I agree 100% with the post below mine that rated Beverly, the "owner" of the company, a 1 out of 5 stars. I came to work for her after my respite care family retired from the military and had to find another company to provide funding for the family to continue to receive services. We had nothing but problems with Beverly since day one. We planned to meet at a coffee shop to set up initial paperwork. I showed up there with 4 other interested employees, and Beverly never showed up, nor did she respond to any of our messages that we were there and waiting for her. When my respite care family contacted her to ask what happened, she said it was the first time she had ever had to cancel and that there was "a sudden death." When I finally rescheduled to meet with her, she complained and said it was ridiculous that my respite family had contacted Beverly's boss to complain that we couldn't get started because of her failure to attend our first meeting or to even inform us that she couldn't attend anymore. She continued to talk terribly about the family I work for. She was incredibly unprofessional and rude. Over a year later, she continues to cause nothing but problems. She doesn't even have the curtesy to mail out checks, so she makes all of the employees pick up checks from a box in front of her house. It is left open without a lock, so anybody could get into it and take all of the checks. On three different occasions, she has shorted my pay check or "accidentally missed a paystub" and left out the check entirely. When I first met her, she warned me that my old company was known for shorting people on their checks. I told her that in 6 years, I had never had an issue with them. Now I see why she said this. She is the one who shorts checks, hopes her underpaid employees won't notice, and then she profits the difference. With the most recent occurrence, I had to go to her house three times to pick up one check that she "forgot about." Every time I went, it still wasn't there. When I texted her for the third time to ask why my check still wasn't there, she asked me to turn back around, and she would put it in the box. When I arrived, she saw me, opened her front door, and tried to tell me that I could have avoided it all by just texting her to let her know I was on my way, even though she had told me three times in that one week that it would be there. She said it would be there on Monday. When I arrived on Friday, it still wasn't there. She then proceeded to harass me on her front porch before shutting the door in my face, so I couldn't say anything to her. It shouldn't be the employee's job to remind the employer to put out the check when the check was supposed to be there 12 days prior. Also, her idea of "staff development" is handing out "informative sheets" with questions and answers, but half the questions can't be answered from the "informative sheet." She also won't answer phone calls. She only communicates through text messages. She is rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. I am shocked that her "business" is still running.

If I could rate this business 0 stars I would! The owner of the business, Beverly Serman is incapable of managing her existing clients, yet she continues to recruit new clients. She hires providers without offering proper training. I've had respite workers show up at my house who have no clue about addressing my child's special needs. Her workers have cancelled last minute and left us stranded more times than I can count. Her providers are independent contractors so she says they can do whatever they want. She uses her boyfriend to pick up the slack when she's overwhelmed with her job as a bus driver, and he has no clue about anything. She's been audited and failed miserably. I wouldn't recommend this business to my worst enemy. I'm shocked that she even has any clients, after how she has botched up so badly. Even her independent contractors complain about the way she does business. Don't let her profile fool you. She operates this company out of her own home and after she lures you in, with all kinds of promises, she'll give you bottom of the barrel service as she continues to rope in new clients, that take your place in line.
This Is a facility within the R.J.Montgomery Salvation Army Shelter. It is overseen by The Homeless Clinic next door. The Doctors & PAs who serve the homeless community are heads above most people in their field. They will take the best of care of your needs and get you moving in the healthiest direction; all bases upon your specific needs. I highly recommend this facility and the Homeless Clinic.
Judging by the reviews of this facility at sounds as if Jayco The Joint Commission on Hospital accreditation should be notified. I will notify them and the facility will be checked out.
My mother passed away in this facility in 2012. The first night she was there she said she had to go to the bathroom, the aide yelled at her tha she would have to wait. A 95 year old woman stage 4 liver cancer, she couldn't wait but had to wait for her bed to be changed. Also after she had passed I was cleaning out the closet, saw that a brand new nightgown I had bought for Mother's Day was in the bottom of the closet poop was wrapped in it. WHAT the HELL!! If you DON'T care about your family member by all means send them here!!!
My father was poorly watched there. He got worse and worse. I was told it was because he refused to get out of bed and do his physical therapy. Then, after numerous questions with no answers and the doctor only seeing him one time in 11 days, we were told he would have to be sent home. We protested but go no where. We didn't even get in the front door of his home. He couldn't get out of the car, vomitted, and shook. We drove straight to the emergency room where they found he had sepsis, a blood poisoning disease from his severe urinary tract infection! Sepsis can cause organ damage, decline, and even death! His white blood count was over 25,000! He was also bone dry with dehydration! They had not even checked on why he was getting weaker and weaker and his urine was white and puss like. Terrible!
We hired First Light to help Mom with her medications, checking on her oxygen, assisting with showers, getting her to meals on time, and checking on her before retiring for the night. The caregivers are great people and truly very helpful with Mom's needs. Charlene is very caring and knowledgeable. Some elderly folks can be somewhat contrary, intimidating, and don't want to cooperate with anyone. Charlene does a great job when she slows herself down a bit. Shaylee is young, but with a bit more training, can be a great asset. Scheduling is great!! Kirsten is VERY accommodating and has been a pleasure to work with.
RAH came through and paid my mom her deposit back. Thanks for doing the right thing:-)
EXCELLENT SERVICE! Same day service, kind, caring staff. Always on time. Used for over 2 years with my dad for respite for my mom, and used with her when she was ill. Received deposit back without even asking for it. Peace of mind that your parents will receive good care if you cannot be there.
