noisy & good people watching

Not the best steak I have had in Dallas... the prime rib was way ""too prime"" and this cow was definitely not on a low-fat diet with the ridiculous swirls of fat and small areas of actual edible meat... maybe some people prefer their steak like this but I have some manageable curves that I plan to keep in check! It is worth checking out just for the simple people watching of rich Dallas peeps like Jerry Jones and the Cowboys crew who get their own section and Al Biernat himself that is often present greeting guests.

It can get quite loud but most steak places get into the higher decibels, right? Big groups and bigger tabs on corporate dollars with all you can eat greedies and booze... nice night.. now if I can just get over to that table!!!!

I couldn't wait to get back he...

I couldn't wait to get back here from my amazing luch at Al Bienat's. It was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! It had been a while since I have had such a wonderful meal without exuberant prices. If you ever go here, start with the Baked Goat Cheese, Portabella Mushrooms & Sweet Garlic and for a meal have the Niman Ranch Pork Chop wuith Gorgonzola cheese, carrots and a delicious house home made apple sauce. They also have sandwiches. My friend had one and it looked gooood!

Delicious Steak!

Great upscale steak house with a casual atmosphere. Great food. Good service.

Do ya like grazing and swimming animals?

This is a relaxed biz-casual steakhouse favorite of mine. It has a Mediterranean setting that my wife and I are always pleased to visit. More than the creatures that go “Moo” it also has popular swimming and flying animals cooked up just right (yes, non-beef entrees that are very tasty). AB's serves wonderful Pan Seared Sea Bass over the best Lobster Risotto I've ever had. The Australian Cold Water Lobster Tail, the Colorado Lamb Chops and the Elk Filet make my mouth water just thinking about em.

It's not super quiet like some dead library, because Dallasite business folk keep flocking to this place. Why?

Well their beef is from Allen brothers and is grain-fed, Prime Rated (it’s among the top 2% of all beef sold in the USA).. yup, coming from the best Midwest beef purveyors in the nation. And there are two steaks provided exclusively for Al Biernat's alone from Allen Brothers: 1) The dry-aged bone-in NY strip and, 2) The dry-aged bone-in filet.

Wet-aged beef is by far more prevalent in the Big D these days. There’s more involved with dry-aged beef-prep but the flavor seems to be more concentrated. AB’s service, atmosphere and quality of cuisine are uber-superb! Please try their Veal Osso Bucco if you get a chance. Al and Brad have become our personal friends over the years. They and their team are polished, gracious and have integrity as hands-on professionals—they really know what they're doing. This place is truly EXCELLENT with a capital E. Enjoy! @kurtwvs

delicious brunch menu

My husband & I went to Sunday Brunch for our anniversary & it was a real treat. The service was amazing. The food was so flavorful & my husband is a chef so he is extremely picky. The experience overall was one to remember.

Amazing with every detail

I have been to many of the high end steak houses around the DFW area and I have to say that this steakhouse is in the running for my #1 spot. From the moment we did valet to the time we picked up the car our experience here was above excellent.
We had reservations and we were taken right to our table, no wait and no problem. Sat down and before I could put my purse beside me we had bread and a server with menus and a wine list. We ordered a bottle of wine for our anniversary and decided to take our time. I ordered the filet ""oscar style"" between medium and medium well and it turned out perfectly! It melted in my mouth! The bernaise sauce and crab meat on top was the perfect touch. I can't say enough about that steak. The smashed potatoes were great and the sweet potato soufle was incredible! Our server was very prompt and made sure our wine glasses were full. We were brought a complimentary piece of cheesecake with fruit and writing on the plate. We are already planning our next trip back! You will love it too!!!!

Great food, great service, a little too noisy

My husband and I ate at Al Biernat's for our anniversary. We had 8:30 reservations and were seated around 8:45 (not too bad in my opinion). Our server was very polite and helpful, and we were able to sit in one of the big booths. They have an amazing salad list - I got Al's Salad, which was good, but not quite what I was expecting, and my husband got the Wedge salad, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We both ordered the Filet Oscar, which was so tender and flavored perfectly. The waiter apologized to us for the ""long wait"" between the salad and entree, although neither of us felt like we waited that long. At the end of the meal, the waiter brought us a complimentary dessert for being so patient (which again, we didn't even think we had to wait too long!). While the food and service was great, it was a little noiser than I expected an upscale steakhouse to be. Tons of people crowded around the bar, so my husband and I had to talk very loudly to hear each other. I guess many people is a sign of a popular restaurant, though.

Holy ELK!!..

The best steakhouse in dallas by far. Me and my girlfriend go their every year for our anniversary and have always been amazed at how good this place is. I've been to MANY other places, and this place has them ALL beat! Great service, great decor, incredible food, and the steak, elk, was simply AMAZING!!!

Always wonderful.

I love this place and come back again and again. The food has a lot of flavor. It?s full but not spicy. Our server is always friendly and knowledgeable. One of my favorite things to order is the caramelized salmon. And the deserts here are wonderful too. Even when it?s too busy and the seating gets real cramped, the food and the service never lacks. If you wish for a romantic date then I suggest going on a weekday unless you are one of the lucky ones who gets one of the limited booths. Great chocolate martinis also.

I could write a short book about how great our experience was, but I will get straight to the point. My husband and I have dined at the finest, but I must say this was an experience to remember. Let me inform you, I am one of the most pickiest people, but I couldn't find anything wrong with this restaurant. Great ambience, awesome food, very friendly staff, and extremely clean restrooms. We were treated like royalty. Definently one of the best steakhouses in dfw. This is an awesome restaurant for a romantic dinner date. Go check it out, I am sure you will love it. Saturdays are extremely busy so book in advance.

Al was the general manager for the Palm in downtown Dallas. He opened his own place, and it is superb.

Great service, but not the greatest ambience

The decor in this restaurant is downright ghastly. Our food was good, but not out of this world. Our server was good, too, but he took a little while to warm up to us. The hostesses were fairly polite when we arrived, but when I called for a last minute reservation, one of the girls was downright witchy. We may go back, but I think there are better steakhouses in Dallas.

Awesome service- Awesome food

My wife and I go to Al's quite often . Whenever we have company in town Al's is always our first choice for enteraining. The steaks and seafood are the best in town and the extra service and detail we get from Oscar our waiter and Al makes it even more special. They go beyond the call of duty for us and our guests.

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to!

I have been to Al Biernat's many times. Each time the food and the service get better and better. I would highly recommend the restaurant and the staff. Lance's service was impeccable.

I have never... and never will again...

On Saturday, my parents drove over an hour and a half to meet me, my wife, and my two sisters for dinner at Al Biernats. Dinner was excellent. Good food. Good wine.

We were sitting at our table for a little over two hours, and as we were finishing our dessert, a gentleman (I use the term loosely) came over asked father if we could move to another spot so another group could have our table. I have always heard about the wait staff rushing a table or bringing the check expeditiously, but I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE seen an individual actually come and ask if a party could vacate their table so that another could sit. The ironic thing is that I saw other empty tables around the room. We were having a wonderful time catching up as a family, something we don't get to do often, and the staff at Al' Biernat's practically ruined the evening.

I will never go back there and if you want an enjoyable dining experience I recommend that you AVOID this place. They are more than happy to charge an unbelievable price but the customer is definitely not appreciated. Another irony is that we would have been done with dessert and ready to leave in about 10 to 15 minutes and Al could have saved face and a customer. He chose not to do either and therefore has lost both.

Another sore point is that I have emailed them and have yet to have a response. It was poor form all around. I will never set foot in this establishment again.

Good lunch spot

I took my husband there for lunch. We both ordered the crab bisque and the corn-crusted halibut, which came with sauteed spinach. The carb bisque was among the best I've ever tasted, and I've had more than my share. The halibut portion was sizeable, especially for lunch. The spinach was garlicky, but good. Dessert for my husband was chocolate molten cake. The customer service was good. We went at the end of the lunch hour. I think this is likely the best time to go. Still, we'd made reservations in advance......
