After going here, I cannot believe the good reviews I have read. It makes me think that the employees posted these to their own business review page.
When I went in to pick up my car, which they kept for a total of 9 days when they told me it would only be 2 days, I noticed that my license plate was not on the car. So I went back to the office where the office manager, Teresa tried to tell me that my car wasn't brought in with a license plate??? We argued back and forth for a minute before the, presumable, owner chimed in and said that they had a couple of break ins on the lot but notified the police, and they just assumed my car didn't have a license plate to begin with. So I asked Teresa what my options were and instead of addressing me she kept retreating to the back room and hiding out. And when she finally came out and gave some kind of answer she was standing in front of me refusing to look at or acknowledge me, but instead talked to me through the owner. So they offered to give me $20 in cash (mhm no paper trail?) to go down to the DMV and get a new license plate, or I could file a police report and get a free one. So I requested that they call the police, to which they said they had already called three police stations and got no response. So I stood in the office and called the police in front of the two workers, and the police station immediately answered and sent down a cop. When the cop got there they said that the business never filed any reports of a break in. Also when they fixed my AC they had to take off my dashboard, which they ended up chipping in 3 different places in the process and when I said something they said "sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. You just never know" instead of at least owning up to their mistakes. The car was also returned to me ridiculously dirty.
Long story short, this was the most disrespectful place I have ever done business with. They are unprofessional and have no standards.
I had so many issues with this shop I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I brought my 2002 honda crv in to get my air compressor fixed which was estimated at $900. It was a common problem with the car and it had to be completely redone. Which I understood it took a few days to get my car back and when I did I was driving home when I realized the air was not getting cold. When I got to my house I realized that my car was hot and when I opened the hood it was steaming and fluid was spewing out of it. I called them right away and they had it towed there the next day that their expense. The next day he informed me that the radiator had a crack in it. I had brought it there with only an account problem and did not understand why the radiator had an issue now. He called me the next day an said my car was ready to pick up and told me that my radiator fan was not hooked up by his mechanic and they had replaced the radiator and the fan at their expense. For a month I had no issues untill my account stopped blowing cold, I took it on the next day they kept it all day and then informed me it was a hose that was old and needed to be replaced again they fixed it and I was without a car for a day. I picked it up drove it for another day and then the AC again quit blowing cold. I brought it back they kept it for another 2 days and told me it was the hose again. I drove it for about two weeks before I needed to pop the hood to check the oil (it has a leak so I check it fairly regularly) only to find that the hood would not pop. No one had touched it since then so I brought it back. I left it with them. When I came back later that day he told me they had fixed it but needed to show me. So I came only to find that they had cut the wire and had no connected it back to where it should be but had just Jerry rigged it in the front. By this time I didn't want them to touch my car so I left. Overall it was a stressful bad experience I will say that they did try to fix most of the issues.
I drove all the way from Deltona to bring in my 81 Corvette for ac repair, brakes, radiator, hoses and electrical work and ac work on my 99 corvette. I am very satisfied with the work they have done on my vehicles and after shopping around on price find them to be very reasonable as compared to other places I have taken my cars.
I have been taking my cars here for over 15 years and always get a quote first telling me what needs to be done.
I drop the car off and they call me. I have even shopped around to see if anyone can beat their prices and they cannot. If I ever have a problem after driving my car home I can always bring it back with no issues, although this has never happened. I have had 2 types of SUV's, a VW and corvette worked on here. They do more than just AC work and I recommend getting all work done here that they are able to do as it is easier to get it all done in one place. I drive from an hour away to bring my cars to them so that says alot.
This review should prove to be most useful as it is in between a problem I'm hoping Ice Cold Auto Air will resolve. I took my 2011 Nissan in only a month and a week ago to have the broken AC diagnosed and then given a quote to fix after. They told me it was a bad compressor that needed to be replaced. I was also referred to this place by a friend of mine that is friends with the owner. It was definitely cheaper to have it replaced than at the dealership, but still $700.00 bucks for a single father with one car is still a pretty hefty bill to come out of nowhere. Regardless, best price I saw in a short time of looking and they did the job the same day. I picked up my car and the AC blew just fine. Here it is a month and a week later, and for about the past week my AC has decided to come on and off as it wants until finally a few days ago, it just won't blow cold whatsoever, just hot. Keep in mind this is the car I have to transport a 16 month baby in as well as go back and forth to Orlando everyday for work. Anyhow I called and explained the problem to the Owner today on my lunch break, and let him know that I was definitely upset that I paid over $700.00 to them just a month and a week ago to fix this problem on a practically brand new car, for it just to stop working again so soon after repair. I also explained that at the time I originally brought in my car and the diagnosis was done to see what was wrong with the AC system, that if there were any other problems besides the AC Compressor then they should have stated them back then. I doubt something else went mechanically wrong with my car in that short amount of time. So his response over the phone was that he couldn't tell what was wrong until I brought it back in again which I plan on doing Saturday morning. Right now, I am still upset at what I am thinking was $700.00 wasted to have my AC working for a month, but I am a fair person as well, and I am waiting until Saturday to give them a chance to fix the problem. If you read this, you know who I am, please just take care of it and don't try to make the issue mine. It is an issue on a job that obviously wasn't fully completed in the first place. Again though, I understand the world isn't perfect and things are missed and I am giving you guys a chance to make it right. I even tipped the tech before he started working on my car the first time lol. So Saturday morning instead of waking up with my son and enjoying my day off together, I will have to have somebody watch him, while I hopefully don't have to spend too much time sitting at Ice Cold Auto Air waiting to see if I wasted my money originally or not. I will let you, the consumers of Volusia County, and the world, know how reputable my experience is with them on Saturday with making things right. I have faith so we'll see.
I dropped off my vehicle on Saturday morning to have them check out the problem.
Turns out it was the brand new part that was replaced that did indeed go bad only after about a month
and a week. The good news is they were very quick with waiting time when checking my car out. They didn't hassle
or try to make another issue out of it. They simply said that the part was bad, we apologize, and they offered to pay for
a rental car. And of course the original job was taken care of. My air works so far so good as of now.
