Purchased a used Riccar in good shape at a local garage sale, walked in to get it cleaned and serviced, walked out with a wonderful new Miele! They gave me an excellent trade in value, the price on the Miele was better than anything I could find online and the demonstration was informative, not just a sales pitch! Thank You!
Dakota was very knowledgeable and helpful at telling us the specific differences in the machines. They have a wide price range of vacuums. We had done our homework and he fine tuned the choices. We were interested in Miele vacuums and found a much wider range of prices than online.
SMVW has been my go to place for vacuum purchases and servicing for over 10 years and more recently for sewing machines, fabric and notions. I was such a frequent customer that I am on a first name basis with most of the employees. Sadly, after my recent experience, I will never give them my business again and would caution anyone else considering them to think twice. SMVW made the sale, Brenda made her commission and I, the loyal customer, was out $1000 (new machine + annual service fee of trade in made the same day) and stuck with a machine that could not do what I purchased it to do.
I am a quilter and made it abundantly clear that my sole purpose for a sewing machine is quilting and that I use my machine frequently. I could bore you with the incredible array of their excuses, lack of return phone calls, supposed diagnosis of why my stitches were skipping and ineffectual problem solving that took place over a 3 week time period. Or, I could tell you that because my phone calls were not getting returned that I went to the store (17+ miles ea way) 3 times and spent 4+hours of my own time, in good faith, to try to push them to help me resolve the problem. During those times, I was often left ‘hanging’ (literally standing or sitting in the store waiting for someone to tell me what to expect next or who I was waiting for). One SMVW employee said it best when he commented that part of the responsibility for the problem I was experiencing was because I was probably sold a machine that was not a good choice for quilting! The bottom line is that I was sold a product that was misrepresented to be able to perform the task I purchased it for and even though I identified a major problem within the 30 day period and everyone acknowledged the problem and no one could resolve the problem, I was denied a refund. They wanted to blame me and pushed me to spend more money on another machine. I even tried calling the manufacturer about the stitch slipping problem and they insisted they wanted me to be a satisfied Janome customer and to expect a call from SMVW owner, Ken, by day’s end...no one called! In the end, it became clear that it was the wrong equipment for quality quilting and I even struggled to finally receive the like-kind exchange that I had been initially offered as a last ditch attempt to see if another machine would be better. It was not.
1) DON’T BUY FROM SMVW. THEY WILL NOT REFUND MONEY IN 30 DAY TIME PERIOD REGARDLESS IF THE PRODUCT SOLD IS INFERIOR/MISREPRESENTED.
2) DON’T BUY FROM SMVW IF YOU THINK THEY VALUE CUSTOMER LOYALTY OVER MAKING A BUCK.
3) JANOME WILL ONLY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS TO THE EXTENT THEIR DEALER CHOOSES TO.
4)DO BUSINESS WITH A DEALER THAT OFFERS A 30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE. MOST OF THEM DO BECAUSE EVERY MACHINE IS NOT GOING TO EXCEL AT EVERY TASK AND THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW FOR SURE IS TO ACTUALLY USE IT A FEW TIMES.
5) IT’S BETTER TO BE HONESTLY TOLD ‘YOU NEED TO SPEND MORE MONEY TO GET WHAT YOU ARE REALLY ASKING FOR,” THAN TO BE SOLD AN INFERIOR PRODUCT.
6) I RECOMMEND SEW VAC CITY IN COLLEGE STATION WHO NOT ONLY TOOK MY JANOME IN FOR 92% OF THE PRICE I PAID, THE OWNER KNEW EXACTLY WHY I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM, CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME HE HAD DEALT WITH THE PROBLEM & MADE SURE I LEFT A HAPPY CUSTOMER. MARK ACTUALLY UNDERSTANDS THE VALUE OF TAKING CARE OF CUSTOMERS AND I WILL DRIVE THE DISTANCE TO DEAL WITH A BUSINESSMAN WHO DEALS HONESTLY & FAIRLY.
I have been shopping at this location for several years. The employees have been knowledgeable about the products and willing to share new ideas with me. I see samples of what the machines can do and enjoy visiting with the staff. Sara just sold me a new Artistic Edge machine and I can't wait to use it. Tricia and Sara let me know about free classes on line and also a class that is being offered in the store soon. I love this store.
I’ve been shopping at the Conroe location since it opened – Willowbrook before that. A few years ago, I purchased a basic Janome to add to a Viking I had and I love it. This time I was looking to replace my upscale Viking. Trisha was so thorough and knowledgeable about all of the machines I looked at. She asked questions of how I use my machines to narrow the field to my needs to find the ‘best fit’ for me. I came in looking for a specific model and, with Trisha’s help, I left with a different one – but the perfect machine for my needs! I couldn’t be more thrilled with my choice! Thanks Trisha.
I've purchased 4 sewing/embroidery machines from S&VW. I recently traded in a machine purchased last year and since it was only a yr old, got 90% of its purchase to a new machine. Their trade-in feature towards new purchases is great! They have a wide selection of machines to fit your needs and budget. Trisha is extremely helpful making suggestions and demonstrating machines she feels may meet your needs/budget. The service department is helpful and turnaround on machine tuneup/repair quick. HIGHLY RECOMMEND S&VW!
I have been looking of a new sewing machine for some time. While doing online research I found that Sewing & Vac Warehouse in Conroe had just the brands I wanted. I visited with Sara and Trisha a few times and Sara showed me the models and features she thought would best suit my needs. She spent extensive time with me. She is extremely knowledgeable about their products and showed me several samples she made herself. She stayed in contact with me until I was ready to buy and found me the best deal possible. She also me up for the Brother Club and gave me some extra bonus tips. I love my Brother 6200 so far and look forward to adding some new accessories soon and taking some classes to use the embroidery features. Thanx Sara and Trisha.
I have been dealing with Sewing and Vacuum Warehouse since 2005. I have purchased 3 machines from them and have been very happy. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
In addition to the knowledge and help with sewing machines they have monthly class for the machines. These classes help you learn your machine and also projects for quilting, embroidery, cross stitch, and sewing.
