Went in to look around and get some info on buying a camper, well..... not ONE PERSON SPOKE to us on our arrival. VERY rude people/customer service. Will not buy a camper there!
This is a long overdue thanks to Chris Stubbs of Camping World Columbia SC. We were traveling cross country and had an electrical problem. Chris was willing to take a look at our rig even though there were no appointments available, and he was the only service advisor working Dec 23, 2017. When we described our problem, he had a few ideas which he checked out, It was an inverter problem. He showed us how to work around the problem and got us back on our trip all within a few hours. We were very pleased with his service and want to recommend him to others.
We purchased a new Jayco Eagle HT fifth wheel on December 31, 2016 at Camping World in Columbia, S.C. That was a big mistake. They made a deal with us that included our trade-in and delivery of unit 3 days later but on the way home they called to try and change the deal. My husband told them he was turning around and coming back to pick up our trade-in and they decided to honor the original deal. This should have been a red flag for us. The day we arrived for pick-up of the unit, it was not ready and we had to return home with no RV (6 hour round trip). Unfortunately this was only the beginning. At the time of purchase there was a piece of broken molding in the bedroom and an issue with the pantry door. We were told by the original dealer that they had ordered two replacement parts to cover on the day we bought the camper. They were to contact us for repair when the parts came in. That never happened. We contacted them numerous times and each person told us the parts were not ordered but they would order. We heard that 3 separate times. Finally we were told in May that the parts had arrived and were scheduled an appointment for installation. After traveling 3 hours to Columbia for repairs, we were told that they did not have the parts after all. On our first camping trip we were unable to turn off the exterior lights. We called a dealer to see if they could help us troubleshoot but we were unable to fix. We took the camper to an authorized Jayco service provider near our home and they were able to fix the issue, however, when they contacted Jayco for payment they were told that the original dealer (Camping World of Columbia) had already been reimbursed for electrical repairs. If they were reimbursed, we were unaware as this was not disclosed to us at the time of sale. We finally contacted Jayco to get approval for all issues to be handled by another dealer. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER!
Bought a used camping trailer from here last weekend. Had such a great experience--it was even FUN! Everyone from the sales person, Rodger, to the sales manager, service manager, finance manager, Matt who did the walk through, to Daniel who cleaned and prepped it for delivery was GREAT to work with!! Even got a call today from Rodger asking us if we got it back home to Charleston OK. An absolutely positive experience.
highly professional. was my first time buying and they took the time to answer my questions which was nice
Do not do business with these people. Ordered awnings 3 weeks ago, made appointment to install first thing this morning. Was told 2 days ago they would get us in first and have us out to get on their road. Service manager had bad attitude, so we just took them awnings with us and are going to nicer more customer friendly camping world. Do not believe what these people say, they tell you what you want to hear to get you to commit then screw you up in the end.
