If I was rating this restaurant solely on the Sesame Chicken and the service I would be giving it a 5. This is the best Sesame chicken I've had in the Dallas area. However, my wife and daughter shared the Peking duck. Also, they shared some with me and the boys. No one liked it. My wife said the meat was stringy. I did note that it was not particularly tender. The flavors did nothing for me at all. Wrapping them in tortillas (pan-cakes?) only made them dryer. The plum sauce was sweet and a little pruney. What part was I supposed to enjoy about that? Look, maybe this is Peking duck at it's best and I just don't know or like Peing duck. I've only had duck 2 or 3 other times in my life but I recall both times I found it to be amazing. Not this time. I'm not vindictive but I addressed this with the waiter. He was clear in his answer to my problem: We needed to try something else on the menu ""next time"". No, there won't be a 'next time' that I blow $100 on my kids birthday dinner at a place where 1/5 people were disattisfied and 2/5 left hungry. The waiter had no interest in making it up to us at all and told me that this is just how Peking duck is done. Hence I have no problem writing a full review.
Look - At $14 per plate that duck should have sang.
I also had the 5 flavor shrimp. The sauce was too sweet. No thanks.
Back to the sesame chicken. It was amazing. How sad.

Shark Fin Soup is made from shark fins via a process called Shark Finning, which entails mercilessly slicing the fins off sharks and throwing them back in the water to die over the course of several days.
As long as patrons continue to order shark fin soup, restaurants will continue to serve it, perpetuating shark finning.
There are plenty of other restaurants in the Dallas area that do not offer shark fin soup -- why not go there?

The Pork, Hard Tofu Szechuan Style is definitely my favorite dish at May Dragon, however there are several excellent choices on their menu. It is a combination of many vegetables and pork (although I usually prefer chicken) sauteed in a great sauce. The service was very friendly and home-y (it is a family-owned restaurant). The owners personally greet you at your entrance. My waiter, Ron, was entertaining and made great conversation, telling of his experiences in Iraq! The decor creates a romantic environment, and overall, I had a great time with my husband.
I came to May Dragon to celebrate my 17th birthday just with some family - parents, grandparents, younger brother and sister, and we got our own little private room! The table was round with a rotating center which I thought was so cool, and better yet, I love Chinese food! The Mongolian BBQ Beef and Sesame Chicken are delicious. I'm not much of a shrimp or seafood fan, but my parents seemed to enjoy the 5 Flavor Shrimp that we ordered. I even received a complimentary slice of chocolate mousse cake, and they sang the Happy Birthday song in Chinese for us. It turned out to be a great night with my family.

This restaurant- so chic, so tony, so full of those who fancy themselves ethical and green- dropping plenty of money here- May Dragon serves SHARK FIN SOUP! Shark fins sell for like $1000 a pound, so everybody and their uncle is out there catching sharks and cutting their fins off and sending them to Chinese restaurants like May Dragon. Shark populations are spiraling downward catastrophically worldwide for this reason alone. The high prices commanded by shark fins are due to their demand for shark fin soup- period- that's it- its all because of shark fin soup. And May Dragon serves it! If you're puzzled about this, check out the excellent documentary, ""Sharkwater"". Boycott May Dragon until they take shark fin soup off their menu forever!

We had lunch there on May 15. My plate of food arrived with two dark straight hairs in it. The waiter whisked it away and I requested a bowl of soup since I didn't dare eat anything off a plate at that point but I was hungry and it was lunch. The lady manager there was incredibly rude and charged us for the soup and told us that no one in their kitchen had long hair. I never did say it was long but she obviously had found it. I've reported this restaurant as unsanitary to the Addison Department of Health. Nasty!

Avoid this restaurant. The food and service is very low class and very low quality. I would compare the food to a quick stop Chinese restaurant. Definitely not a 4 star restaurant. I vote NO stars. Rude service was actually notice by other people in the restaurant; very obvious. Beware the owner and staff are very rude.

I came with high expectations after reading some good reviews, but was very disappointed. The waiter rushed us to order drinks and soup before I had even opened my menu. He did not know what any of the alcoholic drinks were and did not offer to find out. So I ordered a Pina Colada which was flavorless, runny and barely even cold.
The kids meal is just smaller portions of their regular food, and my 4 year old was not impressed with her 6$ sweet and sour chicken (neither was I).
The wonton soup was an almost clear broth with only one small wonton in the cup. I prefer my wonton soup full of green onion, pork and...wontons!
The dumpling appetizer and sesame shrimp entree were good though nothing special, but my husband did enjoy his often hard-to-find beef chow fun. The beef chow fun was very good, and a very large portion. The noodles on the table were a nice touch, but not enough to bring me back in for a second shot.

I have been to several Chinese restaurants in Dallas to try Peking duck, and I found out May Dragon has the best Peking duck in town. The duck skin that May Dragon served was crispy compares to other Chinese Restaurants. If you have been to China, you should know the authentic Peking duck's skin is fatty, but May Dragon scrapes out the fat from the skin. I like the way that May Dragon prepares the Peking duck since I don't like fatty food. Most of the Chinese restaurants add MSG when they prepare the food, but I was impressed that May Dragon clearly stated ""No MSG"" from the menu. Overall experience was quite good.

I am quite unimpressed with my experience. The food was marginal at best. The peking duck was literally the worst that I had tasted in my lifetime. It was a dried out mess with little fat to moisten the skin. Even the Moo shu wrappers used to eat the duck in was stale and crumbly. I have had great peking duck before, including the famous Quan Jude restaurant in Beijing and Beijing Garden in Hong Kong. For this restaurant which calls this dish its specialty, I expected a little more. In fact, I would suggest that this item be taken off the menu. The Lo mein was what I expected. The Shrimp dish was quite ordinary. I am unsure why this is a 4 star restaurant. I will say that the service was exceptional. But I would spend more money on hiring real chefs rather than more service help.
