Dr Rothstein is one amazing human being and one fantastic Vet! He has treated all my babies and is remarkable in his time, his care and his genuine compassion. I have also had the pleasure of my animals seeing Dr. Flenniken who was also amazing and ever so kind. I love the staff and the amazing care my babies get at Briargate and highly recommend them to all pet owners everywhere!!!

Briargate Veterinary Clinic deserves a 10 star rating. Dr. Mooney Dr. Rothstein are wonderful. They care deeply for their clients and treated all our animals through their lives over the years with the tenderest of care. Both Diddle and Harley went around the world with us... and have since left us, due to extreme old age, but Dr. Mooney love them both, and loved them with us. If you want a Caregive for your pet-familymember then Briargate Vets are the ones you need to go to. They'll love your pets ALMOST as much as you do.

The staff there, love your pets almost as much as you do too. They are great, knowledgeable, empathetic, and are like family too. Kudos to BVC!!!

My family and I have been going here for years and have mostly worked with Dr. Flenniken. From day one of meeting him, you could tell just how much he loved his job and was so compassionate towards everyone and our pets. We met him when we had our first golden who was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Dr. Flenniken was very upfront about all of our options and helped us make the best decision, which at that time was chemo. Casey only lasted a few months after that, but Dr. Flenniken was there for us thru it all. He gave my mom so much strength and still remember Casey even after 10+ years. Our next Golden, Shania we lost in 2011 and once again Dr. Flenniken was there throughout the entire process. She did not have cancer but was suffering from severe hip displaysia and eventually we saw it in her eyes, it was time to let her go. When we took her to the vet, it was the worst day ever for our family but Dr. Flenniken helped us thru it. He made sure we were right there with our Nini and walked us thru the whole process. Then, our pitbull Jazzy went thru a form of skin cancer and had to have surgery to remove the mass. But we trusted that Jazzy would be in great hands and sure enough she was. Now, we are on the verge of losing our beloved black lab Simba and once again, Dr. Flenniken has been amazing helping us through it all. He even called while he was on vacation to let us know what the test results were. Our family is eternally grateful to all the staff here at this facility, but especially Dr. Flenniken. He's truly wonderful and I don't think we would have come this far without him. He deserves all the greatest thanks in the world!!!

Love this clinic!

We have spent a great deal of time in this clinic with our two boxers, and would never go anywhere else. Dr Seth Rostein is amazing, and was able to diagnose our Buttercup with Lupus when our vet in Alaska said her pain was from torn ACL's in both back legs. we have always been able to get right in for emergencies, and all of the doctors there are caring, compassionate, knowledgeable, and wonderful. thank you Briargate from the Bain and Zabel family

Best Vets... wish they would take care of me.

I have had 4 dogs, all of which I have been taking to Dr Flennigan (Flennikan?) for several years. Not only do the dogs actually LIKE pulling up to the vet building but you can tell he loves taking care of them. My german shepard has had severe hip dysplasgia since he was 6mo old. He was very upfront with me about his quality of life and making decisions as time went on. Luckily we are able to keep him out of pain and loving life. He also will not allow anyone to touch his paws or legs because of the pain he's had in the past and we have to sedate him to clip his claws... yes, clip his nails. However he is much more comfortable, less traumatized and has less hip dislocations from fighting.

My other dog is actually my service dog and she is well cared for by all the vets there. We usually see Dr Flenniken for them all. However when she had a distended stomach which we thought was twisted I had just started a new job in Aurora and couldn't afford to pay for her to be there overnight for observation or to bring her back in the morning. It was taken care of and luckily she was ok. They always help me financially when it comes to treatment and medications for the animals, the ARE NOT lining their pockets with money.

They helped with the passing of both our other dogs and allowing that to happen at home, comfortably. They are AWESOME, I have seen other vets but these are the only ones I trust.

We love our vet

I'm actually shocked at the negative reviews on here. We tried several vets after we moved to the Springs 11 years ago and believe me when I say that there is no comparison to the quality of care we have received at Briargate Veterinary Clinic.

When we go in, we are always greeted promptly and with courtesy by the staff at the front desk. We rarely have to wait for any length of time before we are ushered back to a room.

We typically see Dr. Flenniken and are always so impressed with his professionalism and the genuine care and concern he displays. We never feel rushed and he always takes time to thoroughly examine our pets (we have 4) and answer any questions we may have. He makes my husband and I - as well as our furkids - feel comfortable.

In addition to Dr. Flenniken, we have seen several other vets at Briargate when a last-minute appointment was necessary for one reason or another, and we have been pleased with each one.

Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this place.

High Quality Care!

We have been going to Briargate Veterinary Clinic for the past 6 years. The veterinary staff is excellent! We have seen Dr. Moody, Dr. Tuthill, Dr. Flenninken and Dr. Rothstein. They are all amazing, caring, and skilled. Dr. Rothstein is our favorite vet. I like his matter of fact manner. The front desk has always been cheerful and polite, sometimes it does get a little crazy but they handle it well. We've always gotten great care, our dog loves the staff.

My Two Cents

These negative reviews are getting a little out of control.

My family and I have been taking our countless animals to this clinic since they opened (about 13 years ago), and they have never been anything but caring, compassionate, and trustworthy.

Dr. Flenniken has been our go-to veterinarian and has treated everything from seizures to the successful removal of the lobe from the liver of one of my dogs due to a benign tumor; he even made a house-call that same night to check on her progress. She lived another two years until she had a stroke.
He also once stepped out of his job's requirements and visited one of my dogs who was having status epilepticus at the emergency vet clinic after-hours.

In that same light, we have also seen Dr. Mooney, Dr. Rothstein, and Dr. Tuthill on multiple occasions, and all three have never ceased to be anything but helpful and understanding.

That being said, if no one at the clinic can help us with any of our animals' illnesses, they will not hesitate in referring us to specialists who can (i.e. - orthopedic surgery, rehab, even another clinic - and not North Academy, their sister clinic - where we could take our ferret for his adrenal tumor).

Furthermore, in defense of the rest of Briargate's staff, we have never entered this clinic without a happy greeting from the receptionists and veterinary technicians, and in the few times we have had to say goodbye to our animals - due to illness brought upon by old age, might I add - they have always been incredibly caring and accommodating, allowing us to stay and say goodbye for as long as we wish. If you are being treated rudely, perhaps you should reevaluate YOUR presentation to the staff.

Finally, in defense of the ""muzzle situation"" another reviewer has written about, we always ask or suggest a muzzle for our animals if we feel that there may be a problem with any procedure. Muzzling is not harmful to your animal whatsoever, and bear in mind that the safety of the staff should be foremost because, regardless of how sweet your animals may be at home, it's perfectly logical for them to react adversely in unfamiliar situations that could prove to be uncomfortable for them, as most veterinary procedures are. There have been several instances of vet techs being bitten by ""sweet little darlings"" who would ""never do that at home...""

Overall, this clinic is wonderful, and we would never dream of taking our animals elsewhere.

Worst vet in the springs

The Staff in this clinic are not taking accountability for they actions or mistakes. They seem to be covering for one another. I came to this conclusion after a misdiagnosis with my female cat. i took her in for a simple spay and was told she had feline lukemia.Thank goodness took her for a second opinion, it was negative, then still not sure, and as i love my baby i went for a third, it was also negative. Briargate Veternary clinic costed my all those trips to add up to a large sum of money.

Worst experience we've ever had. Will never return

Briargate Vet Clinic misdiagnosed our male Maltese repeatedly, and by several different vets there. Had some simple tests have been ordered earlier, perhaps our ""Little Family Member"" would still be alive. It surprises me how much the vets try to protect and cover the others mistakes. I dare anyone to try sending them an email..the rude receptionist will ignore it, as will the vets. I strongly recommend to anyone considering Briargate Vet Clinic for the care of their pet, to seriously reconsider. Don't risk the life of your pet. Ask to see the filthy area where the pets stay as well. You'll be shocked. We will never use them as health care providers again. You would be wise to do the same.

Dog killers

After taking our sick little man ( Little D ) to this vet all his life and getting him treated for a bone problem for 9 years that turns out in the end that it was a brain tumor that he has obviously had since he was a pup. The malpractice of this vet is uncanny. They put our dog through pain all this time just to be able to line there pockets with money this is disgraceful. One way or the other they will pay for D's death. Weather it be in court or when they get put down themselves they will have to answer to God for ruthlessly hurting one of his creation.

great vets and great animal care

The vets and the staff at Briargate Vet clinic are excellent and very caring. I have taken all my animals to them and have had excellent care. We have been very very happy with this clinic and plan on a very long relationship with them

Thank you

The office has been providing my dog several services over a period of time. They discovered an overcharge to my account and credited my account. I was grateful for their honesty.

Their staff have also been very patient and kind with both my dog and me.

Wouldn't go anywhere else.

I was raised in a family where no one agreed with any one person. The exception to this was Briargate Veterinary Clinic. And though my parents prefer Dr. Mooney (due to one of their border collies being fear aggressive toward men), I prefer Dr. Rothstein, and recently have been given light to one of their other vets, Dr. Tuthill. All vets are very knowledgeable in their profession and neither myself (who has 2 dogs) nor my parents (who have 4 dogs) has had any negative experiences with briargate. I would recommend this clinic to anyone.

Dr. Flennikan is the best Vet around!

Dr. Flennikan is very knowledgeable and the most caring vet we have ever met. We had to move away from Colorado Springs a few years ago, but we travel 600 miles to the Springs every year so that are dogs can be seen by Dr. Flennikan.

Wonderful vets, lousy and rude front desk

I'm sorry the people at the front desk hate their jobs, but that's not my problem. In this economy, surely you can hire somebody who's better at customer service.

The vets there are caring and knowledgeable. So I recommend the Briargate Veterinary Clinic if you can survive the rude cs staff!

Best Vet in the City

We've always known Quinn Flenniken to be highly knowledgeable and caring, but yesterday, one of the most traumatic in our experience, Quinn rendered the ultimate in compassionate care. Our beloved Terrier, BeBe, had reached the end of her life. Quinn
ministered to us, her parents, and to BeBe as he helped her begin her Long Sleep. He is an expert in his field, but further, treats the entire family as any doctor would for a child's parents in a hospital. Thank you, Quinn, for being who you are.

Love Briargate Vet.

I have been going to Briargate Veterinary Clinic for 3 years. I moved to CO. Springs from MA. I loved my Vet in MA. My dog got a virus and was in serious shape. Dr. Flennikan and his staff got my beloved dog in right away, had his records faxed over in a flash - and fixed my Boston up with medication. The cost was reasonable and the treatment was superb!! I was so happy to find a clinic with staff and Vets who made my dog and I feel welcomed. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!

Very rude customer service at the reception desk. Today I made an appointment to get my cat vaccinated and spoke w/Sharon. I explained to her that I was unaware that my cat was overdue on vaccines until I personally went into the clinic while I was taking care of my other kitty. At that time, I requested print outs of all my animals needs and are tending to them now. Sharon treated me like I was an idiot because she said 2 years ago I was sent something in the mail telling me they were overdue. I told her that I didn't recall receiving anything and she verified my address. All was good there. I asked her if reminder cards went out thereafter and she replied no. Perhaps, my mail was misrouted or it was never mailed from the vet clinic. Whatever the case was, she was extremely rude. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT CLINIC. On the flip side, the doctors are knowledgeable and professional. I hope someone is monitoring this site and ensures their frontline personnel are courteous to the customers...after all the customers are the ones paying thier mortgages and carnotes!!!!!
