Bally's Unresponsive to Complaints

This past year Planet Fitness was sold and so too were its memberships, to Bally's Total Fitness. Certain members received a letter, much like the old ""Yellow Pages"" inserts we received in the mail that required you to say ""NO"" and return it rather than it being a desire to accept an offer.

Because Planet Fitness owed a credit to my wife, we never heard from the folks at Bally's regarding her account for some time. She later received a billing notice stating that she owed $30.00. She contacted Bally's and informed them that she did not want the service and did not want them taking funds from our accounts.

Ironically, we recently noticed that they have continued deducting the fees from our account for one of us. That person was myself. I contacted Bally's and informed them of the following:

1) I never signed any form of contractual agreement
2) Did not authorize the transfer of my membership with Planet Fitness ( which was a month-to-month)
3) Never have stepped foot inside of Bally's Fitness
4) Did not authorize the withdrawal of funds from my account - the authorization was with Planet Fitness
5) Did not want their membership

What I received was a foreigner in a foreign country trying to explain how the real world works. I further learned that he did not have the authority to do anything for me nor would he transfer me to a manager or an escalation supervisor. If they won't work with the folks they are robbing, the best thing for them is that consumers learn of their practices and get them listed on every complaint site known to mankind. Then they will slowly and silently go out of business. As they should.

Terrible billing, customer service

I have never been to Bally's and never signed up with Bally Total Fitness. I noticed I was receiving bills from Bally's this summer on my credit card, and called to complain and make sure this was no longer billed to me. I was assured that I would receive no further bills. I also asked to speak to a manager. They told me all management was on another line and they would have to call me back. No calls were ever received back from them.

I also contacted my credit card company to let them know this service had never been authorized by me. Now months later I receive a bill for 4 months service from them. I can not believe that this is still ongoing. I'd like to add that their customer service put me on hold for very long periods of time, and that the store themselves told that they were not able to help me. I am trying to get this resolved now but their customer service is completely closed over the weekend now. This new bill was received on a Friday night.
