I usually don't start a review by mentioning the service, but Daniel was hands down one of the best servers the Hubs and I have ever had. He was friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and made our first visit to Eight an awesome experience. Two members of the management team also stopped by our table to chat for a moment, and they were very nice as well. I'd go back just for the service. Fortunately, the food was delicious as well. We were super hungry so we tried the scallops (they really did sizzle), sea bass, Explosion roll, and the Westside Roll. Oh yeah, we also tried the calamari. The seafood was flavorful, and even the side order of rice was great. The sushi was tasty. We had a few of their cocktails as well, which were unique and pretty potent (as least they were for me). The ambiance was cool, and I loved the decor. I'm definitely glad they're in the neighborhood, and will be working my way to becoming a regular.
Atlanta Fish Market has, by far, the best Seafood and sushi in the city. I've tried numerous items, including the Hong Kong salmon, friend lobster tail and Greek salad, but the sushi is the real winner. Tyson, the sushi chef sometimes has these specials that are unbelievable. The one I most recently had was the sushi grade salmon over fried ponzu rice, topped with tobiko and a chipotle cream sauce. It was PHENOMENAL. I came back a few days later to get the same thing. The main dining room can be a bit loud, so I opt for the tables near the front of the building next to the windows, or a seat back in the bar area where there's a sushi lounge and a relaxed feel. There's valet parking for $2 which is less expensive than I've seen in this area. The service is always excellent, and the bar tenders are friendly, ready to impress you with your cocktail.
My husband loves a few items off the menu so every now and then we drive clear cross town for it. I've only had a few items from here, one being the teriyaki chicken. It is loaded with shredded vegetables, which I like but overall its not mind blowing. If I'm in the mood for Chinese and I happen to be in the area, I would stop in for a bite but in my opinion its not worth going out of your way for.
It seems that every time I come into Eight they roll out the red carpet to me. The restaurant is never usually full, which is good if you're on a date but at first seemingly awkward. Their nigiri and their ramen are to die for! The pricing is good for what it is, and their lunch specials are amazing food for a decent price. I love being able to walk downstairs to Eight.
Ru Sans at Edgewood is in a convenient location if you live on the Eastside. I would give the food a B+. I often dine there for their lunch buffet. For $12 bucks, they have a full spread of their most popular sushi, tempura veggies, fried calamari(My fav!!), teriyaki chicken and miso soup. It's never overcrowded which makes for a quick drive by on my lunch break!
The restaurant has an Asian flare with bamboo and the open sushi bar. The menu is pricey however it is located in the Buckhead Shops among high end stores. Parking is pretty easy, there's valet and garage parking. I think if you want a more high end experience this is ok but I think there are other sushi restaurants where you don't have to spend as much.
This place is pretty good. The decor is nothing to really boast about, but the food and sushi is really delicious. We had a really new server, so the service wasn't as good as it could have been and it seemed that she was the only one that was working. If you're looking for a quick lunch, it's a good spot, but I wouldn't recommend it for a date night.
Serve beer wine, beer, and sake. Very little pieces of fish are served on a cold, frosted glass sectioned plate. The hot cooked chinese dishes are filled with lots of vegetables and pieces of meats with fresh white rice in a separate white canister. Very clean and organized inside, but a bit too pricey for the small bits of sushi-mi and sushi.
This is definitely one of the places to see and be seen in Atlanta! Their sushi is incredible and their cocktails are pretty great, too. I love coming here with my girls, a date or just for a quick bite to eat. Umm provides guests with a taste of luxury, making them want to come back again and again. One of my favorite sushi spots in the city!
This is the BEST sushi restaurant in Atlanta! The owner is from Japan and fresh fish is flown in from Tokyo. The avocado salad is a special treat. Lively atmosphere with a small but elegant bar area. Reservations a must unless you want to sit at the small counter in the back. Go - even though it is pricey, you won't be disappointed.
