Happy Hounds Pet Grooming
2330 Vickers Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80918
Charged me $47 for a 5-pound puppy. She did not trimmed at all under her tail which was the reason I took her for grooming. She asked me to have her sedated as she was restless while being groomed. I did. She did not even left the tail, practically for just shampoo $47.00 She lacks compassion which she needs for this business. She shows no compassion or affection, very much in the business for the moiney. Will not recommend her;
I bought a groupon for Happy Hounds and my Yorkie is anything but happy after having all of his hair shaved off. In addition to the $23 I paid for the groupon they charged me another $19 for a total of $42. I am very unhappy and would not recommend this place. Now my Yorkie has to wear a sweater all the time so he does not get cold.
Kindhearted, caring, considerate, gentle, compassionate, and thoughtful are words that come to mind immediately when I think of Barb. I have known her for many years as she worked with both of my dogs, Blarney for 14 years and now Connor for 4.
If either of my dogs could talk they would say, "God....I love Barb." I started working with Barb 19 years ago when I got my first dog, Blarney. Always willing to work with your schedule, the service provided is unequaled anywhere in the Springs. Her innate kindness, her joy in animals, combined with her expert knowledge of pet care, culminate in a beautiful groomed dog who considers Happy Hounds a home. I am never anything but calm and confident when I know my dog is in such capable hands.
Want your dog groomed on a Monday…not possible, as Barb spends every Monday grooming dogs as a volunteer for the National Mill Dog Rescue. When Katrina hit and there were reports of multiple animals roaming the streets, who hopped in her car and went down there? Yes. Barb.
No adjectives or descriptive paragraphs can do justice to the special feeling you get when you're with her. If I could give a 10 star rating or a 100 star rating I would. But I guess I have to be happy with the 5 star. Many thanks to Barb and her crew for the BEST (and I do mean that) dog grooming business in the city.
I purchased a living socials deal and called to make an appointment. When Mandy answered the phone she asked how I heard about Happy Hounds, when I stated that I had a living social deal she covered the phone with her hand and asked another person in the room if she should book me soon or if she should book me far out because it was a living social deal. She uncovered her hand from the phone and said that "due to the large volume of calls the first available appointment is not until the end of February."
This is just poor customer service. People purchase these deals to try out organizations they have never tried before. When you are selective just because someone received a great deal (that you offered) you risk losing lifelong customers. Please remember that people love their pets and are always looking for that just right company who provides a great service. I guess Happy Hounds is only looking to get more customers for less, not lifelong customers who will pay the regular rates. I will not be one of those customers, I have requested a refund for my voucher.

My Goldendoodle, Kirby and I love Happy Hounds. Barb is so good with Kirby and she cares about his comfort and safety while he is with her. Barb is very thorough and Kirby looks great each time he is groomed. Barb is also very flexible about appointments and is simply lovely to work with.

Barb has groomed my dogs for over ten years and I would not take them anywhere else. When my last two Shih Tzus were older, Barb took special care of their senior needs and mourned with me when I had to let them go. Now, Barb takes care of my young Shih Tzus. They pull me into her shop wagging their tails the whole way. I can tell that they always feel special after getting a bath and trim. Barb is a pleasure to work with and does a great job! I highly recommend Happy Hounds! You won't be disappointed.
Unparalleled in service and affordable prices for every budget, this pet grooming facility places a very high emphasis on total pet care: Barb, the owner, speaks directly with each client to determine the needs of each individual pet. She only works on so many dogs in a day, allowing each dog to get groomed at his or her own pace and learn the process. After the dog is groomed, Barb promptly calls the owner and honestly explains any health or behavior issues the dog had that day.
My dogs, having come from the shelter, had severe anxiety with separation and the grooming process. Happy Hounds worked with me and allowed me to stay with them as they were being groomed, and explained what all they were doing.
I would recommend this grooming facility to anyone who wants their dogs to receive the best possible care and come home smelling and looking beautiful!
The toothbrushing service is a great plus if you want your dog to have extra-fresh breath when he or she gets home!!!
Barb is the Best! My 10 year old Shih Tzu used to be afraid to go to the groomer, but after meeting Barb at Happy Hounds several years ago, he's no longer a nervous client. Barb puts Buster right at ease since she is the most caring groomer we've ever met! Buster isn't stressed out when I return to pick him up after his miraculous transformation. A spa day for my dog at Happy Hounds creates the most pleasant smelling car ride home - which equals Happiness for me AND my wallet. Hustle over to Happy Hounds - you and your dogs will be so glad you did!
Our experience with Barb's Happy Hounds started 12 years ago when we adoped our beloved golden retriever, Harry from our next door neighbors who had to leave for Japan. Our dog was so excited about going to Barb's , we would just say "" Want to go to Barbs?"" and he would start jumping up and down and heading for the door. Barb provides excellent grooming services as well as advice on how to keep your dogs healthy. We have continued with Happy Hounds with our existing 2 dogs. The dogs smell so nice and look so good in their new bandanas. I highly recommend Happy Hounds as the place to go for pet grooming. We would never consider going anywhere else.

I have been taking my two labs to Happy Hounds Pet Grooming and Barb for the past four years. When first recommended by a friend to use Barb’s services, my yellow lab Clipper, had just had TPLO surgery and was scheduled to have the second knee operated on six months later. Barb advocated putting Clipper on NuJoint vitamins that promote healing. I adhere to her advise and to my surprise and my vet who did the surgery, Clipper was healing earlier and stronger then typical. Keeping him on the vitamins the second surgery recovery rate was even more successful.
For my chocolate lab, Yankee, Barb’s regular grooming picked up on a potential ear infection. Off to the vet again and sure enough, the start of an ear infection. Thanks to Barb catching it early, only ear drops were required.
Barb is not just a groomer, she is a person who loves all our 4-legged (two legged ducks) friends and truly cares about their whole well being. I thank my friend for the magnificent grooming tip to go to Barb and will continue to advise others to use Barb and Happy Hounds Pet Grooming. You can’t find a more compassionate, loving, and proficient groomer than Barb.

Barb, our groomer at Happy Hounds, has been grooming our cocker spaniels for the past 15 years. I have always trusted her to take good care of our 4 legged family members and she has never disappointed us. More than once she has pointed out something that we need to have checked out by our vet, and that has helped us keep our cocker spaniels healthy. I have recommended her, and will continue to recommend her to anyone that wants a quality groomer.
