Went by today and it appears that they have given up and closed the restaurant.
went on sat 11/23/13. ordered fried oysters as appetizer. good but no sauce. ordered drinks which did not come until halfway thru entree (which I refused at that point). food was good but not for the price. not a large portion- 1 pc catfish & 5 shrimp for $17??? waiter told me drinks were comped...that means you got them but weren't charged. spoke to mgr who then sent the waiter back to me to argue. never will I ever spend $50 for crappy service at this place again. no accountability at all. incompotent mgmt & staff. all of this on a sat night when they were not even busy. would have been too much to get napkins that we asked for but never got.
I am VERY disappointed with the service that was received on Saturday August 24, 2013. I called on Wend say made reservations for a Birthday Day party of 20 and upon arriving the tables were NOT ready. It took 30 minutes to get prepared when this should have already been taken care of. That defeats the purpose of calling to reserve.Upon being seated, placing and receiving orders (which many items on the menu were unavailable) a member of the party discovers a worm/maggot type living bug crawling in her salad. You would think that there would have been some type of compensation for this disgusting discovery however the salad was added to her bill when the whole meal should have been free at this point. We request to see the manager and he refused to come to the table. Also while your establishment was still open your employees ordered wings and pizza and proceeded to sit and eat at the table directly behind us. What kind of message does that send to patrons if your own employees DO NOT eat food from the establishment where they are employed? Again this was supposed to be a Birthday Celebration with good food, fun and fellowship. The experience was horrible and these things need to be addressed if you want your business to thrive beyond the 20 customer you just lost!Disgusted PatronDON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great brunch! I've been here 3 times now and the food and service have always been excellent. I took my relatives in for Sunday brunch and all were very pleased. The Salmon Benedict was delicious. I wish more people knew about the brunch. A very nice change from waiting in line at the big chain restaurants.
This place is terrible!!! My husband and I and some friends ate here on 7/13/13 after hearing many mixed reviews. Big mistake!! First of all I will give them a 1star for the decor and bar as you walk into the place. But after that it was all down hill. I ordered a combination dinner of whole catfish and shrimp. When I recieved my plate I thought that I had ordered a kiddie meal. I mean my food did not even cover my plate. A hand sized catfish and 5 gulf shrimp. The shrimp tasted like store bought oven warmed shrimp and the catfish, no comment. No one was satisfied with their food and we will never eat here again. We could have went to Captain D's and really had a good meal for what we paid for this crap!!!! A piece of advice for the Fish House, rethink your everything. Your food is very small portion and is not appetizing at all. I would rather eat off of a paper plate and have great food than to eat off of ceramic for a crappy meal and that is what this place is Crappy.!!!!
Here's my story: I read the reviews and decided to give this restaurant a try. My husband and I had planned to treat my mother in law by taking her to the The Fish House. She has been wanting to go since it opened. After reading the reviews we became hesitant because my mother in law is from Florida and she knows what real seafood should taste like. So I called my mother in law and told her that I wanted to cancel our plans to visit this restaurant because I read the reviews and they were horrible! She replied, "I forgot to tell you that I already visited The Fish House on Father's Day! Don't waste your money!" I was stunned! What she told me was almost identical to the other reviews! She said she ordered fried oysters and shrimp. She was accompanied by a friend and her two children10 and 12 years of age. She said as an appetizer they had hush puppies which were dark (maybe the grease needs to be changed more frequently) however, she said she didn't think much of it. She said when she got her food the shrimp and oysters were hard and dry. Her friend ordered fried plantains and sent them back in the kitchen 3 times! I don't understand why fried plantains would be on the menu, but anyway. They ordered the children hamburgers. The children began complaining about the taste. What they discovered is that the burgers were burned! When children are complaining you know there is a problem! She said she then proceeded to speak with the manager and he avoided her, hiding in the kitchen so when she got ready to pay she made sure the waitress knew that she would not leave until he spoke with her. He did take off the price of her shrimp and oysters, which she was happy about. She informed him that oysters and shrimp shouldn't be hard and maybe they should change the grease more often. He seemed not to care so she stated that they paid and left. She told me she was disappointed because Conyers really does need a seafood restaurant that is not a chain restaurant. Anyway, just thought I'd let the public know. My husband also went online and looked up their inspection grade...horrible See for yourself. Click on the link and type in The Fish House and it will show all the scores. They had 2 inspections. The first one was bad. The second one was worst. I just thought the public needed to be informed. Their last inspection was May 29th. They scored a 74. http://ga.state.gegov.com/georgia/search.cfm?county=rockdale
Don't waste your time. Was greeted and seated and that was the extent of our visit. Had to leave after 15 plusminutes of No Service. If they had at least, brought us water then maybe we would have stayed an additional 5 minutes. As we were leaving out, My husband told them that their SERVICE SUCKS! Another thing, if they are going for ghetto waitresses then they have accomplished their task! One of our co workers had a bad experience on Friday night and today is still sick from whatever he ate that night. You have been far warned. I can not rate this place unless zero is on the scale. Had to give a rating in order to write the review
Me and my family had a great experiance at the fish house! We had service with a smile and on point with everything. It was so good we spoke with the manager John, he was so nice to us! Also everything was very clean and smelled brand new! We will definitely be back! It's very nice to have a fish house in Conyers ga! Welcome to Conyers!!
This place gets a ZERO STAR!!! It's definitely going through growing pains. I was NOT impressed from the moment my family and I came in the door this past weekend. The wait wa 45 minutes so my husband and I decided to have a cocktail at the bar. After three tries the bar maid finally made a drink I could stomach...she said it was her first time making that particular drink and she needed the menu to make it. After we got seated it took another 15 minutes to get a beverage and order our appetizers. The waitress was real lax and kept cutting us off. After another 15 - 20 minutes our appetizers arrived. We ordered our entrees and it took another 45 minutes to get our food. In the meantime two more couples were seated in our area and they too we very disappointed in the amount of time it took to get their food too. After an hour or more our food arrived, warm not hot. My husband ordered a seafood pasta dish where it was missing a considerable amount of seafood. My daughter ordered pasta and sauce where the sauce was non-existent. Lastly, my salmon was too well done and the rice tasted as if it wasn't completely cooked. My husband asked to speak to the manager along with the other two couples. When the manager arrived he was in a joking mood and seemed as if he had a couple beers. He pulled up a chair in between our three tables and crossed his arms and said let's hear it. He then got up and spoke to each table individually and noted he would take care of our bills. Well he took care of the other two tables bills, zero due however he only deducted my husbands pasta dish. When my husband asked our waitress to get the manager again he NEVER returned to our table. I gave the waitress a coupon from the restaurant's website and asked if we could use it. She said it shouldn't be a problem she would get the manager to credit our bill. She returned to tell us the manager said either we could use the coupon or take my husband's meal off the bill. My husband got up to address the manager face-to-face. The manager was on the phone and he NEVER made eye contact with my husband. Furious beyond words my husband left a tip for the waitress and we left. We were 1/4 mile from the restaurant when 4 police officers pulled us over. After the police officer checked my license, we explained our side of the story, we all went back to the restaurant. Of course the manager ran inside when we returned. A second manager was outside and he said my coupon was expired. I instantly told him he was a liar and the police officer went inside to get my coupon and showed everyone that the coupon did not expire until 5/11/13 and that I had printed it 4 days prior. My husband along with one officer went back into the restaurant and paid the bill. Bottom line although we received VERY POOR SERVICE and MEDIOCRE FOOD we shouldn't have left the restaurant without paying. Nevertheless I will escalate the incident and our treatment to the owner(s) and every social media site I have an account on.The menu sucks....99% of it is fried food, and 50% had a note that the items were only available 11AM-3PM. Really? Stop being cheap and get two menus, one lunch menu and one dinner menu. Lastly, provide more options than fried foods. I will NEVER step foot in this establishment again and I will spread the word about my first and last experience.
Awful!!!! is the best thing that I can say about this expensive restaurant
