My rating is about 1/2 a star higher than my recent experience at this establishment. To be fair, the redeeming qualities of this place are worth noting and for that, I rounded my rating up versus down.I've never felt compelled to write a Yelp review but as I walked out of this place I knew I had to. I headed in there the other night for a pedi. I was greeted and asked to pick a color as a technician started running water for the foot bath.(Color selection: Meh. Basic but not tragic. I found what I needed but this isn't one of those places that has an endless OPI selection. No Essie. I'd say 1/2 OPI, 1/2 generic salon brand.)THE GOOD:-convenient, clean location-offered a beverage upon sitting down-.good finished product - My toes look pretty. So why 2.5 stars??The pushy and abrasive boss/manager who is running the place. The TVs are all muted so all you can hear is this woman's voice throughout the salon. When I first heard her persistently trying to up-sell a customer on the paraffin wax upgrades, I thought it was a bit obnoxious but gave her a pass.. A girl's gotta eat, right? When she loudly approached my technician griping something in their native tongue, I surmised that maybe he was doing something wrong and she was simply correcting his technique. But then things started getting WEIRD.. Paraffin wax lady got up to pay. Handed boss/manager a credit card. Bad move.Boss/manager launches into a whole spiel about how they prefer cash -that it costs them $ every time they swipe a card- and if she recalled, she DID inform the lady when she called to schedule her appt that ThEY PREFER CASH and to please prepare for that. The lady apologizes, says she didn't have time to go to ATM but can tip in cash.I'm thinking WTF?!! I'm appalled at how this woman is being treated ESPECIALLY after offering to tip out in cash. Plus, I planned on paying THE SAME WAY. Given the dozens of nail services I've had over the years, 90% have been paid for the same way - service on card, tip in cash. NEVER had a problem doing this. When sh*t starts to get stressful while my feet are being rubbed, I have a problem with that. When boss/manager finished the checkout, she proceeded to replace the technician who had been working on my feet. She tried to sell me on a mani. What about eyebrows? I'm really good at waxing, I do legs, upper lip, and body waxing if you're interested, we can head to the back after I finish painting your toes. For the love of God, I'm in the home stretch of my pedi and just want to finish catching up on emails the way I had been for the last 15 minutes. ENOUGH with the hard sell. By the time I made it to the drying station, I set my purse down beside a sign that said "Our technicians prefer to be paid in CASH. Thank you" It was time for me to pay. Oh boy, this should be fun.As I handed her my card, I received the same icy spiel about the evil credit card companies. I took my card back and handed her the cash tip.**This review has become longer than I intended so I will spare you the uncomfortable details of the personal questions boss/manager asked me in an awkward attempt to make small talk. I believe in being polite but sometimes I just want to check my emails in peace and appreciate when the technician can pick up on basic social cues and let the conversation rest.Bottom line: Credit card processing fees are simply the price of doing business. (I say this as a small business owner who has experience paying these fees.) Pedicures should be relaxing, not riddled with stress. I don't expect to be treated like the Queen of England but there is a modicum of customer service that I do expect. With a nail salon on every corner, I will NOT be returning to this place nor would I recommend it to anyone else.
I thought pedicures were just for women, and man (no pun intended) was I wrong. I received a great pedicure at Nail Charisma and now I get them done on regular bases. We have fun; we laugh and have great conversation. I challenge all men to try it.CG
Mashy is a phenomenal human being from the inside out. Being an esthetician is her way of helping others. This is not just a job for her - it's her passion in life and she does it extremely well. Both men and women can feel very comfortable in coming to her. She is extremely professional, yet supremely caring and compassionate about each and every client she serves.I have been a client of hers for about fourteen months, and have never been happier. I was extremely self conscious about coming to see her at first, because I have Multiple Sclerosis. I wanted to get the waxing to keep my appearance at it's best. She put me at ease right away. The waxing did not hurt in the very least, even the Brazilian. Mashy is very open minded in that she doesn't care what walk of life you come from. She treats everyone with the respect and dignity in which she would be wanted to be treated in return.Mashy gladly takes appointments for men. women, and children alike. Her goal is to make their appointment as enjoyable and as relaxing as possible. The ladies in the salon are super sweet and warmly welcoming of all their clients. The rooms for the waxing are very private and you can feel very secure that no one will accidentally walk in and suddenly see you. Everything is thoroughly sanitized and cleaned, meaning all instruments and the salon itself.I am always getting complements on my appearance, and I credit it to Mashy. She helps me to feel better about myself. It shows how deeply she cares about her clients when you come in and see her.Mashy's reflexology is a clear winner. It's a 45 minute massage that is to die for. She can tell just by massaging your feet what your stress points are. When she was doing mine one time, she knew I had problems with my balance without even asking me beforehand. If you have a physical disability and don't have the mobility to do certain things like shave your legs, underarms, or face, Mashy can take care of that through waxing or threading. It's all totally pain free. In that aspect she's been an absolute lifesaver for me. One can feel comfortable in enlisting the help of her professional skincare services.Mashy offers facials that are incredible. I had one and fell asleep on the table. Mashy just let me take a nap because I was so relaxed - lol!I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone wanting a kind, caring, and compassionate esthetician who will professionally perform the waxing or facial service you want.I jokingly told her one time that if she were to ever move back to Iran, that she would have a line of clients lined up at DFW airport going there to seek out her services. She's that good at what she does. She's very open minded and accepting of all people no matter what their religion, race, sexual preference, disability, etc etc.I am not a spokesperson for Mashy. I am just a regular customer that is telling what I think. She deserves more recognition that I'm giving her here. The bottom line is this. If you want to go with the best then you'll definitely want to see Mashy. She's a rare breed in the beauty world. There aren't many like her around if any at all.
I am so excited to write this review! Krimson & Klover is a true GEM in the Dallas Uptown area! From start to finish my experience was so awesome, I cannot wait to go back! When I pulled up I got so excited, Krimson & Klover is this adorable little Victorian house with a bright pink door and mannequins on the porch wearing super cute clothes! I knew I would find the perfect outfit for a date night with the hubby! When I walked in I was greeted by Lindsey (the shop owner) and Ferb, this tiny, sweet, lovable little puppy who is a great mascot for Krimson & Klover. Lindsey is super friendly and immediately started asking what I was in for and what I was looking for. I need something hot for a surprise date night with the hubby!!As I started looking around, grabbing so many cute dresses, shirts and jumpsuits within my comfort zone, Lindsey was doing the same with things I may have never tried on. When I got to the dressing room I had about 15 things to decide from! Lindsey sat back there and let me come out and do a fashion show for her, it was so much fun! It was also nice because I didn’t have my best friend shopping with me to say “yes” and “no” but Lindsey was so nice in helping. Needless to say, I not only found a super sexy jumpsuit to wear on my date night, I left with 3 other items I cannot wait to wear! Lindsey did a great job of helping me find things that looked great on me! And she is super sweet! I cannot wait to go back and experience it all again! This time I may go after work because she has wine to help with your decision shopping! If I could give Krimson & Klover 10 stars I would! Anyone who has had a bad experience here needs to give them another try because anything less than 5 stars just isn’t near my experience. Great job Lindsey!!
I have been shopping with this incredible boutique for many years and what makes this store unique, is that it has a wonderful selection; vintage, consigned and new! The sales staff is so friendly and helpful and assist in putting together outfits, etc. They also carry high end handbags and shoes that have been gently used and some with the price tags still attached. Talk about a bargain...if you haven't shopped at My Secret Closet, you are missing out on the THE BEST CONSIGNMENT STORE IN DFW! They also have a section of new clothes which are in an affordable price range but unique since the owner has excellent taste. and does an awesome job in selecting excellent pieces that any age to can choose from and look awesome.Take time to look up and visit My Secret Closet, because I guarantee you will find something, if not for yourself, then for your mom, friend or anyone you know. So don't keep this jewel of a store a secret, spread the word so others can shop till they drop and save $$.
The best place in Dallas to get lash extentions!!I'm a long time client of The Lash Lounge. I love my lashes that are done there. I love the girls at this location I have never had any issue with sensitivity to the glue or had any other eye issue. The staff there are always welcoming. I have had to get my lashes done at another salon due to being out of town. I too have had a crappie lash job done at a non Lash Lounge location. The staff at this Lash Lounge location were great in helping me correct the mistakes that was made by the other place. On the occasion that I have lost more than normal extentions I was able to trouble shoot the reason with my stylist. The most common problem for me is problem sweat from working out. My stylist was able to help me with a product to help me seal the glue. As well as an extended appt. to get extra lashes. I have read through the bad reviews. I have to disagree with every one of them. I wouldn't go any other place to get my lashes done!
I've never really had a problem with this salon until yesterday. I had a male tech named Andy. I asked him if he could do my nails a certain way and I showed him a picture of how I wanted them. He did not say one word and looked unpleased with my request. He rushed the whole time and did not do my nails how I requested. Another thing that really bothered me was the fact he cut the side of my thumb with the nail-filer because of how hard he was filing my nail that it cut my skin. He hurt me a couple of times with the drill until I pulled back my hand because of the pain then he was careful. He was rushing so much that he put cuticle oil on my hands and nails then ran a hot rag over them and my nails got jacked up because they weren't dry and ready. So he had to do the last clear coat over on both my hands. And then charged me $45 last time I'll be going there. My thumb is stil in pain of how raw it is.
I had booked a consult online before making an appointment for a cut and color. On the day of my appointment however, the hairdresser forgot everything we had talked about at the consult. I asked for low lights and she gave me highlights. She cut my hair shorter than I had specified, and when I got home I found that one side was noticeably shorter than the other. I was completely over whelmed by the sheer amount of products she put on the counter for me to buy as I was checking out and was shocked by the fact that the price was double what was shown on their website. I feel that she wasn't interested in having me as a regular customer, she just wanted to make as big of a sale as she could that day. I was not comfortable calling the salon back to have her fix my hair. I didn't feel confident that it was something she was capable of fixing.
Went in to look for a Marine Corps ball dress and my wedding dress. I'm on a massive budget and didn't plan on leaving with anything, just wanted to see what they had. I was completely surprised. Alyssa helped me out and was absolutely fantastic! She saw exactly what I was looking for and didn't dismiss me because of my small budget (which has happened everywhere I've gone so far). I not only found a dress, I found THREE. One ball and two wedding. I couldn't decide and the prices were obnoxiously reasonable. So I got them both. I got all three for a fraction of the price I was expecting for one. I'm coming back here for every occasion. I'm bringing my wedding party back here to find their dresses. SOOOOOO many options. I really can't say enough good things about this place and Alyssa.
This place is AWESOME! It doesn't have a lot of curb appeal, but don't worry, Mai and Christine are wonderful! I've been going for a few years to get my lashes and brows done, and I've NEVER had a problem. The prices are better than anybody in DFW and the quality is just as good, or better than the high dollar salons! My lashes look so natural, that even my eye doctor had no clue I was wearing fake lashes. Everywhere I go, I get compliments on either my lashes or brows or both. I live about 45 minutes away, and could easily find another place to do them, but I know that I can always count on Mai to make my brows/lashes perfect every time. If you have ever had your brows messed up by someone, then, you understand how wonderful it is to finally find a person who NEVER messes them up!
The Diva Lashes lash studio is a very pleasant and peaceful environment to get any beauty extensions that you need. I really like how the lashes are HUMAN HAIR and how NATURAL they look and feel. For each lash to be placed individually to match your natural lash line it isn't time consuming but I would plan to be there about the time it takes at the hair salon for a shampoo and blow dry, meaning it isn't a rushed job they do. My cosmotologist was very relaxing and she made it easy for someone upbeat as myself to relax while getting my lashes done. Ialso like the prices. This is a new location so the environment again is very pleasant. I am definitely going back for a touch up.
