I've been coming to Trudy's for years, normally for a special occasion because they have the famous Mexican Martini, and a free one on your birthday. The parking here fills up fast but if you're coming at dinner a lot of the other businesses in the lot are closed, which opens up some spots. Just be ready to park on the other side of the lot and walk a little bit. The building itself is pretty cool- it has a lounge feel, the upstairs bar is good for small groups. The outside patio still has pretty good climate control. The booths are huge! It gets pretty loud inside, and you can expect a pretty long wait for dinner Thursday- Saturday. The atmosphere is fun- perfect for parties or group dinners. I like this location better than the one near campus because you don't have quite so many drunk college students. I pretty much stick to the same order every time- Stuffed Avacado with suiza sauce, refried black beans and rice. This entree is soooo good. I'm always a little surprised at how spicy the sauce is (not to mention the complementary salsa), but nothing a Dr Pepper can't handle. I just recently tried the weekend brunch and was pleasantly surprised. I normally don't like buffets at all. The salad bar is small but stocked with good stuff, and the homemade chipotle ranch is divine. The fruit was fresh and sweet. There's queso and tortilla soup available. On the hot buffet line, I tried a little bit of everything, but since I was there later, I didn't try as many of the breakfast items- there's migas, hashbrowns, and other breakfasty items. I reallly liked the mushroom enchiladas, mini stuffed poblano peppers and mini stuffed avacados. Then there's little dessert items, including flan, tres leches, cobbler, and cookie squares. I tried the cookie squares because I was really full after everything else. The buffet was 11.95, including a drink. I normally get the stuffed avacado which is 11 alone, plus a drink. So I'd say that the buffet is a pretty awesome value for what you get.
GREAT food...Good prices. I tried the ALL AMERICAN breakfast plate and it was great. I went back for lunch and I had the Beef Enchiladas and it was delicious. I highly recommend this place.
The food is really good. The hot sauce and the verde sauce are delicious with a little bite to it (burn). Margaritas are tasty and pretty cheap. (Especially at Happy Hour) And Mariachi Sunday is hilarious.
I have gone to Fuegos a couple of times because it's in the 'hood, but this last time was so above-and-beyond good, I just had to share. I can't stop marveling about how great the fish sandwich was. I know this place doesn't get a lot of traffic because of the weird location, but it's definitely…

I cannot figure out why I keep going here. Honestly, they have gotten my order correct 1 out each 10 times I go - if that. I even ordered extra cheese for my tacos (because they consider 5 strands of cheese an official ingredient) and was happy to pay $1 for it (ok, not really happy) - what do…
food was awesome and the staff was very nice we went a little early on sat to avoid the crowd. the queso was very good. Although i love spicy food the salsa was super hot this time but the margaritas were on special for 4.50 no bad for a sat.
Not quite your traditional foods, but this mexican girl was very happy with the deep fried chicken taquitos and the ranchero sauce was divine... muy delicioso. and great location for a date. alamo movie and dinner at Flores
God Bless Rita's Restaurant!!!! I'm so glad I found them in Austin. Im a Mexican woman from Monterrey, Mexico, I have move in to Austin since 4 months ago. And After eating in Chuys, Gueros, Trudys and all the so called ""Mexican Food Restaurants"" which for me they are more like Tex-Mex food re…
This place has great Mexican Food! I love the salsa bar and the fun environment! The food comes out fast, hot, and fresh! Delicious Mexican Food!!! Every time we come to Zuzu's Handmade Mexican Food, we have an excellent meal! I would recommend the shrimp tacos! mmmmmm yummy!!! Oh yeah, great …
Was at the hotel next door for a board meeting. There were about 6 of us who arrived the evening before so we went together to Pappcitas. The place was really busy but our wait was fairly short. The staff were great, the menu had lots of choices & our waitress was great telling us details when we asked questions. The "Adult Beverages" were made by an experienced bartender. When we got our food it was very good and obviously not been left sitting, the meats were still sizzling. We agreed we would go back when we go to our next meeting.
I've been there twice the food was pretty good yesterday I went with a bunch of girlfriends we had happy hour margaritas the first margarita was awful so so I pick top. Shelf tequila el patron it was really good but it was $10 and was really small. So much for happy hour prices I didn't mind the $10 margarita but it sure was small I will continue to go there because I think its a nice restaurant and the food is great but I won't be ordering margaritas the waiting staff was excellent . The atmosphere was wonderful also. Thanks for reading
The northwest Austin Arboretum location is great for business lunches or happy hour. Small two-person high-top tables next to the bar are first come first served and great for times when there's a long wait for table seating. The Z’ Burger is probably one of the top 10 burgers in Austin, with a great bun, despite it being priced slightly on the high side when adding cheese. Service is not exemplary, but by all means prompt, thorough, and most oftentimes, friendly.
You can mix and match up to 3 fillings for a $2 breakfast taco (additional ingredients cost extra, corn and flour tortillas available). Ingredients include spicy sausage, eggs, cheese, beans, bacon, potato and more. The tacos were delicious and their red sauce has got a kick to it. The service can be iffy, so I would ask whoever takes your order to repeat it back to you so that you make sure you're not paying for things that you didn't ask for.
Let me just say the fajitas beef were to die for!!! Oh and the tortillas made fresh were delicious also. Came here with friends while visiting them from California. Really wish we had this place out here. They have a melted butter you can dip or pour on your food that is so good and flavorful. Adds so much more to the already delicious food. The bacon wrapped jalapeño shrimp was also very good.
This place was awesome! The service was great and the food was good. I have been a fan of Baby Acapulcos for years. I celebrate my birthday there yearly for the last 5 years and I go there with my friend and family when I want to show them a good time. The Purple Margarita is nectar of the gods! I will go back again and again.
We were craving a late breakfast and The places we wanted to try were closed so we pulled I here because of the full parking lot. We ordered a whole chicken meal: grilled chicken with rice and bean. This is awesome grilled chicken, very tasty and very ethnic. And the staff are so friendly today. Y'all come and enjoy.
Great tex Mex. We got the steak burrito, chika chika boom boom and fries fish tacos and they were all very very good. Won't be disappointed. Might have to wait a little for a seat, but they have a nice air conditioned wait area and a chip and salsa bar that is very good. My little kids loved it too
They have tons of parking and a huge happy hour area where you can get drinks or have some appetizers while you wait for a table. Great place for after work drinks, family dinner, or even just lunch. You can also get anything to go and take it over to the park which is nice in the spring/summer.
