If you've never driven a rig before, this is not the place to start. I took their course and successfully got my Class-A CDL. I hired on with a trucking company, but I was fired three days later. My driving mentor reported that I am too unskilled. The company referred me to Sage Truck Driving School to get more practice. Since I was fired, they are not paying for my time at Sage.I did not have an accident or damage equipment, but the mistakes I made in the cab were serious. Because I was fired, I fear what will appear on my DAC. That could harm my chances at another driving job even though I'm getting more training. Please note that I DO NOT consider CTS responsible for what happened. CTS lived up to their end of the contract as far as helping me get my CDL. However, running a rig requires more practice hours if you've never done it before. At Sage, my instructor takes me out for four hours of one-on-one driving time. CTS has three students out at a time and they take turns behind the wheel. If you are a previous driver and you are looking for a refresher course, CTS is probably a good low-cost way to go. If you're completely new to trucking, go with a school like Sage or US Truck Driving School. Extra road time is worth the extra money.
