I really enjoyed my time at Club Karma this weekend. They were advertising free (well) drinks but i knew you could not get drinks such as patron and grey goose for free. I did receive a free well drink coupon and enjoyed it. I usually don't drink well but i knew one was not going to hurt me. The bartenders were busy and i did have to wait about a min to get a drink but once i opened a tab with the bartender i never had to wait again. All my drinks were to my liking and drinkable. Drinks were reasonably priced for a night at a club. I was not going for the free ""whatever"" i was going to have a good time and my girls and i truly enjoyed our self. DJ played all the top 40 hip hop and even some old school Jay Z. That's when the crowd got pumped. Excellent place to go out with ya girls and have a good time

This was my second time in a year and half that I have gone to Karma and even after a year and half the drinks are still bad. I would rather go to a more urban night club and get my drinks and then come to Karma. We had to wait to be served a ""free drink"" which wasn't really free because it didn't mean you can get what you wanted only what was on the house.. but hey they dont tell you that at the door. The bartendar was the worst and I agree that there are only 3 bar stations with lousy bartendars. So as the night goes on, I requested a song to be played twice and the DJ said he had the song and would definitely play the song. Needless to say I NEVER heard my song. And to top it off we paid for parking and some people got their cars towed cause where they paid for parkign wasn't legal parking for patrons... Ouch!!! I will not attend this spot again and I will not adverstise it to others.

All of the recent March reviews you see are true, except for that obvious one that is clearly an ""ad"" for the place. My experience turned out much like the others.
When we first found the place it looked amazing. 3 you call it's, no entry fee, huge dance floor, pretty people, the whole 9 yards. The next time we came? Cover charge, hot drunk girls going into the men's room, plus higher drink prices, which I can live with as long as it keeps out the riff raff.
That was back in January and February of 2007.
Fast forward to June of 2007. Whoever previously stated that they felt like there was ""an asian convention going on"" is exactly right. I swear to you 90% of the crowd was of asian descent. Which didn't leave much room for the other races: About 10 white people, 4 African American, 2 hispanic, and it seemed like half of these people were on a date with an asian.
Oh but wait! You missed getting into the place!
$5 bucks for parking in their lot. Across the street as well...they set up camp there too.
DON'T WEAR SNEAKERS. Whatever you do. Unless of course you know the door guys. And, how much does it cost to ""slip"" them something to get in with sneakers? $40 bucks. Thats right, $40 bucks with your $15 cover (guy cost). So $55 bucks just to get in. Somehow we got away with slipping the door guy $15 bucks, but thats with 3 girls crowded around the door guy pleading and begging.
Music was a good music and the drink prices are medium to high. But everything else ruins it. Especially the staff.
Overall stay away...STAY FAR AWAY. Hopefully this place will go belly - up just like its counter part ""Club X"" off the Tollway.
It's a prime market to tap into but you have to be a real freakin idiot to run it right into the ground like these owners are.

We paid for VIP and got put in the back. We were told after 20 min. of trying to talk to the manager that VIP only reserves the table does not include drinks, which was not what we were told over the phone several times. Our waitress was buying herself more drinks than what we were getting. The dress code is a joke they tell guys they have to wear corral shirts and no snickers well I saw plenty of people with snickers.
And if you?re a girl be ready to stand in line for the restroom because they only have one with no air conditioner. Will never be back again even if Digweed comes again.

Karma seemed like the perfect place to go on a Saturday night. We approached the door and yes, there was a line. I didn't quite understand why. We were probably 6th or 7th in line. It was myself (female) my sister and a male friend. My male friend was wearing very trendy athletic type shoes, a nice blazer, he looked very presentable. The bouncer approached us and told my male friend he could not come in because of his shoes. We walked away almost laughing. Not two minutes later two other men were wearing the exact pairs of shoes? Not sure what that was about...but we don't plan on going back. Hmmm very disappointed. : (

My experience was on the 1st ""Indulge Thursday"" event. It was suppose to be happy hour. Cheap drinks, free food, and a chance to mingle. There was such a long line at the door. And why? Because you had to fill out some silly form to get in. It wasn't even a membership card or anything. All I can say is you get what you pay for. Cheap drinks meant you basically were getting ""water on the rocks"". The DJ....needs to go!! Techno shouldn't be played during happy hour. What was advertised on the radio and on the invite was something very different. You couldn't even hold a conversation because the music was so loud. I spoke with the manager about the music and even he couldn't hear me. My ears were ringing the next day.
Although, I must say, the decor was nice. However, I didn't see 12 drink stations....Just 2 big bars with 3 bartenders at each bar. That sucked cause you had to wait to be served. I guess I was expecting upscale, something classy. I probably won't visit this club again. Honestly, it's mostly because of the MUSIC. Change that and I will be back. The club boasts of ZEN. Hence the name Karma? To sum it all up....the decor nice, the crowd seems ok, just wish the music and the drinks were better. Get your drink on elsewhere and then go to Karma. Then you won't care how loud the music is.

On February 15th, I more fun than I have had in a very long time by going to Karma! Oh my goodness, Dallas hasn't had something like this since the old ""STEPPERS"" in Grand Prairie, TX. My girlfriends and I just wanted a place to go to for drinks and boy did we find a spot! We had so much fun, we went back the very next Thursday. The happy hour starts at 5 PM. Ladies get free valet. The food is pretty good (more of a Chinese food type theme). Drink specials last till 9 ($3 on all call drinks). I love the new spot (This is actually the old Blackberries or Prime Time 21 club for those of you who have been in Dallas for a minute.). But don't be fooled. They renovated the ENTIRE club. It is so beautiful from the designs/lighting, to the music (not too much RAP...THANK GOD!) to even the bathrooms. You wouldn't even know it was the above-mentioned clubs without the club still sitting in the old location. There are even televisions embedded in the walls throughout the club that usually show various sports events. So, sports fans can still socialize while enjoying their game. I just can't say how much I enjoyed myself. I am just letting you all know since it is ALWAYS a struggle to find a cool place in Dallas now. Quality spots are just few and in between now. I really hope the club lasts!

Karma, it's a nice set-up true. The music was not as advertised. I was lead to believe it was a mixture of music and all we got was techno. I would also say that it is not very African American friendly either. My husband would stand at the bar 20 minutes, while other people that just walked up, were served immediately. By the way, yes we tip and do so very well. Another thing, the crowd was very rude, people just walked right over you. I thought that I was at an Asian convention; I do like mixed crowds but I guess you would have had to be there.
Bathrooms, line was too long to even think about going to it. Over all, 1st impressions are every thing and I don't believe that we will going back.

I was there with 3 other people on New Years Eve and arrived at 9:30 p.m.; which under normal circumstances would be considered very early, but for NYE it was perfect timing! Our wait was only about 15 mins, we only had to pay a discounted door charge of $10 per person (kudos for showing up early). It was $3 you call it all night, the music & crowd was great, the bartenders were very attentive. The people were really friendly, I even managed to get invited to join several other groups of people. The only downside was that there should be more bathrooms (you can never have enough).
Overall the price for that night, including entry & tip, came up to only $200 for my group ($50 a person, less than it cost to just enter at most other clubs on NYE!) I am looking forward to my next visit, which will be very soon.
Karma advertised $20 per person for entry on New Year's Eve. The bouncers outside only let in people with $50 cash. Those who came with credit cards to open bar tabs and just enough cash to pay valet and cover did not get into the club until five min. before midnight. Once inside the club, the $20 cover was then applied making it a total of $70 cash to experience Karma for New Year. My New Year experience of Karma was a cold two hour stand outside a building trying to convince my group to pay the fifty extra dollars to hopefully have at least one drink with which to toast the New Year. With no ATM available and platinum credit cards only a few people operating on cash could get in. A very disappointing New Year celebration.
The club has great interiors and clean well dressed people. The music was pretty decent but when the DJ spoke, people had to close their ears ... too loud. Nice place to meet classy people. Much better than the downtown dance clubs like purgatory, uropa where you see a bunch of 18+ kids. Not sure what days are best. But, we went there on Sunday night for NYE and music was top40.
