After calling about six repairs shops, I found Thomas Exxon was the only shop that would install customer-provided parts. They didn't think twice about installing my parts. My appointment was at 8:00am on April 14, 2016. I dropped the car off at 8:00am to have them install motor mounts and a cra…

When a car is damaged by an accident or weather, what can be repaired and what must be replaced? Or is it time to buy a new car?
No matter whether an accident involved a freshly licensed teen or an experienced driver, knowing what to do (or not do) is essential to bouncing back.
All it takes is a little preparation to get your car winter-ready and to keep from getting into an icy situation.
I called Frank and asked him if he could possibly fix my truck. I paid somebody else to put an hub assembly on it but the guy didnt do the job correctly and i almost got killed on the harbor bridge. After alot of expenses of tow truck fees i started looking on the internet for mobil mechanics and i seen Frank had all 5 star ratings so i decided to give him a call. This mechanic went well out of his way to get the part that i needed and that was purchased in Portland and there was another part that was needed that the stores dont carry so Frank and his friend went out of their way to give me a ride into Corpus to the Dodge dealership to get that part and way out here again to my apt on North Beach. If anybody is looking for a mechanic this is the man to do the job. He also told me parts that i need to replace soon. Also i was given a receipt for the work that was done. DONTJUST GO TO AANYBODY TO DO WORK ON YOUR CARS OR TRUCKS CUZ LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED TO ME!!! I would recommend Frank to do all your car or truck needs. I will recommend him to everybody!!! You need the job done correctly or else you will be in the same situation as i was. FRANK THANKS SO MUCH FOR COMING TO MY PLACE AND DOING AN EXCELLENT JOB!!!! YOUR THE BEST AND YOU WILL BE HEARING FROM ME AGAIN. THANKS TAMMY
Hi my name is Vanessa and I'm a student at TAMUCC and my car is the most important piece of machinery, aside from my laptop, that I own. I had no idea what was wrong with it other than it was telling me to stop the engine when I tried to drive it. Luckily I came across Frank's Mobile Auto on the internet and decided to give him a call. This seemed the best option for me since my parents are over 150 miles away and I couldn't afford to have it towed to a mechanic. Instead Frank came to me and my car and was able to tell me right away what was wrong with it. Once the replacement part came in he was extremely fast at repairing it for me. Had I known about Frank throughout these few years I've been going to school here, I would have not panicked and just called Frank the Mechanic. I will definitely call him if something should happen to my car. I also liked how he explained everything to me and showed me what he was doing when he was running tests on it. I fully recommend Frank. Thank you.
My truck busted a u-joint in Sinton on my way to Corpus Christi late on a Saturday afternoon. While in the tow truck, I called ahead and told them what had happened and I was assured that they would stay and take care of it for me. When I arrived they had already ordered the parts for my truck and immediately started on the repair. The total time from my arrival to back on the road was less than an hour. Unbelievable service!!! Now, I am from Round Rock TX and am unlikely to need service from them anytime soon, but I can encourage everyone else to give them a chance. Visit these people for your automotive repairs, they are honest, competitively priced and are friendly as can be. They are also AAA approved which is not an easy accreditation to get and maintain. Good automotive repair shops are hard to find and if they were not any good at what they do they would already be gone!! Thank you Mastertech!!
My husband and I have been going to Mastertech for over 8 years and we wouldn't go to anyone else. Everyone has always treated us fairly and given good service. Vehicles get fixed when they say they will and no problem after they have worked on them. They will call us before they replace any part they feel should be replaced so we know before hand how much it will cost and they will show us the bad part they took out when we pick up the car. Can't say enough about all of them and would recommend to anyone. This morning I was there for my regular service and was told that my air filter looked a little dusty and Andy said I just vacuumed it off for you it didn't need replacing yet maybe next service it will. Where else would you go to get service like that?Well done guys! Thank you!
I'd like to brag on Frank and his mobile auto service. I am from out of town and this last Saturday I was up there for the C2C Run. I was heading to the hotel around 6 when my truck lost power and I had to pull off the highway into a gas station parking lot. After looking up reviews I called Frank, after normal hours, and he agreed to take a look. He arrived within 20 minutes and knew exactly what was wrong as soon as I started it up. He told me my options and was very honest with me, an hour later I was back on the road. The service was not only professional but very very reasonably priced. I will be recommending Frank to all my friends in Corpus and anyone else who has car trouble in and around that area. Thank you Frank
After having to get my car from one repair shop to Goodyear, I was really frazzled. However, the guys here were really nice and checked my car for the issue the other guys told me was going to take $250 to fix and they told me that everything was fine with my car and that maybe the drive from the one repair shop to theirs might have juiced up my battery. They told me they'd keep it overnight and check it again in the morning and go from there. Since I wasn't going to have my car, their complementary shuttle took me back to my apartment and will pick me up to take me back to store once everything gets settled with my car. Both of the guys who talked to me were pleasant and really understanding of my situation.
I was referred to Mr.Frank by my girlfriend when my alternator had gone out, he had done some work for her rather recently & she had nothing but great things to say so it was easy for me to call him. However I didn't realize just how good he was. I called him Sunday night, scheduled & met me the next morning at 10 am took me to Autozone to get the part , basically handled them for me as well as the labor for my alternator. I was very impressed by how nice he was how quick and knowledgable he was. super good michanic super nice guy fast and efficient. there is absolutely no reason not to call him!! thanks Frank! God Bless
My wife and I have been bringing our cars to Andy for nearly 15 years now and wouldnt go anywhere else. Andy treats us fairly, his technicians do high quality work, his rates are very reasonable and above all he is honest. Often times when we bring our cars in for service he will tell us not to fix every little item as it can be repaired for the same price later on if it gets worse. We brought our car in two weeks ago thinking both sets of brakes needed to be replaced and as it turns out the back brakes just needed to be cleaned out which Andy did free of charge. Who else in town would have done that? Phil
The Motto says it all about this company,"Where Honesty and Integrity Still Matter". The best people, very friendly and HONEST, which is very rare today. If you think you are having a problem with your transmission, this is the place you need to take your car. Another big plus is that they didn't treat me like "a dumb blonde" when I came in and told them my trans was slipping, DO NOT GO ANY WHERE ELSE, why trust your car to someone you can't trust? You can trust Great State Transmission. The only thing is that they are NOT open on Saturday. BIG FIVE STARS TO DON AND TRACIE.......(Teri from Rockport, TX.)
I highly recommend Frank's Mobile Auto. He was professional, prompt, competitive and courteous. We were in a bind when someone recommended Frank. It was late on the weekend and my daughter had to leave first thing Monday morning. The alternator went out on a vehicle that is difficult to replace the part. She was stuck at the parts store. I was skeptical that she could meet her schedule. Frank came through. He had it fixed same day, quickly and good price. He even purchased some parts and added to the bill without a markup. Again, I highly recommend Frank. If additional work is needed, Frank is our auto mechanic.
There are more than 700,000 auto service technicians and mechanics in the U.S. Finding the right one to repair a dent in your car door or fix an engine that won't start can be overwhelming, especially when it's an emergency. Review a few important facts about auto repair professionals and what you can do to get the best possible mechanic working on your vehicle's issues for a fair price.
Looking For Reliability
Unlike home repair services that evaluate a property, meet with homeowners and have time to prepare before their physical work begins, auto repair businesses are often asked to make fixes on the spot. If you come into a garage with a tire issue, the expectation is the mechanic will know how to correct that problem quickly.
That is why reliability is so vital when searching for a trusted auto repair shop. It may take going to several different mechanics before you find one you are truly comfortable with. Pose questions to this professional to find out what approach they will take to repair your car or what alternatives are available. Shopping around also gives you the best opportunity to find the cheapest rate or the fastest service, as some garages may be backed up with other vehicles that need repair first.
A recommended way to locate a trustworthy auto repair professional is to seek out customer reviews. Online sites offer honest opinions from real customers who have used a business. Read through this feedback to learn how a business operates and what you can expect if you were to take your vehicle there. Look for reviews about how quick maintenance was completed and if prices were fair. By learning what other people have said about a garage, you can gain a better idea if it's the right place to go when you have a car problem in need of fixing.
It can be difficult to know which automotive problems are serious enough to require expert assistance. A ripped seat cushion or broken radio don't involve safety and will not warrant enough of a problem that going into a garage is required. However, setbacks with brakes, lights and other parts that are vital to the safety of your car's driver and passengers, as well as others on the road, necessitate quick fixes. Many modern automobiles will notify drivers of an issue, in the form of a signal on the dashboard or a noise within the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, even if your vehicle does not appear to have any damage on the outside, it is generally recommended that you see a trusted auto repair professional. Internal damage may have occurred, or an important part may have been knocked out of place. Fixing these issues before driving much further can prevent further vehicle breakdowns in the future. In the case of a serious accident, a body shop can assess the problems and determine the best course of action for repairs, as well as evaluate how much they will cost.
Beyond that, regular checkups are recommended. Tires must be rotated, fluids needs to be replaced and the engine must be evaluated. After driving 25,000 miles, most auto dealers suggest having the vehicle checked out to ensure everything is running smoothly. Taking the car into the auto repair professional you trust will protect you from further problems down the road.
Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop. At the same time, be aware of mechanic scams that can impact your experience.
Preventing Trips To The Professional
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage. By handling these types of tasks on your own, you'll gain a better understanding for how your car operates and save time and money.
Along with understanding how to fix manageable vehicle issues that may arise, taking preventative measures to avoid future problems is a valuable time saver. Many problem-solving best practices are related to the seasons. Your vehicle will be in different conditions in the winter than in the summer, meaning it requires a different type of preparation.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures the vehicle will be exposed to, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check your tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
There is a common worry among many people that auto repair professionals take advantage of the general public. Because so many people are unaware of how to fix the problems in their vehicle, they are nervous of being overcharged by mechanics or worried that the improper work is being done.
While the great majority of professionals in the industry are honest, hard-working people, a few bad apples can ruin everything. You should be extra careful when first visiting a mechanic to guarantee that the price you're charged and maintenance the vehicle receives are fair.
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you are in the shop and your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill.
The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done. That way, you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
By working closely with an auto repair professional and doing some of the tune-up work on your own, you will be less likely to fall for these scams. At the same time, you'll be able to drive out with a clean and healthy vehicle, thanks to the repairs made by a trained professional.
