I had dinner at Latitude 41 recently, and it was the slowest service I have ever had...anywhere. Once we were seated, it took almost 20 minutes for anyone to come to our table. I ordered a glass of wine, and almost had to go to the bar myself to get it because our server was nowhere to be found. When he finally did come back, he took our orders, and it took over an hour for our food to come. By that time, we were really annoyed and couldn't even enjoy our overpriced dinners. At the same time, there were tables around us who were getting up and leaving because they were waiting so long. They were the smart ones! I will admit that my meal was good, however the whole ordeal of it taking so long definatly took away from what could have been a good experience. Too bad this is a newer place. Not so sure it's going to last very long.

When our waitress had no dishes to recommend, that should have been a sign this meal would be a disaster. The gnochhi dish that I ordered tasted bland and stale and contained no artistic presentation. This was for a cost of $18. The chef's ""interpretation"" of a romaine salad was a head of romaine slapped crudely on the plate. This was for a price of $8. By far, this was the worst restaurant food I have tasted in 15 years. No wonder the chef cooked for so many restaurants over the country. He probably was fired from all or most of them.

I live in Carlyle's Watch across the street from Latitude 41. My significant other and I had 7:30pm dinner reservations for a belated Valentine's dinner 2/16/08 that turned into a nightmare. First the hostess that seated us had a terrible attitude. The server who was also terrible began to read us the entire menu and give a speech about where they get their ingredients, etc, etc. He took our entire order at once and promised it would be sent out in courses. The wine we ordered never came out and we had to go to the bar ourselves to get our drinks. The appetizers finally came out and what a disaster they were. I've had better frozen pizza than their flat breads and my lobster bisque was cold. There were no spoons for my soup and I had to go up to the hostess station and ask for one. A server then approached our table with a handful of spoons and handed me a large serving spoon for a small bowl of soup. I had to tell her which spoon I needed for the soup.
After an hour passed and the main courses were still not served we demanded a manager. Also our server never came back to our table after taking the initial order. The manager was polite and offered the dinner at no charge. Then our food appears out of no where as she's trying to reconcile the issue.
I was livid! I told her we were done, send the food back, and that we were leaving. As we gathered our things she tried talking us into staying which caused quite a scene and everyone in the dining room watched.
The next morning I became extremely sick as a result of foodbourne contamination and will be filing a complaint with the city. This was by far my worst dining experience ever. Never go there unless you want to receive horrific service and become very sick! Since I live across the street I can at least look forward to seeing a CLOSED sign in there window and that hideous yellow banner torn down.
I went to Latitude 41 last night for dinner, and it was one of the single-most unacceptable dining experience I have ever had. After waiting more than 15 minutes for anyone to come to our table, a waiter finally showed up and proceeded to give us a 10 minute speech about the fact that most of the ingredients come from Ohio and the philosophy behind the dishes. I am a big supporter of locally grown/locally sourced ingredients, but it doesn't matter if your apples or mushrooms come from Ohio if you can't execute the dishes.
We waited more than an hour to get our food after ordering, and then it was not good when it did arrive. $36 for a small piece of tough beef tenderloin and an under-cooked onion with under-cooked potatoes inside? $28 for an Ohio duck breast that was gone in three bites with no discernable flavor on the plate? What a joke.
The most entertaining part of the night was watching the food runners come out of the kitchen with an armful of food, stagger around for a while clearly confused about where the food was supposed to go, and then start asking each table if it was their food. This happened repeatedly throughout the night, and it would have been humorous if not for the fact that everyone was desperately waiting on their food to FINALLY come out, so it was bittersweet comedy.
Two of the tables around us walked out mid-way through their meals, and I wish we would have joined them. But we muscled through the meal, and will NEVER return.
I eat at high end restaurants several times a week so I think I'm a pretty good judge and don't expect more than I deserve for the money. I should have listened to the other reviews..
Tonight was a late valentines day dinner for my wife and I, it couldn't have been much worse.
The waiter repeated a memorized speech that lasted at least 10 minutes about where the food came from. We'd obviously stopped listening after the first couple minutes but he kept going, we looked out the windows, we talked about what we might order and he still kept going. Local food is great but I don't need to be told that bananas have to come from outside Ohio because they don't grow in this climate, or that sea bass has to come from the ocean because it needs salt water to live.
The restaurant was maybe half full at best, we went on a Friday night at 8:30pm so it should have been the best guys working. Yet the service was slow and sparse, we rarely saw our waiter and often the dirty plates piled up on our table before another waiter would take interest and take them away.
We ordered a wild mushroom flat bread to start, the bread and cheese were burnt and bland but at least the mushrooms were good.
Our salads were without flavor, they didnt even taste like lettuce. More like the bleach water you wash vegetables in. My pear and goat cheese salad had three shavings of pear that were see through they were so thin, and also were completely tasteless.
I ordered a ribeye for the main course assuming this would be a safe choice. I'm struggling to see how they screwed it up, it was a beautiful cut of meat tender and flavorful. I ordered it medium rare and it arrived looking good. I took the first bite and all I could taste was carbon, they'd burnt the bottom of the steak in the few minutes it had been on the grill.
Summary: Bad Service, Poorly prepared and bad tasting food and dinner for two was $130. This place is horrible.

Quite expensive, but much of the food didn't live up to many of our expectations.
The bread was dime store quality, 4 out of 5 of us disliked our meal, and our waiter was super awkward. I wouldn't recomend it as it's food seems to be either very bad or very good. What was good was very good (the desert was great), what was bad (flat breads, salmon, and pork) was very bad.
