Business Description
Society Bakery opened 2003 in Dallas, Texas. The born and raised Texan founder loved to bake, loved to sell, and wanted to change the world around her. Society Bakery is a true Dallas original. We believe in being old fashioned, yet innovative. We believe in the neighborhood. We believe a bakery should bake and decorate in-house AND with love. We believe if you follow your passion, it will show in your work. We are Society Bakery because we love the community and we love to bake, not because this a business model that makes sense. There is nothing manufactured, mediocre, or generic about the bakery or what it stands for. Our bakery is located on the Southeast corner of Greenville and McCommas. We are next door to Buffalo Exchange and Corner Market. Check out our newest location at Medical City Dallas, and enjoy gourmet coffee and hand-dipped ice cream! A big heart and fantastic offerings? Yep. We've died and gone to Heaven. With just one cake, the chocolate/Italian cream, you converted the State Fair of Texas into big-time fans. Congratulations to your entire team, corporate and kitchen. - Candis Wheat, State Fair of Texas, Communications Coordinator Society Bakery makes petit fours that are to die for ; practically legendary cupcakes ; and cream cheese icing from scratch, no shortening involved. Her custom cakes are darling- Park Cities People Newspaper ( We ) ordered the Napoleon Dynamite cake for Saturday. It was a huge hit at the party! People were fighting over the menu you taped to the box. I can honestly say I've found somewhere that has ( great ) stuff now AND you're friendly!!! That's fantastic news. - Kristin Arthur, Moroch, Senior Media Buyer Just a note of thanks for the delicious wedding cake. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. It was made exactly to her specifications. It looked so elegant. Many many thanks. - Elizabeth Mazzaferro, Mother of the Bride I have to thank you so very much! The cupcakes were the best I have ever had. The kids ( and the teachers! ) really enjoyed them a lot and the icing, too! Also, the Strawberry Shortcake wasout of this world! Your pastries made Elea's birthday so much more special and delicious! Thank you so much for creating such a nice memory for us. - Babette Sanders

Best Bakery

I love Society Bakery. I only wished I had discovered them before I had gotten married so I could have had them make my wedding cake. Their baked goods are the best. I always order birthday cakes from them- and the recipients of said cakes are always thrilled- with the flavor, moistness, design, etc. I stop by regularly for their cupcakes, whoopie pies, cookies-either for my family or to take as dessert for potlucks. Everyone I know who has tried Society is hooked on them! Now I live only 1 block from them and boy is that trouble! lol! I would definitely recommend the Brooklyn Blackout Cupcakes and order a Ding Dong cake at some point-these two items I have not seen available anywhere else---I am not a huge chocolate fan but, these two cakes are the best and make me crave chocolate! Oh, they have heavenly homemade Whoopie Pies! ---to die for!!!! Got to get some of those too!! Of course, everything there is wonderful and oh! their frosting is so good! Not that weird, overly sweet stuff that is on some grocery store cakes. If the service is ever off I have not noticed because the cakes are so worth it. Actually, I have always been pleased with the service. Plus, they give a free cupcake on your birthday! Okay! I need to walk over and get a yummy Italian Cream cupcake now that I have a craving from all this Society Bakery talk........

I'm so HAPPY you are in Medical City Hospital!

I just found out you opened a new location in Medical Ciry Hospital and I'm jumping for joy! You are much closer to me now!

I don't know what I like more - the bread pudding whoopie pies or the chocolate chip cookies or the red velvet cupcake or wait - the m and m cookies, or maybe the italian cream cupcake, or maybe the lemon squares. I'm drooling at the mouth right now.

IN LOVE WITH YOUR SWEETS!

Beyond the amazing sweets and display cakes, the service is attentive, courteous, charming, and welcoming!!
The Pecan Praline Cupcake is to die for, oh and the giant M&M cookies are awesome, I love to microwave them and have glass of cold milk, gotta try this!! I mean for the TEXAS SIZE of their sweets, their prices are very reasonable.
Definitely...they know what they serve and how to do it!

Not helpful at all

I called Society Bakery today to see if they could make a cake for a wedding shower this Saturday. I do realize it is late in the game to be ordering a cake but I wanted to give them a call because I had heard good things about the cakes and the images on the web site look good as well. When I called I was informed that they just stopped taking orders for Saturday - no biggie as I expected that may be the case. However, when I asked if there was another bakery in the area they could recommend that I try I was told they do not recommend any other bakery and I'd need to search for one on my own. Based on the attitude I received from the lady on the phone I will find another place to go for not only this cake but every other one I'll ever need.

NOT ME!! NEVER AGAIN!

I took my two children there this past week for a treat. Kids like to look at things, not touch things, but look at things to make up their minds what they want.
We had been there maybe 5 minutes and the lady working there had asked 7 times... ""Made up your minds yet""? I told her they were trying to decide and her response was ""You're lucky we aren't busy because we just can't waste this much time on one customer!""
Well we got their treats, one cupcake and one cookie. My daughter ate part of the cupcake and said mom I just can't eat anymore, it just doesn't taste good, I tasted it and have to agree, it certainly wasn't worth the trip and as far as the cookie, just get a bag of M&M's much less expensice and better flavor too.
Guess we are just used to the quailty bakeries, with good customer service and cakes that don't look like they are created by students of a decorating school.
I didn't see one original looking cake on display, all wedding cakes were designed the same.
ACE OF CAKES they will never be........ and they need to take customer service lessons.

So CUTE! SO Delicious!

I have been in several time and have brought many many friends. It's like the cutest neighborhood bakery I've ever seen. The lemon bars are to die for! My mom, who lives in Austin, begs me to bring them to her. Everyone is so darling and ready to help out. You can tell they love their place!

Most Amazing Cupcakes in the World

I love SB cupcakes. They are so good. They must make them with a lot of love. The icing takes the cake. It is the best tasting. They must use like 50 lbs of butter. My husand and I visit every once and a while and we love it. We will go back again and again. They are so much better than Sprinkles, The Cupcakery and Dimples. They win best cupcakes In Texas and possibly the world.

Best wedding cake ever!

Roshi was so accomodating and had no problem changing the cake decoration a couple of times. She made herself available even when the store was closed. We got to try all kinds of flavors when deciding what to pick and all were delicious, the icing is so good you can drink it! We decided on vanilla and chocolate layers because the icing really made the cake so going with traditional flavors seemed like a good choice and it was! Everyone had good things to say about the cake.

GREAT CAKES! Not the best service

My sister discovered this bakery a few years back and there was no turning back. We always get our cakes there with the exception of Tres Leches. There is a bakery in Oak Cliff that specializes in Tres Leches and we go there when we are in the mood for that type of cake. For every other occassion we go to Society Bakery. This year alone I have been there at least, 10 times for ocassions and more times just for cupacakes. That does not include holidays like Valentines, easter etc. BUT nobody ever remembers me! I am a regular customer, but nobody ever seems to acklowledge me as that. Every time I come in it is good service don't get me wrong. I have only had one bad experience there and I think anybody else would have left and not come back. I bought a tiered cake and petite la...for my son's First communion and the cake was LOP SIDED and the the petite la...were the wrong color. When I picked it up it was already paid for (It was not cheap) and the staff did not care to help with my issues. But i decided not to make an issue out of it and had to go buy another cake elsewhere on the day of the event. Still I have been back and when I tried to order a cake 4 days in advance they said they were not taking orders anymore. Since I am a regular customer to a place that is a bit pricey I thought they would make an exception, BUT they didn't. They don't seem to value regular customers because I guess they have enough business. Oh well, I am searching for another bakery and until then I will go back because the quality of the cakes is good and I do get what I pay for there.
