Housing DiscriminationColumbia Property Management LLC has discriminated against me because of my disability under the fair housing act Section 818 . I went into the office April 11, 2018 to complain about the abuse I was receiving from my neighbor who is also a tenant of Columbia Property Management. I just had a total left hip replaced March 13, 2018. They filed a false police report on me which I had to get corrected. Retaliation against my disability for complaining about my neighbor!! I have since been subjected by their attorney with intimidation and harassment against my legal rights as a disabled person under the Fair Housing Act of 1988.I have submitted complaints against Columbia Property Management LLC with:The South Carolina Real Estate CommissionThe Better Business BureauThe South Carolina Consumer AffairsThe South Carolina Human Affairs Commission (Fair Housing)April 28, 2018Attention Property Owners with Rental Propertieswho have had or have dealings with Columbia Property Management LLC and you think you might have been overcharged for maintenance fees let us hear from you.Attention Tenants who have or had dealings with Columbia Property Management LLC and you think you have lost your security deposit unjustly we need to hear from you.I am furnishing an online petition to gather names and phone numbers to give to the South Carolina Real Estate Commission to try to get them to do an audit on Columbia Property Management LLC Online URLhttp://petitions.moveon.org/sign/property-owners-and-tenants?source=c.em&r_by=20056517 I am writing this letter because we have an extreme situation in the Rosewood Area that needs to come to the public's attention! For almost 8 years now a tenant has been terrorizing the neighborhood dogs. He has been yelling at the neighbors dogs when they bark going as far as hitting the fences with trash cans. When the property owners come out he curses them out and threatens to kill their dogs. There have been police reports filed starting in February 10, 2012, May 8, 2017 and occurring all the way up to the present day. This animal abuser has been accused of throwing bleach on one dog in the neighborhood to being suspected of poisoning another dog in the area. The property has been managed by Columbia Property Management LLC doing the whole duration that this has occurred. Columbia Property Management has gotten numerous emails and phone calls from the citizens in the area and has refused to do anything about it including doing their own investigation to see if these allegations are true about one of her tenants! This person's lease renewal date is August 31, 2018. I have taken a petition around and have gotten 110 signatures to stop the lease renewal. I do not approve of the tenant living in the Rosewood area terrorizing peoples pets under the management of Columbia Property Management LLC!! We as animal lovers insist that Columbia Property Management does not renew his lease when it comes up for renewal August 31, 2018!Online Petition: https://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/330/032/618/
DO NOT MOVE HERE. My girlfriend and I recently moved in to our "renovated" apartment and the ac doesnt work and hasnt for since we ahve moved in, we call virshina and the other office lady and to no avail our ac is still broken and we are stuck in this miserable 1 bedroom paying over 200 for electric.
Stay away. Insane fees. 1240 dollars in pet fees for the first year. 500 refundable plus 500 nonrefundable plus 20 a month for 1 dog. Also have to pay 9.50 a month for tenant liability even though I have my own renters ins. Take note of the many 1 star reviews
Not customer service friendly at all. Very difficult to reach people at this office. Not helpful with apartment transitions. College apartments are in high demand, so I can only assume they have built in customers and high demand who's clients have to put up with the terrible service, like myself.
If your company has a A+ with the BBB don't worry we ( ex tens and current) will make sure that changes .unprofessional , negligent , theives . Extremely horrible company I don't even know how they haven't been sued out of business yet . 100% of the "positive reviews " are from family members or friends . Daryl is a crook . Gives black owned businesses a bad names . You are trash Daryl . Complete trash .

They likely do a good service considering it is just two people running a business at the kitchen table in a residential neighborhood. My concern is the things they wind up charging you for at move out. Soldiers just dont even bother to clean they will keep most of your deposit even if you leave the place immaculate as I did. They re-shampooed the carpet and charged us for that after we'd already paid to have it done. For installing a new screen on a window? That will be $40 [I bought the screen at Lowe's and the owners said they'd pick it up when it was ready. Lord knows how much they would've charged for ordering the screen as I did].My advice is find out who the owner is of your rent house. You can email him or her on global and cc the property mgt team or vice versa. It is a good thing to have a 3rd witness to any commo you send to this biz. You will likely get a txt msg reply. You will not get a call back after 5pm since they lack 24/7 answering service.
Worst renting experience I have ever endured. Was forced to hire an attorney and break the lease early because of there refusal to adhere to fair housing rules and regulations. The home was marketed as having heat and air, and even told by management that the home had both. Only to find out upon moving in that the home had neither air nor heat. They refused to make any necessary repairs needed in the home: •Damaged roof that leaked when it rained. •Raccoons that made there way into the attic from a hole in the roof. •electrical issues that would cause the fuse box to constantly trip. Electrical outlets would spark and smoke. •zero insulation in the home causing energy bills to be extremely high. Had the home audited by SCE&G they concluded major housing code violations. •Trash left around the adjacent unit from the previous tenants. 8 months after they moved out. •rude customer service from the entire staff. Would get into arguments with the staff for with holding rent payment for poor living conditions of the unit.•had to stay in a hotel when conditions became too poor to live in.
I rented a house managed by APM and was very disappointed with the service we received from them. Anytime we had a meeting scheduled the property manager was late by at least 30 minutes. Also, anytime there was a problem it took months for it to be fixed. On one occasion the garage door broke and was inoperable for several months. MILITARY MEMBERS- APMs lease agreement says they ONLY honor PCS orders if you need to break your lease. When I told them I was separating and would be breaking the lease early they said that was ok. But when it came time to receive my security deposit back they thought I was PCSing. Fortunately, when I renewed my lease I had our property manager sign the state’s military clause document. It took 6 weeks and a major headache to try and get the security deposit back. Security deposits are supposed to be mailed to former tenants within 30 days but it took 6 weeks and about 5 phone calls to get it back. On two occasions I was promised the deposit was going to be mailed before certain dates. I asked for emails confirming this, and they said they would, but I never received any. Upon receiving it, there was $500 deducted for cleaning fees/ lawn mowing. However, when I moved in the grass was very high and the home was dirty (I wish I had taken pictures when I moved in).
