I lost weight from the beginning of my dancing, and then in April of 2009 I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. I decided then and there that I was going to beat the diabetes that it was not going to beat me. I changed my diet that day and started dancing a little harder. Through diet and dancing (exercise) I have lost about 40 lbs. and stayed off of the diabetes medication.
Do I think you would like to start taking lessons to learn to dance? YES
You say you have two “left” feet…I have heard that before, then the ones that said that start taking lessons with one of the great instructors and they don’t have two “left” feet anymore!
Yes…West Coast Swing is still my personal favorite, but I enjoy all of the dances

Through dancing at the Dallas studio, I have met some new friends, learned new steps outside of my comfort zone and learned how to dress up again. The studio is my other home, the one place where I can unwind and forget about the housework for a bit, and the science project I have to help my daughter finish or the stress of life as a news reporter.
I look forward to my dance classes not only because I can ""chill out"" for those couple of minutes, but because I can see my friends and also my instructors who make ""how was your day?"" sound so welcoming and just wonderful.
Why wouldn't I want to do this forever?

Where to begin...I love to dance! And thanks to Arthur Murray and the Plano staff of great teachers, they helped my husband and I become better dancers. It's wonderful to attend a party and my husband has the confidence to ask me to dance. We hardly sit down. It's great!!! Along with that we are fortunate enough to have been able to travel around the country and see the sights and dance in several competitions that have been life changing experiences. We have been to places like Florence, Italy, Hawai'i and Banff, Canada. We meet people who share the same interest in dance, and get the excitement of competitions and accomplishment all in one. We share a camaraderie with the other students and the Arthur Murray family. It's like having an extended family.
Dancing with Arthur Murray has also been a great way to get back in shape. I lost 53 pounds and my husband lost 30 pounds. We have been dancing with Arthur Murray for around 2 years now and our energy level has improved tremendously, and we get off that couch and do what we enjoy!
I can say this to the women who think their husbands won't enjoy dancing...My husband was not at all happy to take lessons with me, but after the initial lesson he decided to go forward with it. He happens to like Country Western dancing better than the Smooth or Latin, which of course is what I like to do. So, we made a deal. I do some Country, he does some Latin. Believe it or not, we have both enjoyed learning and dancing with each other as well as with our teachers. So, my advice to you is give it a try, you won't be sorry!

At age six, Taylor loved to dance and watch others dance. Ten months ago she began lessons at Arthur Murray, Wow! We have watched Taylor change from a shy little girl to a confident young lady who loves to perform! She looks forward to dancing with her instructor each week. Our family enjoys dancing with Taylor and others at the Friday dance parties. We look forward to watching Taylor continue to gain self-confidence and develop skills as a ballroom dancer. We look forward to all the new experiences that we will share with Taylor at Arthur Murray.

I have always loved to watch people dance and wanted to learn but didn't think I could learn or even have the chance to learn. One of my Best friends wanted to learn some dancing so he signed us up for lessons. I had a very low self esteem when I started lessons and with the encouragement of the instructors and my best friend I was learning to dance. I have had more fun since I have been a student at Arthur Murray and my self confidence is getting better. The instructors are so positive and understanding. It is so amazing when you are dancing it is like a fairy tale and I am the princess. I can't wait to dance with my son at his wedding this weekend, a dream come true! Thank you Sara and Rich for all your hard work you have invested in me! Thank you for believing in me!

I've been surprised to see the benefit of setting goals in my dancing and then the pride that comes from achieving them. My instructors and the executive team work with me to do this and it has made me more focused on what I plan to do each year. Weight loss and weight management have been other benefits I've experienced. Along with a proper diet, dancing has helped me achieve the goal of losing twenty pounds and keeping it off!
I'm glad I fulfilled this promise to myself because my Arthur Murray journey has been a successful one and I hope to continue it for many more years!

I am posting this letter here because when I sent it to the school they never bothered to acknowledge it.
I am very interested in taking some classes with Arthur Murray but had some concerns related to your staff. I came by the studio a few days ago just to see what it was all about and to ask some questions about the classes as i have not danced before. However when I came in the front desk personel were surprisingly curt and I stood their struggling to get their attention as I had a few questions. I got the impression they were delibaretly not making eye contact...even a few
of the teachers saw me standing there but not a single one made an effort to connect. It is my hope this was an isolated incident and that you do not ordinarily treat people this way. For the prices you are charging potential customers should be welcomed more graciously.
