AVOID Dollar Rental at The Columbus Airport !!! In addition to the hard upsell for additional insurance, they demand to know your personal automobile insurance carrier AND liability coverage amounts. Note that the other rental agencies DO NOT request this information.

I feel like I got nickeled and dimed. No hidden charges? Um I paid a fuel surcharge of $1.50 per day even though I waived their services and held myself accountable. I got charged $1.75 per day for frequent flyer program participation. Who knows what else. They tried to force me into their insurance. She asked me for either option A or B. I said neither and was appalled and demanded to know and confirm I had personal insurance that would cover it. My estimated online charge quickly went up a mysterious $50 by the time I returned the car. BTW, the car had 57,000 miles on it and I had issues getting the gas tank door open as it was jammed and dented up. NEVER AGAIN!

I was running late for my plane and retruned my Dollar Rental Car at Port Columbus Airport. Checked out not at the inside counter, but outside. Got home and was reviewing the receit and WOW. Additional charges. Check your contract prior to signing. I rented a car for one week puls one day. Dollar charged me $20.00 for the extra day. OK with that. The car was to be returned back on Jan 25 2013 no later then 5:30 pm. I had the car returned on the 25 at 9:30 am. Because I had the car back early they charged me an additional $15.00 for early return. Because I had made the reservation on line and had the car reserved for the 26 they said that I returned it early. Now I changed the reservation at the counter when I signed the contract. But no, because I reserved the car on line is the reason I was charged a andittional day and that i returned it 8 hours early. Really 8 hours early and you charge me!

And look at the charges before you sign, because Dollars charges $23.99 a day for the location at the airport. They do not tell you this at the time of the rental agreement. You get hit with this at the time you return the car.

I called the Service Center by that was like talking to a person who is now a robot and all they could say was "you reserved the car on line and it over rides any other contract" Dollar is a rip off out fit. I will not rent there again.

today there is a winter storm and heavy snow and I cant get to the airport. You need a TODAYS'S REPORT section where people can see if the airport is still open and what flights are delayed.
