Express Communication

On 12-31-09 I went to this store to look for a new cell phone case. After choosing a cell phone case, I gave the store clerk a store credit, which I had and wanted to use on the purchase. **The store credit was from last Nov, after I showed the store clerk my cell phone and he sold me a case to use with that particular phone. After a day of using the case I realized that the case didn't fit the phone properly and was setting off my Internet button costing me Internet charges. I immediately returned the case and asked to purchase another one that fit the phone properly. The store clerk didn't have another case to fit the phone. I requested my money back; the store clerk refused but offered a store credit. The store credit, which was issued on company letterhead showing the date, the item returned the amounts and store clerk signature, also attached was the proof of purchase (credit card receipt). After looking at the store credit, I asked the store clerk when it expired and the clerk said to come back and use it whenever** So back to current on 12-31-09 I'm now at the store ready to purchase a new cell phone case because the one I was using is now worn out and not holding the phone properly. To make an extremely long story short.... After showing the store credit, the two store clerks, (who appeared to be owners) gave me four completely different excuses as to why they would not honor their store credit. 1. I was told that the store credit had expired although there was no listed expiration date and although I had asked the store clerk at the time and they said it was good till whenever I wanted to use it. 2. I was told that the person who issued me the store credit no longer worked there so they would not honor it. 3. I was told that the store had changed names b/c they added an "s" to the end of their name, although the sign on the glass at the front of the store stated the same company name as my paper work. The store clerk said that they didn't change the sign just the name. 4. The store clerk said that they were new owners and that the store credit was issued by the previous owner. A series of excuses typically means that someone is lying. The store clerk never offered any proof to validate that any of these 4 excuses were true. While discussing the issue with the two store clerks, they threatened to call the police on me at lest 4 different times, they yelled that it wasn't their problem. I told them that I would stay and wait for the police to show up and discuss it with them personally. At one point the store owner told me to call the people who issued the store credit, so I did just that, I called the phone number listed on my paper work, and “shockingly” the store phone began to ring, yet the owner wasn’t smart enough to realize it was me calling the people who issued the store credit, so the owner answered the phone. I was polite, and respectful, yet stern, but was treated rudely and eventually left without getting the store credit of $13.86 honored. I told the store clerks that I would post the issue online, on as many review sites as possible and tell all friends and family and that is exactly what I am doing. I WILL NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN AND I WILL SPREAD THE WORD TO EVERYONE I KNOW. They were rude, disrespectful, told me a series of excuses and refused to stand behind their store credit.
