Services: Tool & Equipment Rental
I've read all the negative reviews, but I have used these guys several times. Up until today, I have had no problems. Today a machine I rented, for two days, had an issue after three hours of use. When I took it back every person there expressed regret. I was not blamed for the breakdown! My entire fee was returned! When I said that I wouldn't mind paying for the three hours I did get, I was told "no, we would just rather you come back!" I will be happy to go back. I couldn't be happier. Great outfit!!!
These guys are terrible. Let you reserve something then don't have it or bring it way late. No apologies No discount Don't care. Won't rent there again.
This is a family owned and run business and I have rented mostly cars from them. They have been extremely good to me, going to mat with Hertz when necessary to keep me happy. I'm surprised by some of the critical reviews because the customers I see in there seem to have a great relationship with them all, including their two very cool dogs. Easily a 5 star gig for me.

Provided by Citysearch -On June 27, 2011 I rented, by phone, a 5"" wood chipper for two days starting the next day. When my employee went to pick up the machine he asked them to check the oil in the engine and the pressure of the tires because of bad previous experiences dealing with their equipment. My employee and his nephew both saw that the machine had dirty and insufficient oil and that the tires were not inflated properly.
In retrospect, we should've asked for the maintenance record of the machine.
My employee and his nephew used the chipper the first day with no problems. At the beginning of the second day the machine stopped working. He took it back to the rental place and was told that he had broken the drum drive belt and that the cost of it wasn't included in the Damage Waiver.
I called them as soon as I got home and heard of what happened. They refused to refund me for the second day of rental and insisted that I have to pay for the broken drum drive belt.
I looked at the contract and they have written on it the following:
""Warring damage waiver does not cover drum drive belt!!!!!
If you jam the unit and run it the belt will brake!!!!!!!.""
When I saw that warning written in the contract, which they didn't mention to me when I called to rent the machine, I realized that this happens all the time. Either the machine isn't any good or they are not maintaining it properly like they should.
By the lack of oil in the engine and proper pressure tire when we first got the machine, I am inclined to think that they do not maintain their equipment as they should and then blame the customer and expect us to pay for regular maintenance.
They would not admit the the belt is regular maintenance. They hanged up the phone on me several times and the last time they answered left me holding forever.
THESE ARE RUDE AND DISHONEST PEOPLE THAT SHOULD NOT BE RUNNING THIS BUSINESS.
Potential renters of equipment beware!

Provided by Citysearch -I've rented from these folks a couple of times and they have been very friendly and helpful. I rented a thatcher from them which worked just fine and on another occasion, I rented a power washer from them.
I didn't have any problems with the equipment or my transaction, but on both occasions they were a bit disorganized during the pickup and returns process.
Nevertheless, I would be happy to use them again.

Provided by Citysearch -My son recently rented a piece of equipment from Grand Central Rentals when he got it home it would not perform the job he needed it to do so he called the company and was told they were about to close to bring it in the next morning. When he arrived at 7:30 am to return it and try to get the equipment that would do the job he was informed he would have to pay full price for the original rental and then they would be happy to rent him a larger piece even though he used it for 28 minutes and it was verified on the meter talk about a rip off and this is not our first experience with this company they are rude and do not care about there customers I say renter beware

Provided by Citysearch -I tried to use the word ""deealing"" instead of transacting in the headline for this but ""deealing"" is an inappropriate word... Go figure. Anyway read on for the review!
I recently purchased a ""new"" Husqvarna riding lawn mower from this company in Cornelius Oregon. They were very gracious in delivering it for only $20 but unfortunately it stopped working after the first time I used it. They graciously picked it up, took it back to their shop and ""repaired"" it. Well, it's still not working right and they don't want to refund my money. They are however, very willing to charge me each time they come to pick it up and drop it off. The last time they dropped it off the hour meter wasn't working and the fule level indicator faceplate was broken.
I would be careful in using this company. they're on the gray side of honest. They actually recommended that I continue using the machine even without the hour meter because it would be to my advantage if I ever wanted to sell it. I told them I understood what they were talking about but that would only work for someone who wasn't honest... Makes you wonder huh?
