Overall
Pharmacist you can trust

My youngest daughter recently was prescribed Phenergan - Pronmethanzine by our doctor. I was not told of any side effects just that it would help her vomitting and dierrhea. I have been taking my family to the same doctor for about ten years and trusted his opinion. A short time after the prescription was faxed to the pharmacy I received a call from the nurse telling me not to pick up the prescription because the pharamcist would not fill it. The only explaination that was given to me by the nurse was that it causes bad things to happen in children under 2 years of age. Certainly that explaination did not sit will with me. I called back to the doctor's office to get the correct spelling of the medication and looked up the side effects myself. "Promethazine may cause breathing to slow or stop, and may cause death in children. Promethazine should not be given to babies or children who are under 2 years of age and should be given with caution to children who are 2 years of age and older." (Medline.com) The thought of what could have happened to my child is beyond frightening. If you are looking for pharamacist I would highly recommend Walgreens on State Rd. They prevented a possible fatality.
