I tried Dan's for the first time this weekend and definitely give the place a big thumbs up. It's just as cool looking inside as it is from the street. We were there for breakfast and the service was pleasant, the food came promptly, and we were well-taken care of on the strong-but-fresh (just the way I like it) coffee refills. I ordered pretty basic, pancakes and scrambled eggs, and was pleased with both, the pancakes in particular were perfection. My friend had a more complicated vegetarian-Greek dish and was also quite pleased. I'm looking forward to going back again soon to check out the lunch or dinner menu.

Ok, so I was expecting a real drive in, and, initially, was a bit disappointed that we were going to have to eat inside, BUT, Dan's Drive In proved to be excellent. Yes, it has a 50s diner feel, but there isn't a portrait of James Dean nor a neon Coca Cola sign anywhere! How refreshing! I was surprised by the extensive menu - something for everyone! - but knew I was going to have to try the 1 pound 'Big Mouth Burger'! Holy crap! It was HUGE! The fries were good, but the onion rings were a rip-off at 5 for $2. I would definitely go back though.

My reuben sandwich was one of the best I have ever eaten. The waitress was extremely friendly and personable. The best part of Dan's Drive-In, however, is the ambiance. I found myself taken back to a 1950's diner, hanging out with my friends, and drinking a soda. It's a fun place to eat - a great break from the sterile norm.
