Lived at this facility for 7 weeks and discovered while living there that the food served in the dining room was precooked in another city and driven to the good Sam. premises twice a week in big cans and then heated in their kitchen. Nothing is freshly cooked there, also, very unsafe, windows without locks, continuous trains two blocks away, very noisy, revere discrimination, refused to feed specific tenants that did not agree with their political views. Most employees flaming liberals and very very unprofessional, roaches, no security, no gate , bad neighborhood, high crime, homeless people sleep on the front porch of old Hall, Anyone from the streets can enter the Old Hall apartment building and sleep there in the back rooms. Manager , Melissa Long, has attention deficit disorder, is Bi Polar, and recently discovered early onset Alzheimer, she is a scatterbrain , constant mistakes at the expense of the residents. The Dementia patients constantly getting out of the building and wandering around unattended because no one is looking after them. Very very low quality employees. Much reverse discrimination. Maintenance crew is the worst. They cannot even repair a lock or paint a door. Nothing gets done around there. The dining room is always in shambles, under staffed. Not enough parking spaces because the employees park their cars in the spaces that are alotted for the paying tenants. Worst place I have ever lived. The management treated me like garbage. I would never allow my aging parents to live there.

From Business: Welcome to ResCare HomeCare of Daytona Beach, Florida. We’re proud to serve our community with quality, compassionate home care for seniors. We offer a full range…
I call into this facility to talk to my father, he's a resident. Some of the staff that answer the phones are rude and unprofessional. Racist also. This is very unacceptable and i'm in California
I lived at Good Sam/Daytona Beach for eight weeks and was treated very well. The manager, Melissa Long is first class and very caring, she works day and evenings to help the residents. She is on call 24/7. The administrator, Lisa Meyers, is priceless with such a professional and compassionate nature and is always available to listen with undivided attention. She addresses every concern with fairness and sympathy. The assisted living facility is very nice and the nurses are first class. Everyone is warm hearted and friendly to one another, it's like living with a big family. The premises give the feel of a large sanctuary. The small chapel is quaint and the doors are always open. The rents are fair and the apartments are always spotless upon occupancy. I give it five stars.
DISGUSTNG PLACE, HORRIBLE FOOD, SERVERS SPIT IN FOOD, ALL ABOUT POLITICS, NOT SMOKE FREE, WINDOWS WITHOUT LOCKS, NO A/C IN MANY UNITS. HIGH RENT.
The reviews here are old so do not trust them. This place is horrible. The rooms are filthy and medications are mismanaged and patients were either running out or were out of medication. Food is inedible. The management are incompetent and one of the 4 Directors of Nursing was found stealing medications and the police are involved. No one in their right mind should consider this facility and medical professionals will guide you elsewhere. They only have 15-20 patients but have 80 beds. As a result they actually cut the food budget and no longer give out prizes for activities. They have aides handing out medications which is illegal, they have many fines from the state of Florida and they have cut the budget for FOOD and no longer any prizes for bingo. Run far and fast.
Beautiful community and a wonderful staff. Perfect for ensuring loved ones are cared for like they were family. Highly recommend this community!
We asked our residents and their family members, "What is the one thing you like best about living at Forest Lake Manor?" Here are some of their replies:"All the nurses are so good and they act like they really care. They have a way of making each resident feel special and loved.""I visit my brother three times a week. He is happy, safe and clean. He often says how happy he is. He loves having his own TV, having his clothes washed for him, smoking on the patio and socializing with the other residents.""What I like the best about Forest Lake is the friendly, courteous staff and excellent service.""My stay at Forest Lake Manor has been as pleasant as possible. Everyone has been super nice to me."
