only called in - RUDE!

If there was a ZERO rating, i'd give it zero stars.

I called in to this auto center and this guy name JOE was rude, NOT friendly at all. I'm totally new to this car thing- trying to get my emergency brakes looked at and asked for an estimate - i didn't realize you could just have it looked at first, but why waste time driving back and forth with your E lights on? so anyway, i called and he sounded totally condescending.

i hung up on him and called the sears auto on eastridge - omg ANTHONY was totally nice to me! and welcoming, and encouraging, I was really shy about this whole thing at first. But he made me think it'll be worth the drive there, even if Cupertino is a lot closer. i can't wait to try out the eastridge auto center!

sounded good, but wasn't

Had a coupon so went to Sears for an oil change. Was told it would be 40 minutes wait. An hour and 40 min later, I asked about my car. They said that the change is done, but can't figure out how to reset the maintenance required light. After 10 more minutes, it was done.

2 days later the maintenance required light came back on. Had to return to Sears to get that reset properly.

Will never go back there again for an oil change!

Worst Manager I ever dealt with

I believe the manager's name is Rick. There were 3 complaints while my car was there. They all ended up in arguments. Could hear everything from the waiting room. And yes they decided to do the wrong service on my car and yes the manager was a jerk with me, too! Do Sears not care about customer complaints? Never shopping in Sears again.

Bad Service and Tries to upsell unecessary services

This site is weird because it says there are 5 reviews but only shows 2 (including mine). Yelp shows 25 reviews with 2 stars out of 5 but this site shows 4 stars. I wonder if this site gets advertising money from companies that are reviewed like sears. Will be interesting to see if this post stays up.

Sears Automotive at cupertino is horrible. Plan on waiting hours and being upsold services you don't need and have work done by incompetent technicians. I suggest spending some time on yelp like I did to find a reliable automotive repair company.

First Visit:
I only went here because only they had the tires I researched in stock.
I get the tires installed. I had to drop my car off for this because I don't want to wait around for hours.

2nd Visit:
One of the tires develops a slow leak. I have to fill it up every 2 weeks when it drops to 20lbs/pressure. I take it to sears and ask them to find and fix the leak. I also have an oil change done at the same time. After 3 hours of waiting, they couldn't find the leak and just did the oil change (or say they did). I tell them there is definetely a leak and the sales rep says they didn't find it. After the oil change, the rep told me the ""automotive engineer"" told me I needed an alignment and other incorrect upselling services. I tell him nicely that my car does not neet an alignment and that if you can't even find a simple leak in a tire how in the world would I trust your ""engineer"" to do an alignment. Just plain sleezy. I'm sure the reps or people get some kind of commission on upselling. This is what gives auto people bad names.

Now I research on yelp and find another auto store ranked pretty well and take it there. The guys find the leak immediately and says it's in the sidewall and can't be repaired and is a manufacurers defect and should be replaced for free at Sears. The auto guy writes this up on my invoice.

3rd Vist:
I take it to sears upset that I've wasted a lot of time and money dealing with the problem. The rep andrew was nice but said they would have to find the leak. The previous guy marked it and then the finally find the leak. Then the manager guy richard says the tire needs to be replaced because there is a leak in the sidewall (already what the
previous auto guy found). I ask them to replace it for free because it
is a manufactures defect and he says no. I need to go to the manufacturer and get them to issue something. Oh and it took
1.5 hours to find the leak and change a tire. It takes a total of 15 minutes. I also had to wait in line to find out the status which took
another 20 minutes because every person in line takes about
10 minutes for the rep to walk out to the car and type up for like 10 minutes on these dumb computer terminals.

They sell me a defective tire, refuse to replace it under warranty. I'm stuck buying another tire and out a total of $200 and 5.5 hours of time
for a stupid leak in a tire. I will never take my car back here again.

I remember in the 80's when there was a successful class action lawsuit against sears automotive because they would always find
problems that required a minimum of $150 of product. It seems they really haven't changed and are back to the same behavior trying to scare customers into services that are not needed.

I recommend staying clear of this place. I wish they would district attorney would investigate this place and fine them.

Sears Auto Center in Cupertino--OUTSTANDING

Today I had to have 5 tires installed on my 5th wheel trailer. since it is a big rig, most tire shops do not have space to install the tires. Sears in cupertino does and was willing to do the installation. From the time I walked in the door I had great service. A member of the management team stopped what he was doing and greeted me asking what he could do fo me. I told on my need to obtain michelin, Load rand E tires for my 5th wheel. I asked specifically if they would do the installation before we even looked at tires. He said yes, pointed out a great sale going on my kind of tires. He even took me in the basement storage area and showed me the tires. He skillfully passed me on to a
senior member of the sales staff who completed the reservation for the installation.

I arrived early this Saturday morning and we positioned the trailer on the outside of the service bays as the trailer is too high to fit inside the building. A quality technician was assigned to put the tires on and he did in my view a very professional job.

From this experience I highly recommend Sears Auto Center in Cupertino.
