Each time I have gone there the staff seems unhappy. I heard a lady yelling at a poor child I looked in the room she saw me and looked surprised. They don't have a teacher for the toddlers. I taught my toddler the alphabet I still have yet to see my child come home knowing something I did not teach my child. My child would always come home with scratches and bite marks and they do not know how to deal with those kind of situations properly at all. in fact they do not even know how it happened but I thought they always had a close eye on them. The cafeteria last is always screaming at the children and they don't give them enough time to eat. Speaking of food these people know nothing about nutrition. They give babies these unhealthy waffles for beakfast its sad. They also give them fruit in syrup as a fruit replacement. A bunch of crap. Okay and the manager she was really friendly in the beginning but later started showing her true colors. You can tell that there is maybe 2 people there that actually like children the rest of the staff just sees "job =$“ okay besides that okay its cheaper than the better daycares. Not quite as horrible as Bethune . Its questionable only because the person in charge of watching the cameras is usually not. So there daycare workers get away with yelling and possibly could abuse a child and no one would know esp with the little ones that cant talk. However yes you can walk in there at whatever time you please but they know you are going in and they can easily put on a face. Some of the workers there are just plain rude. The only possitive thing I have to say is that I would choose BCDC over Bethune any day. I forgot to mention that they don't even have toys and most of the toys are worn and nasty whatever they have of them. They also need to concentrate on teaching children good morals and lifeskills. Sharing, friendliness, courage , respect... so that corpus canhave better people in it. I suppose that is the difference in growing up in a smaller town in a different state we are taught to eat healthy and life skills and morals since we are young. Then people wonder why all those bad things happen on the news and why Corpus Christi has one of the highest rate in obesity... look all I am saying is if they changed all those things and hired peolple that loved children and were caring not just because they have their cpr and first aid certificate which by the way the people there are not even required to have one at least I don't believe so. Youmay be offended but frankly I am being hhonest and if thinking that being a caring person, having good work ethics and eating healthy is rude then sorry I can't help you change your way of thought but its truly a sad way of life for a child to learn that type of behaviour an lifestill..

I am not sure that the previous ratings apply to the current management at Silver Spoon. My toddler started daycare at 2 months old and was at the same daycare until one month ago. The previous day care began complaining that he would not engage and would not listen, yet when I asked the teacher what was going on she would say I think I am too lenient with him because he is so cute. So pretty much he was calling the shots, they created a monster and now expected me to correct the problem. I finally got fed up and pulled him from there. I moved him to another day care who apparently did not take the time to engage him in activities and called me 2 - 3 times the first two days. Upon recommendation from my cousin, whose child used to be cared for by Ms. Perez (new director) in her home, I contacted Silver Spoon and was beyond impressed. The day is started with breakfast, the pledge and a prayer. My 2 year old is now starting to recite his ABC's and count objects (something he refused to do before). Their meals are well balanced. I am impressed by the progress my child has made in just one month and he LOVES attending. I have yet to leave him crying. I recommend anyone looking for quality day care you contact Silver Spoon. I do not have a single complaint or concern and know my child is well cared for.
Poor Structure? Unsteady staff? And No Consistency? Hmm.. Okay. Well first of all... I have been a regular at Bay Area since my son was a baby.. He is now in the 4 & 5 year old classroom.. I have NEVER had any problems with this daycare.. POOR STRUCTURE? Through out every classroom he has been in he has learned so much from his ABC'S to his numbers 1-50 etc. The teachers even challenge the kids which is good because it allows them to know more when they hit big school. UNSTEADY STAFF? My son has had the same teachers since he's been there! AN NO CURRICULUM? Before you walk into the classroom there is a curriculum board that tells me what my child does every month.. Every day we sit down and go over all the work my son brings to me.. that's our time :) This is all an all the BEST DAYCARE! I would recommend all family and friends to attend this daycare because in the end you will NOT regret it :D
My daughter has attended 3 different daycare's in the past 2 months due to situations that were never looked at and solved. I had heard good things about Bay Area by some friends that still attend there and have been there for quite some time. My daughter and I went in to get a tour of the school and the director was very sweet and welcoming to us. I enrolled her that day and started the next coming week. We have been at this daycare for 2 months now and we LOVE IT! Any problem or concern that I may have gets looked at and solved that moment. Bringing my daughter here was a great choice! Thank you Bay Area for for all that you do for us and our kids! :)
I love this daycare!!!! So family oriented!!! The only people that really have a problem with this place are the one's that don't want to pay for child care and expect everything for free. The teachers really care about the children and even go out of their way to please the parents. they are open from 6:30am to 6:00pm and I can drop my child off at anytime. they have passed every licensing requirement. And I have never heard of any beetle bug infestation. The director has always be kind and my child always insists on say good-bye to her every time we leave . and if I have any problem she or the supervisor are always there to talk too!!
I honestly love this day care my kids went to a day care before here in corpus red barn and everyday my daughter cried my daughter has learned so much she sings songs counts colors and her teacher is really nice i was so scared to leave my kids at another day care after the red barn situation my son is famous there lol all the teachers love him and he feels comfortable there i think this day care is a great choice for children
The director is very professional and is attentive towards parents concerns. She expresses compassion and loves the children ahe cares for. She spends alot of hours at the facility. However, some daycare workers appearances are unprofessional with tattoos and hickies exposed on their necks, which is not appealing. Overall, my child enjoys his daycare!
Just recently started bringing my 18 month old baby to Bay Area. So far I have had no problems. The teachers are very caring towards my daughter, Every day they provide me with a slip that tells me everything that they have given her and times. It has all been on schedule so I feel a lot happier knowing that while I'm working my daughter is okay.
My child has been enrolled with Bay Area for 2 years now. My child is 3 years old and she loves it! She brings home her artwork and the things she learned for that day. The 3 year old teacher is very friendly , loving, and caring towards my child. I have never had any problems with this daycare. I recommend this daycare to everyone.
I have had my daughter there since she was a couple months old and she is 2 now. She is very happy and learns daily. There was a point when the some of the staff was not helpful and they were not following proper procedures. But now they have a new manager and staff members. I am extremely happy with all of the recent changes.
