I have been to Tony's on several occasions and everything always has been above par. The veal melts in your mouth and the sauces leave you wanting more. Concerning some of the other reviews...I know bearbarber very well and his taste in food is that of thinking McDonalds is gourmet dining, so whatever he may state, take with a grain of salt.

I wish I could file a more positive report, especially since I've enjoyed Tony's over the years. When T.A.T. began its long decline, Tony's filled the vacuum, albeit at a slightly higher price point--understandable, given its location. I'm 0 for 3 in the last two years though, and there won't be another try before hell freezes over. Eccentric, even surly service can be excused (or even appreciated!) in an ethic eatery. What cannot be excused is the utter indifference to their diners. Perhaps management has lost interest; certainly they have lost their hunger for excellence (or even OK-ness). The food itself was never Tony's main draw, though it was good enough. Pile enough nastiness and indifference on the plate and the experience isn't worth the price of admission.

I and several friends went to this establishment on a friday evening and received the worst service i have ever had in a restaurant. Of course the issue was blamed on the fact that the waiter was a new employee. however my guests and myself easily observed the fact that the tables who had ordered bottles of wine or some form of alcoholic beverage was getting 10 times better service than we were. Couple that with the fact that the general manager was standing just two tables away smoozing one of those said tables and could clearly see that other tables were not receiving the proper amount of service. We were ill received when making our parting complaints to the general manager and then when I spoke with the owner of the establishment two days later all he did was defend his staff and lay the blame at our feet for there poor performance!!! Never again will i spend another dollar their and will definitely encourage my friends and you to avoid the establishment as well.

We have tried several dishes and they taste the same. They were all way too salty. On one visit they charged use twice for the same meal. The staff is not that attentive. The owner ran the charge slip and the waiter also ran it and neither one noticed it. The house red wine is poor.

I love Tony's. Walking in, you can tell you are in an upscale restaurant. The prices reflect the quality of food. The escargot is wonderful - both in texture and taste. The food presentation is nothing fancy but that isn't really why i eat food. the sauces are flavorful, the pasta is fresh and delicious and the wine list is full of wonderful choices. As compared to the other choices for Italian food in columbus, ohio, this place certainly shines! We have always had good service and been seated quickly, even on a saturday night. Please try this place! You will not be disapointed.

First, the food tasted like something I could whip up (not a talented cook mind you) in the kitchen with some flour and water and a jar of value alfredo sauce in about ten minutes, especially since there appears to be no need to make sure the pasta isn't hard as a rock and undercooked to the point well beyond al dente. Second, for this small, unsatisfying meal, be ready to pay a substantial sum of money, akin to what you would pay somewhere like McCormick and Schmicks or the Fish Market. Finally, if you have a coupon, make sure you look around on the internet for whatever the rules are for them, they don't really seem to want to honor them. Overall, this was quite the bad experience, and costly. Had we not been there with friends that I didnt want to offend, the food would have gone back to the kitchen multiple times. Save yourself the trouble, and just go somewhere else. There are several other nice italian restaurants around.

The house salad that comes with the entrees was average, but could do with a few more bits of lettuce. The bread was regrettable though the butter was pleasant. The side of linguini marinara (also served w/entrees) was dried pasta with a bland, canned-tasting sauce served almost cold, swimming in water; we told our server who brought new plates, this time lukewarm. The Veal Saltimbocca was served with a sauce so strong and thick that the other tastes were obliterated. The Veal Calabrese was alright, but the veal was tough and overcooked. Wine list reasonable but not inspired. They actually advertise the use of imitation crab in one pasta dish! Its a pretty place but our first time there will be our last. There are just too many good Italian restaurants in Columbus!

It's a shame I have lived in Columbus for so long and not been to Tony's. Located in the Brewery district near downtown, this restaurant has a nice family-style Italian atmosphere. They have a nice wine list and a couple of Italian beers as well. The food is excellent, the lasagna I had was one of the best. The service was very good as well, although we were there on a weeknight so it was slow. Recommended!
