Went shopping for some hard to find books at my (previously) favorite Half Price bookstore in Corpus yesterday...and was embarrassed to no end when my husband, who is a decorated war veteran, ex deputy, and concealed handgun license holder was asked to leave the store by some snotty, never accomplished anything for her country sales clerk because his gun was showing under his shirt...we are RESPONSIBLE gun owners (hence the CHL license) and we always check store windows before entering with our hand guns but even though we were pointed out the signs after the fact, this establishment had them posted at ground level (wrong) and in a black out window so they can not be seen from the outside. If you are going to be overly paranoid and harass honest, law abiding citizens then you need to follow the protocol of the laws as well and post your signs in plain view...and since it was a misunderstanding they should have been cordial enough to listen to our side instead of embarrassing us like we were common criminals and having multiple store members standing at the door to escort us out. Seriously, if they were that concerned that we were crooks then they would have called the police instead of causing an unnecessary scene just to stroke their egos. This establishment needs to have its staff take a class on policies and procedures and have them revisit what is means to be in the customer service industry while they are at it.
