Where to start: We arrived at the restaurant only to be greated by a very tall young lady who gave us the impression that we were bothering her. She showed us to our table without any menus or at least a brief conversation on who would be waiting on us. After several minutes, we received our menus. While reviewing the Coral Gables Restaurant Week Menu and the regular menu, the Hostess continued to parade herself from one end of the restaurant to the other with shoes that sounded like clydesdale horses walking through the restaurant. I ordered off the restaurant week menu, while my husband ordered off the regular menu. We ordered some drinks and waiting for our appetizers. Awesome appetizers. Our meal arrived at the appropriate time as they did not rush us which was such a nice treat. Since I had ordered from the set menu, I got my Tiramisu while my husband had to ask our waiting to please bring him the dessert menu. Keep in mind that this whole time the Hostess and her shoes continued to trot to and from the back of the restaurant. I came very close to tackling her to the ground and removing her shoes. It was very distracting to hear the noise of her shoes. After a brief time, my husband got his dessert, who was served by a lovely young lady who smiled and made some pleasant conversation, unlike our waiter and the hostess. We did notice that there where some local politicians who were getting the royal treatment. I guess the hostess and waiter decided to save their smiles for the important politicians. Will we go back? Absolutely not. The meal very tasty but not inexpensive. For the price paid, a smile and some pleasantries would have been appropriate.
Diners be ware.

A number of our acquaintances touted Anacapri as offering quality Italian fare at value prices so we decided to try it on a Thursday night. Sure enough, the large menu posted in the window displayed a 3 course prix fixe dinner for $18 - a sure inducement for us to try it out. After being shown to our table the waiter immediately tried to sell us the $35 ""Miami Spice"" which was far more than we wanted for a light mid-week dinner. We asked about the $18 special and was advised it was no longer available. When my wife questioned the manager why it was still being prominently advertised adjacent to the restaurant door, she was essentially told ""take it or leave it"" or words to that effect. With customer service like that, we decided to ""leave it."" The fact that only one other table was occupied at 7pm tells me that this ""value"" restaurant will soon be a thing of the past.

I went many times to the Anacapri on Ponce, and everything went perfect.
The food is great, large portions, always new specials and they have a full bar + an extensive wine list at unbeatable prices.
They just started to offer weekly specials
On thursday night for example, ALL The bar, ALL NIGHT is buy 1 get 2 ... The only place to offer that in Miami !!! On monday night they have their wine list HALF PRICE - and it was already cheaper than anywhere else in the gables and miami in general.
the food is priced right - main courses $15-$25 - and the pasta and special ravioli and other italian specialities are to die for.
The servers and manager are very friendly and professional
Great for family diner or date night , and they have a huge room with balcony upstairs for large parties.
i definitely recommend this place :)

My husband and I ended up here for dinner on a Saturday night. I ordered mussels--major mistake. The mussels were unlike any I have ever seen before--they were clearly past their prime and were completely glued to their shells. When I finally was able to pry one free of its shell, it was a stringy mess. Any self-respecting cook should have taken one look at them and refused to send them out of the kitchen.
