Ordered the red velvet cupcakes. It was challenging as there were no samples on display to help me decide between the jumbo-sized or the minis. Salesperson displayed annoyed that I sought clarity.Ordered four dozen minis. They were ready for pick-up on time, however, they were neither special in decor nor flavor. Standard issue cupcakes at a premium price. I could have had the same quality from a big box grocery store. Not impressed with their product or customer service.
I live in another state. My son is at Fort Benning. I prepaid for a cake. 3 weeks before the date of the visit, I tried to cancel my order. Kats Occasional Cakes refused to refund my $60. Poor business ethics!
WORST place ever for cupcakes....slow service...clueless workers....cupcakes ALL taste the same, regardless of flavor...waste of time and money..surprised they are still open
The cakes are delicious but the customer service for African Americans is horrible! The owner is not friendly at all she pretends to be until you purchase from her and then her true racism comes out. She doesn't speak to or address African American customers. She has her cashier to do it even when she is standing right there. How can someone owning a business be so unprofessional? I won't be going there anymore and I will inform others as well of her poor customer service.
Great Cuban & chicken sandwiches. Chicken sandwich is on a croissant. Delicious cupcakes. I thought it would be expensive but they have reasonable prices.
Best red velvet in town. I love their cup cakes too. Great customer service staff is very friendly.
I am a self-proclaimed Cupcake enthusiast. I LOVE cupcakes! I am not from Columbus, but am there on business quite often, so I have taken the time to sample the wares of quite a few of the bakeries that claim to make good cupcakes. Only one has ranked high on my list of the most delicious cupcakes and it is certainly not this one. The customer service is severely lacking. There was not anyone else waiting, but I was not acknowledged until I actually went back to the door and knocked loudly on it. I should have taken that as my cue to leave, truthfully. When she did serve me, I never once saw a smile. The cupcakes were dry to the point that I wondered if they were baked a week ago instead of that day as I was told. When I asked about other bakeries in town (as I routinely do in my travels) I was told how bad all of them were with more emphasis on one in particular. I've since visited them all and none spoke of others in that way. That's just poor business practice. This is the only one I will make sure to never revisit. By the way, the one they bashed so terribly turned out to be my favorite. Go figure.
I'm not sure how anyone could say the decorating was bad or unskilled. I've gotten many of my daughters' cakes there and they were simply beautiful. No one could do the kinds of cakes I've bought from them without years of practice. One of them they built around a figurine I brought in had a frosting flower forrest complete with a river surrounded by candy rocks. It looked more like a painting than a cake! The taste as good as they look too.
