Balboa's Pet Store

Hi My name is Katherine Stewart, I saw that someone not to long ago posted about Balboa's Pet Shop. The public and animal Control if they haven't already, need to know how this place is ran . It's filthy, it stinks, animals are crammed in small cages. My experience was enough. I told the guy that I wasn't going to do this, but it seems like I'm going to have to. I know there has been a lot of talk about Balboa's Pet Shop and their mistreatment of animals. I went in looking for birds and I saw a Parakeet that was horribly injured covered in blood. I offered to buy it or make a deal to get it out of there and into a good home and the guy refused to sell it to me saying he can rehabilitate over at the store. I offered to pay full price for an injured bird to be put in the safety of my home and he refused to sell it to me and just put it in a different cage, probably afraid that I was going to take pictures and post them over the internet. That wasn't my intent, my intent was getting the bird and taking him home where he was safe and cared for. These people obviously are trying to save their asses rather than the welfare of the animals. He refused therefore I will speak out. I want to get that bird out of there as well as the bothered injured ones and I know animal control has already been by there. All these birds and animals are obviously stressed and it smells horrid...this place needs to be closed down! They have signs all over their front door saying no cameras allowed, what do they have to hide right? There were plenty others that were injured from fighting from being to cramped with so many birds. These animals are not socialized and some are very mean and they are way over priced. I will be making a phone call to Animal Control again tomorrow morning I hope this gets around to him. This may not seem like a new story, but these animals need help and they need a voice...Thank you for at least taking the time to read.

Animals are well kept, and they don't sell cats this place actually takes them in when people abandon them on doorstep. Saw some comments on a web page that were so untrue. Mostly ex-employees and folks that make quick assumptions without asking questions if concerned. It is a small petshop but they do care for animals. That is the reason why MR.BALBOA opened this shop over 6 years ago. Cust. Service excellent, knowledgeable .
