My wife and I flew from Minnesota to fish with the Houke's and Lake Charters. What an experience! Don Houke is a professional who knows the lakes he is fishing, and knows how to provide a good experience for the angler in search of Idaho's big lake species. Don's boat is neat and clean. I was impressed that he gave a safety briefing, which I expect but rarely get when fishing with guides or charters. Don is friendly, conscientious, and pleasant company. We fished using the Frisky Jenny Flies manufactured by the Houke family. They worked very well with a number of fish brought to net including a 17-18 lb rainbow from lake Pend Oreille. We highly recommend Lake Charters if you plan to fish the Coeur D'Alene area.

Lake Charters is a fantastic outfit. I have taken several trips with the Houke's and have found each trip to be better than the next. I catch something each time I am with them. Our family has a blast each and everytime. The Houke's have first class facilities and know how to treat people and catch fish; Mrs. Houke makes her own flies and sells them at Black Sheep, Cableas, and other area stores; Frisky Jenny Flies - gotta have em. They provide a great time for families, friends, coworkers, etc. If I were to recommend any charter in the North Idaho area, it would definitely be Lake Charters. Try them out, you won't be disappointed!
