well i heard that they had a particular artist from Atlanta to come sing on labor day weekend and admission was like 20 buck each and i was cool with that how ever the band only played about two 30 min sets and this was a club scene and normally u get about 3 sets of 30 min or you get about 2 set of 45 min.we bought drink that where way too high i mean i ask for a drink and i got about a half shot of liquor mixes with sprite and this was 10.00 dollars so i took that even though the going price is about 7-8 dollars one of my friends and his wife was running late and missed the band and we were leaving out when they was coming in and the attendant charge them full price as if the band was playing and this was forty dollars so i ask for management so refund his money because we all was leaving and they refused saying that they had advertised the show witch i was not disputing just that they missed the show and since we where leaving and my friend never even got to sit down i thought it was tastless and greedy and i will never set foot in that place again nor will i recommend it to anyone; management sucks not good business. I WAS SO UPSET THAT I WENT INTO MY POCKET AND GAVE MY FRIEND BACK THE 40.00 BECAUSE I INVITED HIM AND HIS WIFE WHO MIGHT I ADD DROVE ALL THE WAY FROM MARION ARK. NEVER AGAIN MUG SHOT @ CORDOVA. The single star overstates the value of the customer service at this restaurant. I had my fourth and final experience at Skimo's last week. The service is always slow (we continue to go because we live around the corner and the food is usually good) and I was not surprised when we did not receive our food in a reasonable amount of time - this time we waited 45 minutes and one of our dishes had obviously sat in the window for 20+ minutes... it was not edible. Because of the excessive time, it is important to note that we ordered 2 salads, a kid's grilled cheese, a fish sandwich and a chicken sandwich. In addition, my 2 year old daughter had to wait the entire 45 minutes for her food, the asparagus side constituted 4 shriveled stalks, and we went 20 minutes without seeing our waitress before I finally had to ask one of the 3 people hanging out at the hostess stand to check on our meal. Normally I would just chalk it up as a bad day and move on. When I asked the waitress what type of experience would require a manager to talk to us, she said she was a manager, told us she apologized (she did) and then argued with us about how long we waited - we eventually proved to her that we had indeed waited an incredibly long time and she turned around and walked away. Normally I would just chalk this up to subpar service - arguing with a customer, especially when your not correct, is breaking the cardinal rule of waiting tables. The next issue is when the event became the worst dining experience of my life. A man then brought my bill (5 minutes after I provided my credit card to pay and only adjusted for the meal that had been sent back because we couldn't eat it), dropped it off and took the second ticket in my party without saying a word. He was dressed differently, and when he returned I asked if he were a manager... He replied, "I am the OWNER". I proceeded to ask him if he were aware of what happened tonight and he responded not by asking us to tell him what happened, not by apologized for our experience, but by telling me how much I upset his waitress! If that wasn't enough, I then briefly explained our experience and, after I said that we had been served food we couldn't eat, he sarcastically said "so your telling me you didn't eat your food"! He clearly implied that I was exaggerating and lying because 80% percent of our table was indeed able to eat the food we waited 45 minutes for... That's not it. The OWNER then told me the facts of the evening were my "opinion", gave us a smug grin and said, "We appreciate you coming in” and “I hope you have a nice day". It is my opinion that his arrogance and blatant lack of customer service has created a culture where it is ok to argue with customers, serving obviously poor dishes is acceptable, 30 minute ticket times are expected, individual customer experiences are irrelevant and they are entitled to the business they have. It would not surprise me if, even after reading this review, the owner still thinks he did nothing wrong and attempts to justify his actions. I cannot chalk a bad owner up to anything. If you are looking for a place to get dinner near Skimo's, try Rio Azul in the next shopping center - great prices and great employees. If you want a drink, drive a little further and go the Huey's, the Saucer or Mulligan's. Please don't choose to patron a place that doesn't value you, your time, or your money.
