Ok, let me cut to the chase, pun intended. I walked in a few months ago with two straight razors. One a very nice but long in the tooth Swedish razor. An Eskilstuna. Top shelf name, but no way I thought it could be useful after years of neglect. And then an even older and worse-r condition cheaper Chinese razor. Was I ever wrong. The gent at Prince of Blades brought both of them back to superior life. And also was more than happy to talk for quite awhile about the blades, what he did, care for them. I learned a great deal in that one visit and more impressively, was handed back two excellent razors that I had reasoned were not restorable. So yesterday, went back with a high performance Santuko knife that had hit the floor and chipped the point. Expensive and new. Now damaged. The gentleman took one look, recommended two approaches, and proceeded. A few minutes later, the knife was reformed to brand new. But not done. He proceeded to sharpen it. I was hesitant because the blade was factory sharpened and thought it was pretty danged sharp. Nawp. He brought the blade to superior sharpness that well exceeded the factory sharpness. So what did I learn today, and months ago? Kids... bring everything you have to Prince of Blades. The gent rescued what I felt were beyond repair blades, for starters. He restored an expensive Damascus Santuko knife to not only new, he took the sharpness beyond factory.I was blown away. Twice. These folks know what they are doing. Oh, and I also taken aback at how inexpensive it was too. Seriously, just... do... it. I am beyond happy with the several results.
