These people are very nice. They go out of their way to please. Unfortunately when something comes back damaged, it cant just be refunded. They have a sign that if the refund is more than 100 dollars a check will be sent out. The people are just following rules that the owners have set out. Probably she took long because she was the one that convinced the higher ups to do more for that customer and your complaining.
Have always tried to support our local Sutherlands until yesterday. Manager Sandra Calvo left 3 of my contractors waiting 45 min when they tried to return a damaged door, with receipt in hand (we had purchased over $600 the day prior). I personally had to go to store and I was left standing there for over 10 additional minutes. I nor my contractor has ever had a problem returning an item. Sandra came up offering no apologies or explanation. Unfortunately, we had just begun a remodeling job and will now be using Home Depot. What a shame.
Poor Customer Service.
Went to get lumber for my husband to build his outdoor furniture. The grade of lumber we needed was higher up. The other lumber had been picked over and was not adequate. The gentleman was very nice and went and got a step ladder to help us. The lady came around was EXTREMELY rude. Said we had to use the other stuff. He tried to explain it was warped and picked over she wouldn't listen. My husband is in a w/c. I guess she expected me to climb to the back. We left and found everything we needed at Lowes including good customer service. Will not be back and we buy a lot of lumber.

Rented a blow-in insulation machine, took it home set it all up put a bag of insulation in; machine didn't work. Called the store they said, ""oh yeah we've been having trouble with that machine sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, go ahead and bring it in we'll switch it out. Now I live 20 miles away and now I have to go back? Well I get there I tell the guy I want my time extended and a 10% discount for having to come back. Got the time extended, but no discount, cause the SERVICE COUNTER MANAGER couldn't make the moral decision as well as the ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER to give me one. Why are these people left in charge? They can't make a managerial decision w/out the Store Managers consent? Need home improvement materials I suggest you go to Lowes or Home Depot for your home improvement needs. So what was suppose to be a 40 mile round trip ended up being a 100 mile round trip. Didn't even get a, ""we're sorry"".
