After my email correspondence with Dan Hensel (email@example.com) I can say I will never do business with Southern Car Company, nor would I ever recommend anyone to go here. I wish I could post the screen capture of his email thread for all to see. I emailed an offer through their website to get a reply saying "16900 is what it will sell for because its very hard to find...thanks for the offer though." My reply "16900 is 2500 over book in excellent condition, I have a credit union pre approval and ready to make a deal. Whats the bottom dollar to get it out the door this week?" And here is where the rude remark from Dan comes in "Doesn't matter what book is sir...that's the market. You'll never buy one that cheap. I sell everyone I get...usually fast too. Good Luck". After explaining to him that there all over auto trader from here to GA for book price with less miles he did not want to speak anymore. I loved dealing with this group. Very professional and patient, even when I lost the keys to the trade-in, in my sweatshirt pocket and we searched for over an hour for the keys! At first I thought this was the best place I had gotten a car...very friendly and did everything they could to get me in a car, even though I had no credit. I still owed 1/2 the down payment and told them I would bring the money when I got my first check in May. I told him the date of the first check. He asked for a check for goodwill. I gave him the check. His words were " Don't worry, I will not deposit the check unless you just don't bring the money. You will know before I deposit it if that becomes necessary". Well, he deposited the check 2 days before my payday, which is when I told him I would bring the money, did not have the common courtesy to contact me before he did, therefore I had a overdraft fee at my bank. This has cut me short on making my first payment. Obviously, they just tell you what they need to just to get you into a car and then don't have the respect to let you know before they are getting ready to do something that they said they wouldn't. I love my car, but a business's word is it's life, and I will never buy from them again, nor recommend anyone else to.
