The staff are great! They are all extremely pleasant except for the doctor, Mr Robert Bartlett. He is very cold and stuck up. He always pushes for unnecessary tests and surgeries. He sends his staff to deliver bad news instead of doing it himself. It’s a shame such a good staff has to work for such a poor doctor. They’re also very expensive compared to other vets.
Terrible practice. When we first moved here, there was one excellent vet (Dr. Frey). We put up with the bad location, unprofessional staff and various other issues because we really liked him. Once he left, we should have run, not walked away immediately. I stayed a little too long and lost a beautiful Siamese because of it. If you value your pets and think your opinion matters, look elsewhere.

Dr. Bartlett and his entire staff are "First Class". His ability to actually listen to his clients is remarkable! I searched and searched for a professional of his caliber and will always be grateful that I found Columbia Animal Hospital. Recently my beloved 10 year old Golden Retriever became very ill. Dr. Bartlett and his staff worked tirelessly to find the source of his illness and provided superb care to my dog and provided encouragement to me along the way! My wonderful boy is coming back to health and I will be forever grateful to Dr. Bartlett and his staff.

My cat is scared of everyone, but Dr. Bartlett and the nurses took care of him and made him feel comfortable, found what was wrong and he is feeling better already. Sheri Yoder

Dr. Bartlett and the staff are very friendly, knowledable, and caring. They explain everything they are doing and why, make recommendations on upcoming care that should be scheduled. You never feel rushed. This practice is by far the best I have been to and I have been to many but when I found this practice several years ago, I moved my three dogs care into their compassionate hands.

I have been a client of Cah forever, my parents used them for our family pets, and I continued with my pets. The staff at Cah is very friendly, knowledgable, and compassionate. Dr. B is the best, and one of the most generous doctors I have dealt with. His compassion for family pets and strays is above and beyond.

I called many animal hospitals and most either charged an excessive amount for a declaw for my kitten or were almost a month wait. When I called columbia animal hospital they took in my kitten that day and schedule his surgery the next day. They do offer lazer declawing and it is half the price of other vets in the area. I am very pleased with this animal hospital and plan to use them im the future

Dr. Bartlett and staff were welcoming from the start. Being a new puppy owner, and new to the area, I was not sure where I should take my puppy Bandit for a check up. I stumbled upon this place, through the internet and so glad I did. The staff was kind, Dr. Bartlett answered all my questions, and the facility was very clean. Another positive experience was a few days after our visit we received a thank you card from the entire staff with a coupon inside for our next visit! I was very pleased with my entire experience, and will return!

This has been our first experience with Columbia Animal Hospital and it has been outstanding.
We had an emergency with our pet and they immediately made room for a visit. Ultimately, our pet had to have emergency surgery, which was performed on short notice and done professionally and very well. We are fortunate to have brought him here for care. Dr. Bartlett and staff were very caring and empathetic. I would recommend them highly!

We have 5 dogs and entrust Dr Bartlett and Columbia Animal Hospital with their care. They do an excellent job of providing care of following up on our pets after procedures. We usually get a personal phone call from Dr Bartlett to check on their progress. I like the security of being able to call with questions and advice if needed! Dr Bartlett and staff are kind and knowledgable and always remember my make, and more importantly my pets' names!

My family has been going to this vet for as long as I can remember. Dr. Bartlett is extremely knowledgeable and always takes the time to visit and make sure our questions are answered. They always let us know if something will not be covered by our insurance plans. Everyone is extremely nice, and they have even opened the doors for me after closing when I really needed to pick up medicine for our dog! They are the best.

I rescued a dog a little over a year ago. I had to use the rescue organizations vet in Palmyra to due the spay. The operation went terrible. Dr, Bartlett and his employees were extremly loving anf caring towards our new dog. They did surgury right away and fixed her right up! Follow up was great. Explained everything and took lots of time with us. You can tell thay are real animal lovers! I would highly recommend.

I love this place. The staff is extremely friendly. The dr actually spends time explains things. I don't feel rushed when I am there. I have a clear understanding of what is going on with my pet when I leave. I am sorry that the previous reviewer wasn't happy. But I am sure if you had just talked to them directly instead of venting on here for all to see. They would have taken care of your concerns. Don't let the negative reviews fool you... They are only done by people that are unhappy. It's a shame that more of us who do like the hospital don't write reviews. They would surely outweigh the bad. But if you don't have a bad experience...you don't review it. PLEASE JUDGE FOR YOURSELVES. THESE ARE TRUELY AMAZING AND VERY CARING PEOPLE WORKING HERE

STEER CLEAR!!!
We recently had our new puppy in to have her ears cropped the ears came out different lengths and the stitches were not even tied just left hanging loose and when we took her in to have the mistake corrected we were charged an additional $290.00,A FEE TO FIX A MISTAKE MADE BY THEM?? EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED... on top of all this after we paid the fee to fix the mistake the ears were still not stitched correctly,,
hard to nicely express the amount of disgust we have towards this clinic
Thank you for writing! Please call the office to discuss this problem. Every surgical case is different and in this case any imperfections can be corrected at no charge. Thank you!

Changes prices from their "quoted price." They always have hidden fees. They charge for throwing away the syringes because they are "bio hazards" I am a nurse and know that disposal of bio hazards is always free in PA! Also, they do unnecessary test and procedures to get your money. Me and my 3 friends have never been so dissatisfied.
Kelsey thank you so much for your review! We at Columbia Animal Hospital desire all feedback to help make our service and experience at Columbia Animal Hospital a positive and happy one! We stopped charging for hazardous waste disposal for over a year now. Our disposal for hazardous waste does incur a cost to us, however we have decided to forgo passing this cost on to our clients. As far as testing, we always leave the decision on what tests are necessary up to the doctor, with the reasons testing is needed detailed to the pet parents. We never do unnecessary testing and are always using the tests to gain more information on the condition of the patient, which is critical to saving it's life, healing it's problem or checking for underlying illness that, if left undetected, could shorten it's life in the future. We always develop a treatment plan for any procedures to be done on an animal. This is presented to the pet parent for approval before any procedure is done to be sure that it is acceptable to the parent before proceeding. Please feel free to comment further or please call the office to discuss your situation to clear up this matter! Thank you for writing!
