When I got the bill, it was much less than I had anticipated. Not only that, he actually fixed a couple of minor issues that could have easily been ignored. I was very pleased with the final result. I won't go anywhere else and highly recommend his company.
My car had a noise, I thought a suspension part had gone bad.But they replaced some brake caliper hardware and got rid of a rattle? Since no one else worked on the car, why did the caliper come loose?In any case the car is now rattle free.They do Great work.
I have been using Lucas for all my Lexus service needs for about 6 years now. Lucas Auto Care does top notch work for usually less than the dealerships. For longer repairs, a loaner is generally available at no costs so there is no need to have a family or friend follow you to drop off your car. I live in Memorial and so it's a good distance for me to drive to the shop, but the atmosphere and the quality of work being done makes it worth it. In fact, I recently had some repairs done to my 2008 Lexus GS and after my husband picked it up and brought it home, I realized that the Fog Lights were not working. Realizing that my husband and I had already driven to his shop recently, they offered to come out to our house to take a look. As it turns out, the ballasts had gone bad and needed to be replaced. They felt it would be easier to perform the work at his shop so he drove my car back to his shop and left me with his personal truck. About 24 hours later, he had one of his guys at the shop return my car with the lights fixed and his guy drove a loaner back to the shop so I never had to leave my house to have this issue fixed. Now THAT is exceptional service!
Terrible. Brought car in to get brakes replaced and power steering pump changed. Got the car home and the power steering was spraying oil all over and the rear brake disk showed evidence that the rear wheel had fallen off during the test drive. George refused to take responsibility for any of it. He also told me I needed new struts even though he had this replaced them a year earlier. I could write a novel about this place.
I brought my 2008 civic si in to have them install the factory starter I bought, THE OWNER QUOTED me the price 65 - 70 bucks to install it.. To me that was low but I asked again are your and he told me again 65 - 70 bucks !! Alright so I left it there Saturday morning. Around 3 o'clock the same day they called and said the car was ready.. I go to the shop and the owner said I'm lucky because he charged me the wrong price, NOT MY PROBLEM .. I get the car and pull out of the lot and the CHECK ENGINE light comes on... GREAT, so I turn around around and go back in.. I tell the owner the check engine light is on and it wasn't that way before.. He gets the mechanic to come in and he says all he did was put the starter in and nothing else, time and time again.. I asked them to run the code, they pulled it back in and ran the code.. KNOCK sensor is faulty, the guys says maybe it just went out.. No way that happens.Had him erase the code and I took the car and before I left the lot the light is on AGAIN, the gas was low so I fill it up and head back to the shop.. I tell the owner the light is back on, pull it in the shop and I look at it to see what happened.. He's mechanic says he didn't do anything wrong...We finally pull it in and get it on the lift.. I show the guy where the KNOCK sensor is located, right behind the starter..I ask him if he removed it to removed the starter and he said no... With his light I showed him by not removing it he broke it because it was just hanging there... I told them I would leave the car and they can replace it on Monday... So Monday I call and they say its ready, I go and pick it up.. The owner says I owe him money for the sensor..I was like why sir ? your guy broke it when he removed the starter so I don't owe you anything.. Finally after some back and forth he finally gives me the keys.. I get the car home and look under the hood..I see 2 flash light up against the fan ALMOST hitting it !!!I will call the owner and tell them about this.. But don't take your car or truck here for service.. The mechanic was so dirty and grease on his hands as he gets in and out of my car..
I have an Audi that has recently needed some suspension work. I found Lucas Auto Care because it was recommended to me by a fellow European car driver. Many garages use the excuse that you have an European vehicle to charge you too much. These guys have very reasonable prices. They have great communication and excellent customer service. If you don't understand a repair or a charge, they will show you and explain it to you. They treat you like an intelligent adult. Their work is top notch. And they take care of the little details. They have a rental car service for extended repairs, so you're not stuck if you only have one vehicle. And my rims and wheels are always cleaned, even if I'm just having my oil changed. I won't trust my Audi to anyone else.
Lucas is quite frankly the best place to take your vehicle for repairs in Houston. Without a doubt there is no other place out there with better service and workmanship. From the very first call, everyone was sincerely polite and provided great customer service. They even picked up/dropped off my car just a few miles away. Even though I stated I would pick up the vehicle, they insisted that it was no problem at all. Now that's what I call service! They really do go above and beyond. My car looks incredible, no one can even tell it was ever in a wreck. I highly recommend them to anyone.
I went in for tires on Sunday, September 27, 2 p.m. The desk clerk was arrogant and rude, and pressured me hard for his upsells (warranty, alignment, etc. ), then told me I had to wait an hour and a half for my tires. I wasn't happy, but I sat and waited. Soon after, the clerk told me to come out to the garage, where he showed me a fluid leak on my front brake. He said it was unsafe and needed fixed immediately. I said i would have another mechanic do it, but all I wanted from him was tires. He refused, saying he couldn't put tires on if the brakes were in that condition. I said fine, then bring my truck off the rack and I will go home.He refused to give me back my truck unless I got the brakes fixed.I repeated my demand over and over, and still he refused. I cussed him out and left the store to wait in the parking lot and make some phone calls. It wasn't until the police showed up that I finally got back the keys to my truck and was able to leave.Before the police showed up, that same clerk had come outside acting very confrontational, not even trying to justify holding my truck hostage, just presenting it as a fact I couldn't do anything about.Since this incident, I have read reviews on NBT stores across the country, and it seems to be a pattern that they will find SOMETHING "unsafe" on your vehicle and try to keep you from leaving until you pay them to fix it.I would be ashamed to work there.
Lucas Auto Care has been my mechanic for somewhere south of 10 years. I came to him at the recommendation of another highly regarded mechanic who just couldn't pinpoint a problem with my Porsche 924. Lucas Auto Care and his team solved the problem and I never went to another mechanic. He kept the Porsche running until it was well over 25 years old and one of the last 924's in the United States. I now have a New Beetle and the Lucas Auto Care Team is just as caring and diligent with that as they were with the 924 - and as they are with every car in their expert care.
These guys were great. Literally revived my BMW Z3 Roadster from the dead. I told them I was not in a hurry to get it back if they were busy, but they got on it that day anyway. They replaced my fuel pump and fuel filter and cleaned out the gas tank from a lot of old gas that had just been sitting there. They checked all the belts and updated my software (which had not been done before) and the whole thing cost a lot less than what I thought it would and probably a whole lot less than a dealership would charge. This place will get all my mechanical work from now on.
