Stay here every time I go to Columbia. Always clean and staff is very accommodating. Always a top choice.

This place is top notch! From the moment we stepped inside the front door to the time we checked out, the employees were nothing but wonderful. The hotel is clean, the rates are affordable, and it is within walking distance of 3 restaurants., Their location is perfect-- they are not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle, but within minutes you can be in downtown Columbia, Riverbanks Zoo, etc. The free breakfast was fantastic-- a step above many of the continental breakfasts we've had over the years. Also, the pool was spotless and not crowded at all. If we ever end up in Columbia again, we will definitely stay at Best Western Executive Inn & Suites!! Thanks to all who helped make our trip so comfortable and enjoyable!! :)

I like the location of the room, it was convient to many areas. However the non-cleanliness was a big turn off! The bugs made the stay uncomfortable and unfitting. I probably would not stay there again just because of that problem

The price was decent and the room was a decent size. However, it was a terrible infestation problem. My roomie and I saw atleast 3 roaches, and kill 2 bugs!! It was pretty uncomfortable! Especially sleeping at night worrying if something will crawl on you!

We were given a room with a full kitchen but no pots and pans but we had a few dishes. The tv was up to date BUT the bed had thin quilts and the thermostat was very confusing. The bathroom layout was nice. We had an infestation problem!!!! A dead roach by the toilet, a cockroach on the curtains, my roommate woke up in the middle of the night with a roach crawling on her pillow, & humongous asx spider crawling on the floor like he lived there!!! Beside the thin quilt and freaking bugs the room was so so

This location is the least maintained property we have ever stayed in 25 years of traveling. We reserved a room 3 days in abvance and on arrival the carpet was spotted with mold and/or mildew from a leaking air conditioner, the faucets leaked to the point of distraction, the room door had previously been smashed in and would not dead-bolt (lock), people were outside drunk and screaming throughout the night, the "courtesy officer" will do nothing and smelled of cheap vodka as she slurred out somehing that might have been an attempt at reassurance, the maintainance guy "Ron" was witnessed smoking crack in his car and after complaining to "Geri" the manager about all this, she told me that we were "...welcome to leave but the payment and deposit would be forfeited".I know the above is long-winded, sounds outrageous and may seem like plain out fantasy: It is nonetheless true. See for yourself; do NOT bring children along those of you who dare.

After staying at this hotel, I am convinced that it is a high priced Super 8. Sure it had a pool but most hotels and even most motels do these days. I have stayed in all sorts of hotels while traveling and for the cost (which was $100/night with taxes), I will just take my money elsewhere. Midway of our 2 day stay at Clarion Downtown, our key cards were deactivated. The receptionist told us that our cell phones deactivated the magnetic strip on the cards. Funny, because our cell phones were no where near the cards. Sounds like a lie to me. I think they just didn't activate the cards to work long enough. The only nice thing was the computer lab and the room was clean.
