I wanted to take my amazing girlfriend out to a great place for Valentine?s Day and stumbled across Faz.
Its beautiful appearance and unique menu showed lots of potential, so I decided to make reservations and give it a shot.
The reservations were for 8:00pm so we got there at about 7:45pm to check it out, we then checked in and found out that they were a little behind, so the wait began. They then told everybody to wait in the extremely maxed out bar and that one of the hosts would come and get us when our table was ready.
It wasn't until almost 9:30pm that I decided to mention to someone that we had been waiting for almost an hour and a half!
The host had been writing down peoples names on the back of anything she could find, (napkins, menus, Ect.) and it turned out she lost the reservation (AKA back of paper menu) that had our name on it, along with a few other people who made reservations there.
After complaining she gave us a seat within 10 minutes. We sat down and waited again, this time for bread and drinks, which took about 15-20 minutes!
After over 2 hours of waiting we finally split, not knowing what the food would taste like, but at $65.00 a person it definitely wasn't worth it.

This place used to be such a hot spot, the owner must wonder what happened over the last few years. Here's a few suggestions:
Create a warmer bar atmosphere (maybe some intimate booths near the fireplace?)
Have better live music that plays until midnight instead of the oldies that cut out at 10 PM
Advertise in the local papers with a discount coupon (this will generate business again from local people who lost faith in the place)
Get the chef to create like he used to a few years back
Retrain your wait staff/servers to be more professional

My Husband and I went last night, 8/23/07 and it was a disaster. We had gone before, many years ago, and had terrible service but decided to give it another try, mostly because they have a parking lot. I had the Halibut with heirlooms and basmati -- normally, a tough dish to get wrong, but it was inedible. The fish was sort of smoked and then char-broiled and the result was burnt fish that tasted like smoke. I picked off the heirlooms and tried to eat the rice but it was too salty. My husband had the Mediterranean pasta in a curry sauce with ""light"" cream. He ate it, but it was bland and was heavy on the cream sauce. We decided to split dessert, and opted for the mud pie, and it was a big hunk of chocolate ice cream on an Oreo crust with chocolate sauce. No mud pie here, just Safeway level ice cream. Also, service was terrible, waiter never checked in during the meal and seemed distracted and harried, and 20 minutes--no joke--to get the bill back once I gave my credit card. If you go, eat the flatbread with your water. It is the only thing I recommend.

We also had a negative experience here with the service. It took a long time from ""I'll be back to get your drink order"" and first being seated. The waitress wasn't very helpful at all when our order was incorrect at all and my wife ended up having to wait a half hour with nothing in front of her while watching me eat. There were no apologies, no complimentary offerings or any discounts offered. Normally the manager would come out and try to do something, but service in this place was non existant, and although the food has said to been good, our meals were alright, but over priced and not worth the money or the hassle that the evening became. We wouldn't go back and would recommend that the management learn a bit more about customer service if they want to retain and attract customers.

Terrible service, had to wait about 30 min between every course. Waiter got order wrong, took plate back to fix, let the other entree sit and cool, returned with new, correct entree, but was over cooked and not edible. Wasn't helpful or apologetic when sent back to kitchen. Other entree that was left out was hard and cold. Nobody came out to apologize or try to make things better. Had a $10 coupon if 2 entree's were purchased and they wouldn't honor it even though we tried to order 2 entrees and also ordered appetizers and drinks as well. After food was sent back to kitchen, waitress never botherd to come back except to give bill and say that management wouldn't accept coupon. Decided that if they wouldn't take coupon and service was that bad and a birthday was ruined they wouldn't get a tip.

Not as expensive as I thought it would be. Then menu was typically under $20 a plate. I ended up having a grilled salmon dish from the specials and it was excellent. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal. Their outside dining area had lots of trees and a river rock wall that had water cascading down it. Was nice.
