I had an outstanding visit and the message was Bible based and powerful. There was something for everyone and it looked like care about the community with the amount of outreach they do.
This is NOT a debate forum. Anyone can just leave their review without explaining to another poster why they shouldnt have that review or opinion. Since my review was challenged, I want to post this last comment. The Catholic Church is very big on holiness and interuptions and as a child I went there. You could hear a pin drop and people used the bathrooms as needed and returned quietly. Give adults more credit.... I doubt its about holiness, its about control. I am not a new Christian and am in my 60s. My husband is retired military and we have been to many many churches up and down the East Coast. We have visited many churches and been members of other churches, some even Independent Baptist. We never had an issue with this type of thing before in any church. My grandchildren have told me they feel very uncomfortable when they have to use the bathroom because they get dirty looks. Have the leaders of the church not educated themselves on the fact that having to go to the bathroom is an involuntary act? You dont control when you have to go, it would be almost laughable if it didnt appear sick to me. You can not tell your body when to go, it tells you. In that light, I think Jesus, who loved children and used them as examples in his sermons, would understand that. The church is within us, Jesus didnt let little interuptions stop his sermons,so neither should we. Most people do take issue with deacons, ushers, or anyone who appears to be excessively monitoring restrooms in any church or building for an odd reason or odd excuse.
Actually I understand how important it is to limit the amount of distractions during a service. Some churches have a constant flow in and out. Very distracting. I understand sometimes it is NECESSARY to leave the sanctuary but if so and you can not wait then you should expect for the ushers to preserve the quietness and Holiness of the sanctuary. And NOT to distract others for the benefit of one.I attended this church for several years and only left when I moved too far away.I'm Sure they did not mean to embarrass you and also that they were trying to to preserve yours and their testimony. These people are genuinely kind, loving and giving. I'm sure that they would be concerned that you were offended, BUT not to the extent they would put you above the Lord and His Holiness. I think they would hope you'd understand that.
New Laurel Street Baptist Church is awesome & amazing. Pastor Jackson keep preaching that word like God give it to you. I Got The Keys and it was Necessary. Thank God for New Laurel Street Baptist Church.
i had gone to capital city baptist church in columbia, sc to hear my grandchildren sing and watch them perform in an easter play about 2 years ago. i usually use the restroom once during the service sometimes to check my blood sugar and sometimes just to use the restroom. i got up half way through the service and i needed to use the restrooms and they were conveniently located outside the main church entrance. When i was coming out of the restroom and trying to enter the church , i had the head deacon or usher meet me ... with about 4 to 5 other men... and i felt like it was in an intimidating manner.... he said he couldnt allow me back to my seat and he pointed to a back row seat.... and said i am going to put you here.... i walked right under one of the guys arms and went back to my seat ... there was no way i was sitting in the back of the church because i had to leave once and they dont like interuptions or movement during plays.
