George has worked on my Suburban several times - mechanically and replaced door lock mechanism. Both times he did a great job, immediately diagnosed the problem, honest, promptly repaired, and his rates are very competitive. His wife Peggy runs the front office and gas pumps, and could not be nicer!

I give Michael my highest recommendation without reservation! I have been a customer for over a year, and my older car has needed much TLC. Having needed another recent repair, there aren't adequate words to express my gratitude to Michael for his true concern about my situation, and the care he takes in diagnosing and fixing the problem. I've never known a mechanic so meticulous, who goes to such great lengths to ensure I understand the problem, who is also extremely sensitive to my need to have my car back as soon as possible, and who also keeps costs at a minimum *without* compromising quality and safety, his foremost concern. George has fixed my car mulitple times. The first time, he repaired my clutch and really helped me out while I was in a bind. He's also taken a look at my transmission for me and gave me honest advice. Thanks Mike and sons for the great experience. From the moment I walked into your shop I knew I was in the right placed as I was pleasantly greeted as soon as I walked into the repair shop. I'm so relieved to finally to finally find an independent repair shop with your courteous and professional service. Your communication and knowledge were terrific as well. My car is a Nissan Altima which I've owned for nine years. Mike and his sons were able to diagnose, repair and advise of future needed repair, in detail, to keep my car in fine working shape. I took my car there to fix an electrical short and was told that it should only take about an hour to diagnose the problem and that they would call me if it would cost more than $80. I talked to them on the phone during the first hour and was told that they were still working on it, about 10 minutes later my wife was called and told that the job was done and that it would be $500. I called the right back and asked what was going on? They said that they had to replace an expensive part and that it was already installed. I said that I just talked to you minutes ago and that I was to be called if it exceeded $80. They said if I wanted my car it was $500. They kept my car until I paid CASH ONLY and refused to give me the old part. The positive reviews on here must be fakes.


Love Michael and his sons. Always happy to help and take the extra time to give my car the once over for possible issues I may not know about. I moved here three years ago after having the same mechanic where I came from for 20 plus years. I was concerned about finding someone I could trust who would give me the straight information and not try to "upsell" me. I found it in Michael's British American. It ain't fancy, but I'm far more interested in honest, friendly service than I am in any cushy waiting room! I have a 6 year old vehicle that I know I can keep on the road for a long time to come with these folks looking out for me. Two thumbs all the way up!




Michael and his son's were a pleasure to work with. They are very knowledgable and gave me an honest assesment of what to expect. I checked around a couple places and ended up going back there. Would highly reccomend them to anyone.



Doing business with George and...

Doing business with George and Peggy is a good experience even when your car is in really rough shape. I have been a fan of British American Auto Repair for about 5 years and credit George and his crew with my car still being on the road in good working order. It is like driving up to a service station from my childhood when the owners/operators cared about their customers. Peggy is a great part of this family business as well. She greets you, will pump your gas if need be, listen to you and help set a time to have your car serviced when needed. Just check them out0go buy some gas-you will return time and again. Even my dog enjoys going to see them. THANKS guys for ll you do!




They are the sweetest people. They are so helpful and considerate. I had my car worked on and they fixed it fast and reasonable too. I would recommend them to everyone in Daytona Beach. Go see them at the old gas station and ask for George. He is wonderful. Thanks George & Peggy for being there for all of us.



Terrible Service

I can't believe this guy is still in business. He is rude and charges way too much for what he does. He talks down to people and is not a good person at all. Don't waste your time.

My father, Michael Zaharios, is a very respectful, generous, and intelligent person. He knows his work very well because he has been in the automotive industry when he was a child. Working with his father 5 days out of the week, he has been the most hard-working and helpful person all of his life. Therefore, Michael knows the right prices and the right decisions to make for your vehicle and your mind. He would never disrespect any person; his #1 priority is customer satisfaction!
