People confuse this gym with the Old Holds Gym because of the location. Old school, cool people, but by invite only. 603-545-5072 is the secret contact.
I have not personally been to this gym, but I deal with the manager a couple times a week at my job. She's snobby, rude, and expects respect while not showing any in return. My friend used to work for her when her gym used to be Golds Gym. She said it was the absolute worst and she has no business etiquette what so ever. She's all about making money, hence why her establishment is a mess.
One star is too many.I had training sessions from when the trainer left and Michelle Foy refused to call me back to let me know how they could be used or reimbursed. The place is filthy and poorly managed. Staff turnover is very high which tells you right there that it is not well managed. Too bad...great location.
I cancelled my membership because I was going on active duty only to find $70 in charges on my credit card a year later. When I called to speak with someone regarding this I was told the manager would call me back... A month later no call. So I requested a call back on the gyms Facebook page, apparently bad publicity is the only thing to get her attention. She then called me screaming and using fowl language and then said she was canceling my membership (which is what I had requested a year ago) and then banned me from the premises lol I live in San Diego. She's mentally unstable and anyone of this caliber of crazy should not have access to your credit card.
Best selection of weights and machines in concord by far. That is if they are working. Dusty and dirty, with no cleaning service what so ever. Showers dingy and gross. The gym is not lacking revenue, so I attribute the problem to cheap management. Step machines have been out if order for more than three months, which in my opinion is completely unacceptable. Not nearly as bad as the water fountain in the downstairs weight area that has not functioned properly for close to a year. The d-bag to respectable clientele is questionable, but you'll find that most anywhere.Used to be a golds gym till the franchise pulled there stamp, for which I assume is because of the above mentioned. Sad thing is with all that this place lacks it still stands out in a pool of poor competition.
I have tried to cancel a yearlong contract with Core Fitness because my daughter, who has a chronic illness, was only able to use their facilities 2 or 3 times. BEWARE of their contract which has no clause for medical issues. Over the last year, I left many messages for Michelle, the manager. She never returned my calls. I tried resolving it with her, (a rep from my credit card company was on the phone calls with me), to no avail. Michelle hung up on me. At least my credit card company is stopping the last payment.
