Our Car Wash opened in 1957 - one of the first car washes in Southern California! We still use only our hands to wash your car - no machine scrubbers, pads or brushes that can scratch the paint surface of your car. It costs us a little more but the customer gets a better wash. We take pride in our employees and their work. Over 26 of our employees have worked at Shine & Brite for more than 10 years! All of our employees receive more than the minimum wage because they are professionals and provide special value to our customers. Washing your car at Shine & Brite helps the environment. A person uses between 80 and 150 gallons of water to wash a car (depending on whether they have a shut off nozzle on their hose). We only use 22 gallons of water per car because our initial rinse water is recycled through a clarification system. When you wash your car at home the dirty water goes into the storm drain and ultimately into the Ocean where it contributes to the pollution of the Santa Monica Bay. However, all water at Shine & Brite is directed into the sewer that flows to the El Segundo water reclamation plant where it is thoroughly cleaned before being deposited into the Ocean. You look and feel better when your car is professionally cleaned. We specialize in detailing of cars and we detail more cars than any other car wash in the area. Our detail employees have an average of 10 years detailing experience.
