I'll try to keep this short and sweet. This company makes horrible business decisions, they are invested in the wrong kind of customer, and they have absolutely no idea what customer service is.
1. Horrible business decisions - they offer a $11 groupon. If you offer someone $20 worth of food, of which you only get to keep $5.50, and expect to get a high quality consumer, you set yourself up for failure. Not only that, but it makes me feel completely invaluable as a customer who spent $50 cash and got treated like crap.
2. What kind of restaurant wants a dine-in customer that costs money - overhead for lights, environmental conditions, cleaning, napkins, staff to serve them, and public restrooms - but doesn't honor a take-out customer who literally just wants to pay for the privilege of your food and nothing more? I'll tell you this much - one customer has a higher profit margin then the other. Why on earth would you ever want to make that customer suffer a poor experience?
3. Customer service means making your customer happy and grateful that they chose to give you money. It does not mean questioning your customer when they tell you that their order was wrong; it means that when they bring the wrong order back to you it gives you the opportunity to recover the situation with an apology and an incentive to use you again and honor them for driving your incorrectly prepared food to you despite the error being yours. It does not mean you make your customer feel guilty over your mistakes.
Buy the $11 groupon, and eat there so that you can make them spend more than the $5 you bring in revenue. Otherwise, don't bother to give them money for anything else, it's not worth it - heaven forbid you give them $52 and live to regret every penny.
