So this was my first classic car buying experience. Should have paid a little less for what I got, should have gotten a little more for what I paid. Regardless, I started searching for a quality shop to help me get the car to where I wanted it to be. I went online, read some reviews, and after seeing countless 5-star ratings, I ended up at Full Throttle.Upon my first visit, I was greeted with a warm smile and a firm handshake from the owner and master mechanic Ray. We talked about what I had and what I thought needed to be done to it. Then Ray preceded to take my car for a spin. "I could tell you five things there are wrong with it before I got it to the end of the driveway," those were his first words when he got back, and I then realized that what I thought and what actually was wrong were two completely different things. We then decided to do a full inspection of the car to see exactly what needed done.We took a seat in his office and instead of throwing options and prices in my face and trying to get me to spend as much money as possible, he presented to me a well organized list of what needed to be done, in order of priority. From there I left my car for the first round of repairs. The cost was exactly as predicted and the quality of work exceeded my expectations.From then on I was hooked, their customer service and professional work keeps me coming back for any problem large or small. You can really tell that Ray and his entire staff are committed to keeping you happy and to giving you the best quality service possible. I even became friends with the entire staff(which wasn't hard because they are all so friendly), and regularly pop in and out for visits even when my car isn't there.
This is the only 5 star rating I have ever given to any retail outlet. and here's why, your manager at this AutoZone on Harbor blvd. in Costa Mesa, is truly an asset for you. He is knowledgable, not just with your products, but with automotive repair as well. Genuine bonified HELP! Are you kidding me, did I just wake up in a dream... Actual Customer Service... really. Yes, really, with a willingness to help, can't tell you how many times I have walked into a store, as well as many other auto parts stores, and here "i'm really not sure, or well i see a lot of people buying this one, or was it this one, well they're both good" and as I am turning to leave I notice his veteran Employee tag, we won't name that store but they could've named it mopey, dopey, and grumpy. You Manager is exceeding your customers expectations, which just doesn't happen very often anywhere any more. My wife and I have been looking to purchase a new vehicle for over a year, simply because we weren't in a rush. It took that long to narrow it down to the car we wanted, which was a Honda CR-VWe ended up buying from Auto Nation Honda in Costa Mesa, because the dealership was local (3 miles from our home); The GM didn't waste my time haggling over price, because we had done our homework; and the sales team was professional and attentive to details, relevant to the car buying experience.We were pre-approved from our credit bank, which this dealership was partnered with, so this made the purchase experience all that better and something I would encourage all to do. Meaning get pre-approved before purchasing a vehicle from any dealership.We spent a little bit more than I had planned on, because we purchased the only CR-V SE AWD (Special Edition All Wheel Drive) model they had on the lot, that just happened to be in a color we liked.So what more can I or my wife say, but that we were quite pleased with the GM, Uday our sales guy, as well as with the fellow handling our paperwork. Today I picked up my Mercedes S430 sedan from Maurice. The car was well do for some serious care. It has about 85,000 miles on it and is in very good even excellent cosmetic shape. That was not the case mechanically until today.Lead shop mechanic Chris Mattox took on the extensive work necessary for my car. Necessary because of miles, not neglect. The car ran well when it went to the shop.Today it runs better than it did the day I drove it off the dealer lot. It is so smooth and quiet that inside the car, it is hard to know that it is running. All of its seeping leaks are gone, fluids fresh, seals replaced, front end suspension absolutely perfect (no pull of any kind), just a pleasure to drive.It is significant to note that Chris did the work while Maurice was out of town and while he was charged with managing the shop. Still, my car is PERFECT. My sincere thanks to Chris Mattox and to the Maurice team. What a tremendous job, superbly done.
Hands down the best auto shop I've ever had the pleasure of going to! I have never seen a mechanic shop work so fast yet so incredibly well. I smashed my Subaru Impreza Sport into a telephone pole and it was pretty bad! I called and Michael answered the phone, answered all my questions. Serhat the mechanic even came and picked up my car for me and began work that day. The price is just unseen anywhere in Southern California. I would trust these gentlemen with my fathers BMW M5 and Benz S550! The customer service topped it all off for me. They called me and let me know every day how things were coming along. Serhat had my car done in 3 days and it's absolutely gorgeous! I recommend if you ever have a problem with your vehicle you bring it to these guys! They hands down get A's across the board and I know when I go to mod my car they will be the gentleman to do it! I trust them with my life! Thank you so much you guys, you're life savers
An honest mechanic is hard to find. I've been to Maurice for a few repairs and I know how expensive things can get when you have a 25 year old car. I've had my motor mounts and a flex seal on the back of my 1988 300E done there. I believe I saved about $200 over what Fletcher Jones quoted. It needs a few more things to be perfect but it runs like a tank. I know that when I have a simple problem with idle or stalling that Maurice will give me an accurate diagnosis. Jose the mechanic is awesome and knows his stuff; I'm sure the other mechanics there are great too. I'm still trying to finish school and am on a limited budget so I appreciate what this place has to offer. On another note its not too often that you go to get work done on your car then get invited to a barbecue at the facility during the weekend.
I've known Maurice since the 80's and have never had a reason to take my cars anywhere but to him. He provides excellent work at a fair price. When he quotes a time for the work to be completed, you can set your clock to it. I really can't compare what a dealer would charge as I've never considered taking my vehicles to a dealer, but I decided to check the difference today. I have my car at Maurice's as I write this. Total parts and labor for this particular issue is $400. I called Fletcher Jones and they quoted me $1,700. I think that about tells the story. This is the longest standing business relationship I have.....for a reason.
I had this steering problem in my benz for a year and had taken my fairly new car to the dealer and several mechanics and no one could figure the darn thing out. Maurice fixed the steering and the breaks the very next day - like how pros behave! He has a lot of integrity! I paid my bill and left to run errands. Several hours later I reached into my purse and found his Iphone (identical to mine) . I figured I must of picked it up off his desk - so I drove it back to him and he was kind enough to give me a nice bottle of wine for my honesty. This guy is a good man! He is also a big fan of turtles and his loving family.
