The hospital itself is outstanding. But this is not the main number for the hospital. This is for Children's Health within Presbyterian Hospital
Do not expect to be able to find information regarding handicapped access, parking fees or valet fees on their Web site. Parking is only "free" for 15 minutes, it seems. It takes that long to find a patient's room! And, if you try to call the parking services, you get their corporate offices in Florida. Also, there is no information on parking adjacent to each building in the complex. If you are handicapped and want to visit someone here, good luck to you as you will need it.
i can only speak on their emergency room i was taken there after being hit by a car & everyone i dealt with was mean-spirited rude & disrespectful! the nurses, the x-ray person, even the security guard treated me like scum i was hurt & completely defenseless, not sure but i'm guessing it may be racial i'm afro american. BEWARE MY PEOPLE!
My mom was in Presbyterian Hospital,Hammon Building 3rd floor for 14 days. The nurses, doctors and aides were outstanding. I can not say enough how good everyone was.
Baylor Medical is our whole family's choice.Everyone there is caring, courteous, friendly, helpful, highly professional people I have never met anyone employed there that I could say any less about.Thank You Baylor!
Well, my mother received a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) from this hospital. Mind you, the right side of her heart is the worst. So they placed the pump. She stayed there about 3 to 4 more months after surgery. Then they decide to throw her in a nursing home where they know nothing about LVAD patients. Instead of doctors at UT doing their research as doctors, they were more hung up on my mothers emotional distress, and mental issues. These are doctors, aren't they supposed to research?? I just feel like they placed this pump in my mothers heart, then said ok we're done, bye! Oh, your mother can't get up, or walk, well we'll just throw her in a nursing home and just forget about this patient. Maybe this patient was too complex for doctors to deal with. I asked them several times, should I take her to Baylor heart? They simply said that Baylor would not accept my mother because UT put the pump in. So now I'm like well, who will be willing to help? If something happens to my mother, UT ST. Paul hospital would be the blame because they didn't event have the decency or professionalism to check on a patient with mental disabilities. Oh yea, they had a Nurse practitioner covering the case. That's like sending the weather man to give breaking news. These people have made my family's life HELL. Think they give a crap. Heck no!!
The hospital is very clean. The nurses and doctors were wonderful. My Mom was very sick and we were so scared that she wasn't going to make it. The wonderful staff there made us feel very comfortable and at ease. We stayed with Mom for the first several days and met many wonderful people. After that we knew she was getting the best care. We even met the CEO. He was always visiting with famalies, other patients, and his staff. I have never seen a CEO of a hospital doing any of that. The doctor we had saw us every day. He took the time to answer all of our questions. He was truly a God send. This is the best hospital I have ever been in.
The PLACE to call for Health insurance. Selected Benfits listened to my confusion over the diffent plans out there and helped me select one that fit our family's needs best. I cannot recommend them enough! Thank you Selected Benefits!
I would not take my worst enemy or any of my ex husbands here. This place is negligent, scrupulous, and horrifying. My father has congestive heart failure and kidney problems, the reason he was sent here from another hospital (thank you Mr. Obama) and this place has proceeded to have a physical therapist lie about being in several patients rooms over the weekend doing therapy and signing off on his time card. They have ignored calls from my dad's room to assist in removing the handicap toilet, so he had to smell feces for a period of time. My dad had been on a medication for many years to keep fluid from building up around his heart was taken off only to gain 18 pounds in 3 days, causing his heart to have to pump harder as we know it sends the blood to the body, Now he has a port in his neck , which was not properly placed making him bleed for several hours. When the doctor came back to fix the problem, he asked for this and that, but got little of none. Why, because they were out of stock on some of the stuff. How can a hospital run out of typical sutures and bandaids? If you have to go, then you have no choice, but be sure you have legal documents for family to help handle your medical situation, or you may not make it out of this place.
this is why I like going here: I'm in and out quick. Im not a patient person, plus I have alot of things to do in a day, including work, so I appreciate that they respect that my time is valuable too. Secondly, I believe it is important to have a doc tor with the same faith based values that I have, and I have that with this lovely couple of Doctors.
