It also brews lagers and ales in small batches, handcrafted by a team of professional workers. Abita Brewing Company uses a variety of ingredients, such as British and American barley, German yeast, European and Washington state hops and pure artesian water of Abita Springs, La. The beer has no preservatives, additives or stabilizers, and is cold filtered. The company uses a variety of malts that include pale, crystal, Munich, white wheat and chocolate. The firm cultures yeast from strains developed by German brewers. Abita Brewing Company is located in Abita Springs.

        Wonderful way to have fun and spend NO money

        If you are 21 and over and haven't checked out the Abita Brewery, then you are seriously missing out! Connected to the brewery they set up an area and modeled it after a very nice pub: hard-wood floors, leather couches, plasma TVS. Then they have all of their beers on tap and they give you a cup and let you drink however much you want! While drinking, they show a short video on how the make their beer and you even get to go peak inside the actual plant. They also have a very nice outdoor seating area that you can hang around and mingle. They have tours every day and it is completely free! So next time you are strapped for cash and you are on the Northshore, go check out this local gem!
